While checking the wolves and goblins and speaking to the party, Blaire and the goblins are providing water to the wolves and cautiously moving toward the pit and dead creatures.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Rinn chuckles as he helps scoop the goop off Eli, "I'm good Blaire. Might have to keep an eye out for some of my arrows, but I feel like I may have lost a few in the forest." He stops a moment though and looks around, "Actually, there should be more of those things. Robwin and I saw several of those things and I only took down two of them. So maybe keep an eye out while you catch your breath."
He then takes a moment to collect any arrows he can find in the vicinity, then pokes at the goop on the ground left behind by the wisp (Investigation: 19). "I think I can remember where the other one is that I killed. And there is some sort of pit ahead as well. That was where we first saw the wisps last night."
Wolfsong pats Rinn on the shoulder while looking at the remains of the wisps and laughs, "Fine hunt Rinn, well done. I had no doubts about your skills, unlike someone." With his final comment Wolfsong's glance turns cold as he aims it at Eli.
There's a loud crack of thunder between Eli and Wolfsong accompanied by Blaire's voice booming in the mist of you two loudly in Illuskan, "By Valkur's bloody sails [explicatives] stop!" Her power forcibly knocking Eli back causing him to loose his grip on his longsword and helmet. "You haven't done anything noble here! You think your way is the only way! So does he! So do the elders! You're all wrong! [Swearing in Sailor's cant] Over yourselves! I am not the learned, but our brother just said there were more out here! [explicatives] Perhaps before you kill your sea tossed twin you should make sure we're safe!"
Turning on Wolfsong still in loud angry Illuskan, "Why! Why is this necessary! Why are you each ready to challenge the other! He's not even a match for you lest his God favor him unfairly or he catch you sleeping! Agh!!!"
And she stomps past both of you drawing her Warhammer and setting her shield, watching carefully for these Will O' Wisps Robwin had described.
(( As far as I recall only Wolfsong and Robwin understood the rant. ))
As the goblins and wolves recover from the surprise of the thunder and tempest, Gaatbort looks at TT and says, "You ride well. Better than Gralk." Gralk slapps Gaatbort's shoulder.
Glufs tosses her hand toward the storming redhead, "Booyahg!"
Wolfsong takes a step towards Eli, "Rabid animals no, but hypocrites maybe. You berate someone for rushing ahead without a word ruining a plan in place then a few days later do the exact same thing. You have no trust in your allies, you could have waited and trust Rinn not to stick his neck out father than he needed to, instead you go charging though the woods you mail ringing like blasted bells. You have any idea how much you could have ruined his hunt? How much danger you put him in doing that?"
Wolfsong growls as he stores the javelin following Blaire's words and keeps an eye out for any other dangers around but we will keep glancing angerly at Eli from time to time.
Rinn, Robwin, Ikki and Blaire find most of Rinn's arrows as well as three more ectoplasm bursts, about a dozen Striges carcass, four dead hobgoblin (two in the pit and two out of it) and the ogre; head impaled on pit spikes.
Glufs and Gralk try to explain how good the Striges are to eat. Robwin,
You get more out of it hearing them in goblin trying to figure out the right common words to use.
Rinn you find six silver and seven copper on the too hobgoblin outside of the pit as well as four daggers, two swords, some very rotted meat, and thirty arrows. There are two shortbow but the string is snapped on one and the bow of the other is cracked.
Blaire finds a small pack with what appear to be letters.
"Robwin! Can you make this out? It looks a bit like the letter from yesterday."
Rinn holds up each of the weapons he finds to inspect them a little before stowing them in his backpack, "We can sell these later on. I'm not sure if this is all the glowing creatures though," he says as he looks at all the puddles of goop, "I hope so though. I wonder what was going on here though?"
Robwin approaches Rinn and gives him whatever the high-elf equivalent of a high five is, and a big-brotherly smile, “Good job!... Here, I saved you some breakfast.... I’ll have the paper back when you’re done”. He fishes out the paper parcel and hands the food to the other high-elf. When the paper is returned he cleans it thoroughly with prestidigitation, flattens it out best he can and stows it for rough working.
He spends a few moments fussing over Lia, letting her recount the events of Rinn’s hunt. “I’m glad your ok”, he says finally.
And when Blaire calls over to him with the letter, he says, “What’s this?.. Oh yes, I can take a look...”.
Robwin is happy to attempt to read the letters. He’s conscious there may be another wisp, or more, but is happy to rely on his and Lia’s passive senses and the strength of the party back together.
Robwin: You take you the pack and begin looking at the letters. The letters seem elven but not quite. You start to wonder if they are encoded in some way when Comprehend Languages kicks in. You do take notice of the delay. That is odd. Each is clearly penned by a different hand.
Missive 1:
"I see no benefit in an alliance with the Black Spider nor it's subjects. Some may see it as a mercenary benefit. I see it for what it is, subjugation. If your master or its servants come against us, they will face the full wrath of Talos."
Missive 2:
"Your proposal is intriguing, Glasstaff. The Black Spider is certainly interested in a mutually beneficial alliance. We will send additional muscle as a show of good faith. Once we have more understanding of the situation, we will share more. Your messengers are serving as our guests in the meantime."
Missive 3:
"This Reidoth in Thundertree could be problematic. See to the druid and deal with them. If they are useful, so be it. Alliance or not, stay clear of the orcs in the west Neverwinter Wood."
At a suitable moment, Robwin gathers anyone who’s interested and describes what each missive says: making a particular point to impress upon everyone the names of groups, or individuals and entities, mentioned...
The goblins are helping Blaire look around and tend to the pack.

While checking the wolves and goblins and speaking to the party, Blaire and the goblins are providing water to the wolves and cautiously moving toward the pit and dead creatures.
As Gralk gets to Eli she says, "Collect slime (ectoplasm). Good for big mix."
Rinn chuckles as he helps scoop the goop off Eli, "I'm good Blaire. Might have to keep an eye out for some of my arrows, but I feel like I may have lost a few in the forest." Eli will glare at Gralk but remove his helmet and scrape a good sample of it into a small clay jar.
Wolfsong pats Rinn on the shoulder while looking at the remains of the wisps and laughs, "Fine hunt Rinn, well done. I had no doubts about your skills, unlike someone." With his final comment Wolfsong's glance turns cold as he aims it at Eli.
"Well that was intense. Everyone ok?"
Eli returns Wolfsong's cold gaze. "We wouldn't prattle around in safety when a comrades in danger. We're not rabid animals. ... Mostly."

Glufs tosses her hand toward the storming redhead, "Booyahg!"
Gralk and Gaatbort both nervously laugh.
Eli looks around sitting up front the ground as the wolves and goblins start catching up with Blaire.
"What in the hells?"
Wolfsong takes a step towards Eli, "Rabid animals no, but hypocrites maybe. You berate someone for rushing ahead without a word ruining a plan in place then a few days later do the exact same thing. Responding to Gaatbort "I wouldn't go that far, I was just holding on for dear life. You all make it look easy"
Glufs asks Blaire, "What we hunt?"
Blaire replies in common with a heavy accent and strained voice,, "more of those Wisps or more goop, yeah?"
Glufs and Gaatbort nod and start looking.
Gralk puts her hand on Blaire's weapon arm and says, "Good you not sheep."
Blaire let's loose a watery laugh, "Yeah at least I'm not a sheep."
Wolfsong growls as he stores the javelin following Blaire's words and keeps an eye out for any other dangers around but we will keep glancing angerly at Eli from time to time.
