Gertrude gives Felix a quick and awkward hug. "I enjoy having you here. Even though we don't talk much. Now lets go and kill some golems." She slaps him on his back and strides away towards the tree bridge.
Before getting there, she slows down, looking back at Felix again: "Do you want to scout ahead? Also, Brunella, can you see anything on the other side of the river? Your eyes seem to be so much better than the rest of ours!"

Gertrude laughs at Oniss strutting out onto the river. Here, the current is stronger, and the water, though solid to walk on, still moves up and down. Gertrude forgets the dangers and follows Oniss out onto the river north of the fallen tree. For a moment she closes her eyes and remembers the ice skating of her youth. But then the scorching heat brings her back to reality. This place really was nothing like home.
Before getting there, she slows down, looking back at Felix again: "Do you want to scout ahead? Also, Brunella, can you see anything on the other side of the river? Your eyes seem to be so much better than the rest of ours!"
Brunella nods, looking ahead, using her eagle sight to spy for anything, even a minor detail, across the river.
