Leann lands a solid blow, breaking one of the creature's necks. As it falls limp, another head tries biting the first Fishman, but misses as he tries unsuccessfully to thrustvhus spear into the snapping jaws. The other Locathah plunges his spear into the hydra's flesh as it tries to bite him with its cavernous razor-toothed central mouth, but fails to make a meal of the icthyoid.
Cormac sniffs the air. He smells little past the acrid drool of the wide-mouthed beast and the fishy odor of the locathah, but he thinks he smells a werebear. Sniffing again, he thinks instead two smells - man and bear.
Etrigan sears the hydra's scaly flesh with two blasts of energy, adding a new scent to the air for Cormac to sniff.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Even as the locathah continue their assault, the hydra turns its full attention to the threat upon its flank.
Tail swipe x Leann 18 for 6
Tail swipe x Huarache 18 for 14
(slashing damage, and the target is grappled. As an action, the target can escape the grapple by succeeding on a DC 14 Strength (Athletics) or Dexterity (Acrobatics) check (its choice). Until this grapple ends, the thessalhydra can''t use its tail pincer.)
Flurry of bites x Leann 21 for 7 + [roll]4d4[/roll poison <not fixing this for a miss>
Maw x Huarache 26 for Unable to parse dice roll. + 7 acid
The combination of arcane and divine might fell the beast once more. Only time will tell if this is the fi al end for the creature.
The locathah rejoice at the victory, bounding up and down, arms akimbo. Oddly, they do this in silence, save for the flop of their webbed feet on the floor as they land. Remembering their situation, the adrenaline having passed, the pair turn to those battling the hydra and bow in thanks. The taller one with greenish s ales taps the other and gestures to the exit. The shorter brownish locathag nods his assent and the pair make for the exit. Just as they are about to leave, from the hallway to the easy emerges a human man wearing studded leather armor and a coppery metallic cape. By his side snarls a hell hound.
Etrigan sighs as yet another two servants of Moloch confronts them. "How many fiends in this temple will dwell? these ones, good Sirs, we should send back to hell."
Etrigan unleashes two purple beams of crackling energy toward the hellhound.
“There seems to be a bear around some…” the words falter as the man and hound show them selves. He lets out a long deep growl as his form shifts once more. Leaving the sword at his hip he stalks forward holding the shield and using his free front paw to stalk low keeping his gaze fixed on the hound.
mechanically I’m using my BA to transform. Moving forward 40’ and using the dodge action.
Leann frowns at the newcomer. "Just how many people do we need to fight in here..." She comments more to herself. Her arm is feeling a bit tired by now,w ith all of the hacking and slashing, but she turns to face the new person and the hound. She waits to see how they answer though, her sword held lightly in her hand.
The ranger looks about the grand foyer, covered in reptilian cadavers and crumbled stone and wood. Mouth agape, he turns to the party and shouts, "Oi, you lot! What are you doin' mucking about the temple? What the... is that the statue from the down the.. how did you? Ahhh, nertz to this!" He stops stammering and draws from its sheath a sword made of sharpened bone as the hellhound snarls and barks, muscles taught and ready to pounce.
<ooc: I'm playing by the book. The fish guys ran past this guy after you pulled the eyes from the statue, feeeing them,, so he followed them, saw them fighting Thessalar’s pet and now they're here. Most things you do are driving things to either follow you or head for the exit that you're still close to. On the plus side, the areas they were in are pretty empty. I'm actually good with this in case a battle map is needed, you're still in the same room. If you left the temple to.long rest, or even juat gone to a different room you would have avoided this, unless you walked into it. I'll post the map again, but it's just the one from before. He enters from the right (east corridor)>
Edit: (quick note) hellhounds are fiends, but this one is from the expanded monster manual, which describes it as a beast. I'm going to do something weird and give it both types.

(Ooc: The ranger and the hellhound tend to stay within 5ft of each other if possible, but if anything causes them to move apart it will disable the pack tactics, so advantage rolls will be separated to adjudicate later, in which case the first attack roll will be used.)
The ranger's sword illuminates as he casts ensnaring strike. He rushes toward Huarache, slashing at him with his bone sword.
18 for 4 piercing.
With his other hand, he sweeps his copper cloak over Echo.
//Rust Monster Cloak. Special case* (homebrew, but really close to the RAW) DC12 (raw) Dex save or Echo takes a permanent cumulative -1 to AC. If she reaches AC 10, she is destroyed.// (*this mechanic just treats Exho.like she's wearing nonmagical armor, but alo that she is the armor. Narrative or extra mechanical shenanigans may result in the latter element being reversed, but in theory the threat exists)
The hellhound, which is larger than a typical hellhound with coal-black fur, snaps at Cormac. 25 or 14 for 11 piercing plus 7 fire.
I guess Etrigan is in the barracks to the Northeast where the party short-rested, jumping in and out if the doorway?

Alright, with a FoG, I think a 17 passes. I hope. Tell me if otherwise. Huarache calculates the vines' trajectories and nimbly dodges, and Echo is just fast or something (her INT score definitely doesn't give her the ability to dodge the cloak through intellect). "You'd rather not talk this out? It'll be so much easier!" shouts Huarache as he fires up his hammer, swinging only once at the ranger, hoping to intimidate him rather than fully defeat him. If the first hit does not hit, then he swings again. Echo attacks her hellish counterpart.

Thanks, I missed that (stopped scrolling at recovered hit dice. Both tail attacks miss either way on either target.)
Huarache lands two hard blows, lopping off one of the creature's heads. Echo snaps at the creature, tearing away a chunk if flesh with her steel jaws.
The hydra looks to be in dire straits.

OOC: Cogema, I'm just curious, what kind of lycan is Cormac?

If possible Etrigan holds off his eldritch magic, ready to blast away with any sign of aggression from the newly arrived.

As the ranger draws his blade Etrigan follows through with his eldritch blasts (see post #3252).
Yeah, this is a combat, everyone should post actions accordingly. I intended to earlier but got distracted.
