“- Kwalish?” Grasps the key word in the coffin’s disdain statement, Omiy is suddenly excited. Keeping her sword raised, she detaches herself from the her own figure and strides towards the edge of the mountain, while her faded echo maintains the posture, still pointing the sword at the vampire. She looks down and sees gleaming barrier, takes a breath in and exclaims in surprise, “This is the Daoline Gloine city that my father always talked about! I can’t believe it - finally, I don’t have to take boring jobs and look for lost pets anymore - you, you little cutie, did you lead me here? Did you?” Omiy chuckles, petting the cat in her arms. In a split second, she teleports herself back to the spot, with the echo disappearing in thin air. Seemingly more relaxed, she puts away her sword, and eyes the group again. “Are you guys all looking for Kwalish? Cool, cool, cool. My name’s Omiy Forestvale. Y’all won’t mind me tag along, would ya?”

Okay, I'm finally able to post. Daoine Gloine looks flooded with that weird blue stuff; Huarache would have asked Dorian for the boat. And if I misunderstood, and it's a weird barrier, Huarache would have wanted the boat anyway; maybe it acts like a liquid. Also, magic boats are just cool.
"Seems this place wasn't as lost as we had thought. How did so many happen to be in the ruins of this long-lost city?" mutters Huarache quietly. Composing himself, he holds out a hand to Omiy first, then the next newcomer who is closest. "Huarache Lights, engineer. How does chasing a flying housecat bring you to these ancient ruins?"he asks in an accent that one from this world might recognize as Lantanna, but one from our world would call Kiwi. (Technological island in the southern half of the world. It's New Zealand.)
Also, there would have been a teary goodbye from Huarache to Dorian. Where else would Dorian have gotten that Artificer level, who else would have taught Dorian to shoot? Huarache spent a lot of time nerding out with Dorian; it's hard to say goodbye.
“Pleasure. “ Omiy shakes Huarache’s hand firmly. She chuckles softly under her breath, as the cat flaps his wings, and lands on her head, nestles there comfortably. “Well, come to think of it, Ms. Springflow did mention this little thing was a magical creature from a lost city long time ago, that happened to fell into the hands of a travelling merchant. Perhaps this is where he came from?”
Taking another look around, Omiy decides to send her echo to cross the strange gleam barrier, and see what happens.
As you make your descent to the city, you see the streets are devoid of life, however the bines of animals rhat have recently wandered into the city hang suspended within the ooze, appearing to be floating in midair.
Likewise, bits of crumbling walls and broken statuary that have fallen hang suspended above the streets.
The ooze is about 30 feet deep.
Many of the cryatal statues set along the exteriors of the towers are, in fact, humanoids. They stand in alcoves or recesses along the towers’ upper reaches—and are crafted in disturbingly lifelike fashion. Gargoyles and caryatid columns also abound, anchored to rooftops or extending outward to form massive arches supporting the stonework above.
Leann accepts the strangers arrival with a bit of hesitation, but soon shrugs it off and gets the group moving towards the city below. She looks for a path that keeps them out of the goo as they head towards the city. If no such path exists,t hens he would suggest setting up the boat and trying that.
Hondo is a little impatient with the formalities. “So, are we going down to the city or what? We are wasting daylight here people.” He starts heading down towards the city.
If the towers can be reached without crossing the goo, Leann would head towards those, wanting to see what can be explored of the area above the ooze prior to doing anything else. She gives Hondo a nod of respect. "Agreed." She tells him. "Let us get on with this, all of this standing around is only going to invite something else to come and attack us."
Sigurd approaches Omiy as the party starts moving forward,
"This is quite the group you have here! Tell me, how can I help the effort? I'd like to contribute since you've all saved me from an inglorious end."
“I believe we want to figure out how to get through the slimy goo, for now. “ Crossing her arms in front of her chest, she follows Hondo and Leann down the alley. “I like your sword,” she tilts her head, eyeing the other human admirably, “a man with taste, I can always appreciate that. “
If the gaps between the bridge isn’t too big, Omiy would try to manifest her echo and teleport to the other side.
Stabby covers the symbol back up and moved to keep up with the party, messing about with a bracer on his left arm for a few seconds. As they get to the ooze he pauses and makes a few snaps with his beak. "Yuck..." He says as he looks at the bones.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Omiy finds she is able to cross in short hops across the rubble. She comes to a fallen tower whcih she is able to use as a bridge. The lower edge of the broken segment of tower sits 15ft from the standing base of the tower. She manifests her echo on the ridge of the tower, and as she readies herself to switch places with it, a long mechanical appendage emerges feom the water, lashing at the echo where Omiy stood a moment ago, cracking the tower as it slams it.

”Omiy!” Hondo yells as he runs towards the bridge. “Are you alright?!” Hondo turns back towards the group, “ People, there’s something in the ooze.” Hondo looks into the ooze to see if he can see what attacked Omiy.
A grin crosses Sigurd's face as he follows down to the city.
He's about to step on the stones when he sees the appendage lash out at Omiy, and he stops. If he sees another way to cross he'll head that way. Otherwise, he'll hold to see if anything else happens.
Hondo will note the armature is articulates at many points, enabling it to flex snd curl along its length. Other such robitic tentacles can be seen surfacing above the ooze. At their center, a box, almost identical to Ctenmiir's coffin, but where the glowing blue gem sits on the side of the Vampire's shelter, a cruel beak is attached to the box on the center of the web of tentacles. In the ooze lurks a clockwork kraken.
Multiple paths exist to reach the tower, or the kraken. The total distance to the tower is about 200ft, the kraken is just in front of the tower. Routes not using the 'bridge' will require a DC13 dex check as some of the debris is rather small and balancing can be precarious. The final gap to the tower is 15ft, but we can cross that gap when we come to it.
I'm treating that attack as a trap, but the monster is surfacing, so a battle (with initiative) is immenent.
(OOC: did the kraken attack me or my echo? and did I make it across the tower? either way:)
“Feck!” Omiy yells out as the tower gets slapped by the metal arm, the force made her stagger a few steps. “Oh Flappy - “ she calls out, the scared, panicked cat flutters his wings in the air as he once again lands on Omiy’s head. “Good, you are fine. “ She relaxes, steady herself on her feet. “I’m okay!” She shouts across the ooze, waving her hand signalling the large monster under the surface, “but don’t come over!” She dons the hood of her cloak of displacement, under it she puts her hand on her sword, ready to draw.
Omiy made the switch, the kraken's attack would only effect the echo, which was destroyed when it got slapped by the tentacle. My expectation is that someone else will come and help you, but you might just ve on your own, in which case, "retreat" and "advancing in a new direction" may become indistinguishable alternatives.
If nobody else acts, the kraken will make an attack. I believe Leann is also hopping across rubble, the others are still on shore.
