So, in my world.. at this latitude... kobolds are active in the hours around sunrise and sunset; they are crepuscular. So, your Chultan characters, especially with decent nature sense, would know this.
Leann is going to start heading up and out, following their kobolds. She is not going to be stealthy, as that is not her skillset. If it comes to needing to persuade someone, then she’ll do that if/when it comes up.
The kobold guard immediately challenges the first (apparently) non-reptilian person he sees. "Who goes there?" He says in common, pointing a crude spear in their direction. "It's just Shutorn and his buddies. Now, let us through." The DragonShield rebuffs the guard.
The guard takes a long look at the band if misfits, the. Looks back at the DragonShield. Back to the smooth skins, and looking at the DragonShield, responds, "What are you talking about? Where did these people come from?!"
"You. On your knees." he orders Leann, the business end of his spear inches from her face.
Again hiding behind one of the larger party members, Dorian will imitate the voice they heard earlier (the dragon) and use Message to tell the guard "Let them pass!"
The guard fails his wisdom check and believes he heard Tinder call out a command f I'm the bottom of the pit 200fr below. "Alright, go ahead." he gestures to we are the ascending path."
Near the stairs at the back of the cave, the second guard loses his mind. "What are you doing? They're trying to escape! Stop them!" He shouts, as he hurls a spear at Leann. 17 for 1 piercing.
"What are you doing you fool!" Leann snaps, easily deflecting the spear with her shield. "She glances to the kobolds with them. "Is this a trator in your midst, attacking us unprovoked?" She growls with anger as she narrows her eye sont he kobold that threw the spear. "You wish to fight all of us at once or what? By yourself..." She nearly snarls at him.
The kobold guard runs away screaming down the stairs at the back of the cave, tripping over a half dozen sleeping kobolds in the cave below, who stir and begin ascending the stairs (using their whole movement for the round in the process.)
To make this a vit easier, ill reduce your options to broad categories and you can elaborate.
1. Run
2. Hide (hostiles haven't seen you yet)
3. Trickery/deceit
4. Other (I cant think of everything)
First person to flat out state what they di is what the group does unless someone says they don't want to do that. If you want to converse and vote, do here in character or in ooc thread for meta. If nobody says anything in 6 hours, I'm rolling a d4.
Mines don't typically have doors, though the office and storage shed outside the mine both do. To be clear about your position, you are on the surface level, about 175ft below the ridge, on the south side of the central shaft, just outside area 7.
Unless you all tell me otherwise, you try to trick some or all of the kobolds in some manner. Feel free to position yourselves anywhere. Three Kobolds emerge from the stairs, armed only with clubs.... Three urds (winged kobolds) fly up from the level below via the central shaft, each with a dagger in hand.
Here is a map of the event with players in blue and kobolds in orange (hostile) and yellow (non-hostile, for now). Im not too worried about movement or positions, as the books maps aren't really well suited as battle maps, but they hopefully this helps us keep track if who is around and whose side they're on.
"Oh, you have angered the dragon now!" Says Dorian. He'll use prestidigitation to warm the chestpiece of one of the hostile kobold's armor. "You are delaying our important work!"

The kobold is suitably impressed and dies not actkvely hinder anyone's movement.
"Good call, shrimp." Scoffs rhe obnoxious DragonShield as he passes ths kobolds, escorting the party around the east rim of the mineshaft.
Leann takes off up the track, two of the urds moving to intercept her... until she passes the opening to area 6 and under the footbridge, whereupon the first stops rather abruptly. The second urd crashes into him and the pair tumble down the shaft in a fumbling pile, landing on the east bridge of level 2. As they collect themselves, they observe her warily from below, clearly in no hurry to give chase.
When everyone has made it to the north side of the shaft, the kobolds stop.
"WHOA! What are you doing?!" The DragonShield shouts softly, flailing his arms wildly as the other kobolds take several steps back, down the track away from the bridge. "That place is haunted!" He explains, pointing to the old dwarven forge.
1. You can follow the track directly, kobolds will not pursue you on foot, they have made it clear that they're not interested in going near the old forge.
2. You could check out the forge.
3. You could try to go through the egg hatchery, which leads up to the North end of the footbridge on the surface, ths mine's exit being on the South rim.
4. Any combination of the above or anything else you want to do.
Sorry, where on the map are we? Also, I'm wondering how Huarache would deal with an old forge and the enemies having a reason not to follow him in there.

Just want to confirm: there's no door in the passage back into the mine, correct?

You're all on the North side of the shaft, about 50ft below the ridge, in the area under the footbridge.
Huarache can walk right into the forge. Nobody will follow him except PCs.
