Welp, looks like Omiy has no idea what’s going on. She stares at the diagrams and scrap parts, and decides to leave the job for people who know what they are doing.
Hondo, extremely tired, will trance for four hours. When he finishes, he will take his longbow and stand guard at the entrance to keep alert for the Kraken or for any of those glass people.
I recommend a long rest+. It will give you time to make several sun blades with multiple people working in shifts.
The vehicle holds an hour's worth of air with 10 medium creatures, you had 8 (Ctenmiir doesn't breathe air).
To make the first sunblade will require 4 checks and 8 hours, but additional sunblades just needs 8 more hours.
Tinker's tools, smith's tools, and jewelers tools would all be allowed to add proficiency bonus as they are all required in construction of the sword. The check can use intelligence to decipher the instructions, this can be made at advantage if you can read gnomish. A dex check for jeweler's tools (the light projecting crystal has to be mounted precisely and also some clockwork parts for shutters ant the like. smiths tools can be Dex or strength. IF I get three successful checks from any combination of players that can spend the 8 hours working on the item, I'll say you can make one sword for every 8 hours you spend collaborating on the weapons. (FYI: Xanathar's says 10 workweeks)
Omiy does her best at crafting a sword, succeeding in the assembly of most of the parts, forming rhe metal with smiths tools found in the garage (things like these https://www.baileigh.com/metalworking/forming-shaping) and carefully following the diagrams to assemble the device, but runs into trouble when she tries to mount the emitter lens. Setting the points too tightly, the heat she applies to the base causes the mounting pins to expand and the lens cracks. There are 2 more lenses in the garage right on the shelf where the other one was.
(This event is triggered by a failure of 5 or more)
Anyone can roll to install the lens and we count off 8 hours and there's a sun blade, 8 hours more and there are 2.
Pulling the welder's goggles over her head, Omiy meticulously holds up the heat gun, screwing the lens tightly, until a slight crack sound breaks out. "Shyt!" She yells out, having burned her hand a little against the heat. She cups her hands around the broken lens and carefully set it beside Huarache, who's working on another blade, and puts the assembled blade down as well. "I'm sorry, I tried my best." She says, defeated, but hoping the artificer will be able to fix it. She sits down by him and watches him work, while calling Flappy to sit upon her lap and petting his fluffy head gently.
I'm trying to let anything fly. I really didn't expect any issues like this. Murphy's law right? So slight of hand check would make sense. I guess I called it a Dex check without thinking it through too much. If anybody had rolled it as straight Dex but could have added proficiency bonus to the roll, you can go ahead and do that now.
Also, after 16 hours of trying, I'm assuming you've made one of these things, but you've definitely broken one and if I get a good check for it I'll give you the second sword too, but if you want a third, you'll have to find another emitter lens and spend another 8 hours.
Meanwhile... after 16 hours of some people building, others resting and so on, Hondo notices movement in the ooze moonpool. A slimy tentacle starts to emerge, followed by the tip of a second before the first has emerged completely.
The Clockwork Kraken's main engine soon follows as the pair of tentacles attack the intruders who have holed up in the garage. Seeing Hondo, they rear up to strike....
Combat is on. this round has 2 tentacles, the others are probably close behind. I may draw up a map, but just assume you're within 30ft of the central pool and Hondo is 10ft from it, the tentacles are just outside of it and the main engine is in the pool at the center of the room. Its eye things are red and pulsating and it seems to want to smash you all into a fine paste.
Initiative is the same as always (if people don't like this let me know in OOC and we can revisit it)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Omiy is sitting against the wall and polishing her sword when she hears the clacking sound the of a critter, and the noise of liquid pooling over the ground. Flappy hurriedly flies up from her lap, anxiously flutters his wings, circling above her head.
“Look who invited themselves in…” she mutters under her breath, pulling her hood over her head, for a split second her figure twitches in space, and then still again. The air coagulates, almost the same time her echo solidifies itself 5 feet beside Hondo, she wings her sword from her echo towards the first tentacle.

Sigurd sees the infernal mechanism appearing and others attacking so he runs to Hondo's side.
Blue light shines in his eyes for a moment as he utters "Storre!" and his form nearly doubles in size. He looks down at Hondo, saying "I'm tired of this machine."
Both of Sigurd's attacks pand solidly against the remaining tentacle. As it falls to the ground, the other tentacles come flying out of the ooze, each depositing one of the crystalline ooze folk seen in the sunken city within the garage before returning into the ooze.
A crystal Tabaxi snd a crystal kenku stand with crystal swords draen and ooze dripping from their aramture augmented joints.
Players are still up. Kraken is still a viable target.

Omiy would try to help Huarache assemble the sun blades (Is it an intelligence check? 0). If she rolls badly, then she is going to rest.

Huarach tries and makes another sun blade, but fsils to install the emitter, though it is not damaged.
Just need a good dex roll feom anyone with jeweler's tools (should be proficient, but I waive this requirement)
I don’t have jewelers tools but can I still make the roll?
If so: 23
Please don’t accept that. Is it a d20 plus your DEX modifier?
