DD is a success. Etrigan and (if he is willing) Huarache emerge other surface, though they stand ankle deep in the fens, the road is within sight and they can walk to it with only a bit of discomfort.
Sam, Echo and (narratively) Leann remain in the temple below. in the room on the top right.(Northeast)
(OOC: Great. So, in which of these rooms did we have all those fights? I don´t really recognize the room with the secret tunnel. Do the stairs at the top left lead to the surface?)
Yup. Most of the action there was in that foyer right at the bottom of the stairs. This is the map that is the board game found in the room where you just were, the north corner. It doesn't depict the secret passageway or the room where rhe statue kf Mocj originally stood. Those lay to the south of, straight ahead from the bottom of the stairs, and no other PCs have been there yet.
I mean, I think the issue of consent and unconsciousness doesn't apply to getting someone out of a situation where creatures are vomiting at you; Huarache would absolutely give consent for one to teleport him out of danger. The Tea Rule doesn't really cover that, but if you want to say that, I won't protest.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Standing in the fens with mostly his pride hurt Etrigan will try to determine if there are any immediate threats. Perception:10
If not he will assume his normal form, move out of the fens and onto the road where he will use prestidigitation to clean himself up and then proceed to the town close by. There he will try to find an Inn where he will eat, drink and rest. While alone in his room he will also re-summon Grygaxx, who instantly melted away in the flood of acid earlier. Grygaxx is still a bit shaken over the experince and will sulk in a corner of the room for the rest of the evening. Etrigan on the other hand will go down to the taproom to fraternize, looking for new associates willing to help them free the others, find the missing parts and to shut down that infernal temple once and for all.
(OOC: So did we decide on if Hurarache is with Etrigan or not? Either way Etrigan will try to recruit others and come to the rescue as soon as possible saving anyone left. What is the name of the town and the Inn? It could be a good place to hook up with your new recruits.)
(OOC hi everyone, I’m one of the new players, just getting onto the thread. Excited to join. I see some good players I’ve played with before. Tetrevess- human Order of scribes wizard, scholarly type).
(OOC: Hi, nice to have you Tesservett. You should know DragonDenn left though. I hope you brought a tank with you since DragonDenn played our pally and now we have a warlock (Etrigan), an artificer (Huarache) and a captured ranger (Sam). Or we could just change tactics :-) As soon as Wile gives the go ahead Etrigan could meet Tetrevess in that Inn I guess and we could take it from there.)
(OOC -OK- Sorry to see Dragondenn left. Well I’m no tank- but let’s see who else we get from the new recruits. I have a pretty versatile character I think. Tetrevess has recently arrived in the area in hopes to find lost arcane secrets. He can be hanging in the Inn’s common room reading and sipping tea when you arrive..)
<Welcome to our new player. I'll probably pick up one more player from the recruitment thread today.>
Eteigan appearing in the fens, looks around, trying to peer through the tall grass, he doesn't notice anything nefarious. Just then, something buzzes past his head, just behind him. He turns just in time to see a green dragon... fly as it zips through the reeds and out of sight.
Huarache lays next to the warlock, head held above the shallow dark water by the collar Etrigan grasps. Kneeling, he stabilizes the wounded tabaxi and slowly they make their way to the road. Once they have found their way to it, they glance toward the entrance to the Temple of Moloch, knowing not the fate if their friends. But, seeing the condition they find themselves and being uncertain if there is any hope for the others, they make the harrowing decision to head to town and see if they can muster some support.<
<Just to remind, you guys did nab some treasure back there. You can go back in there or return with what you've got to Moghadam, (architect of the Tomb of Horrors), who contracted you to find them. I'm good either way. He did ask you to bring back the gemsmith too, but that's a choice for PCs. IRL, only Sam is still in the tomb, and I'll just tell you so you're not worried about the player being stranded, he will be fine and can leave if he chooses>
The small town of Fanfoss is home to a a small number of tradesmen. Trappers and furriers make their homes here, traveling to larger towns to sell their wares. The locals meet and drink at a pub called the Begger's Hole, which sells a variety of mundane goods and a small menu of hot food along with trail rations, popular among both locals and travellers. Lodging is available. The villagers themselves seem quiet and more than a bit nervous, though not terribly surprised to see a the wet booted man and cat-person, as if strange and unusual occurrences are rather common in these parts, though Tabaxi are not known in these parts. One less timid individual sits at the bar, a traveller it would seem. <Tetrevess>
<Sam: if you want to do something else, just let me know, otherwise, you wake up in the barracks. You killed all the witnesses, so you're just a lizardfolk like most of the guards here as far as anyone is concerned. >
Samogri opens his eyes suddenly, his pupils narrow. He tastes the air.. there are other lizardmen, locals, surrounding him.
"He wakes. One says, noticing Sam's open eyes. Get him cleaned up and bring him to the master at once." comes the command of an authoritative voice further from the pile of straw on which Sam finds himself.
Sitting at a table sized for four, with parchments of maps open spread across it, there sits a young human man, with sharp features, green eyes, unkempt brown hair. and a 3-day beard. He is wearing a faded grey traveling cloak, high soft boots and green clothes underneath. By his side is a backpack loaded with gear and a long ebony staff. He looks up as you come in, catching your eye for a moment, then he turns back to the maps in front of him, taking a sip of tea from a tin cup.
At the the pub Begger´s hole in Fanfoss a man of indeterminable age walks up to Tetrevess sitting by himself at a table. The man has dark hair and eyes to match, wearing a fine but somewhat worn attire, blood red with strange black patterns and embroideries under a blood red cloak, high black leather boots and a dark rod tucked into his black leather belt.
"I wonder, good Sir, if I join you can, the name good Sir is Etrigan." Etrigan says, bowing slightly to the scholar.
”Tetrevess”. he says, and rises to greet Etrigan, looking him over with a keen eye (passive investigation 19) . “You seem like the adventuring type, in the midst of an adventure, if I guess right…. Perhaps you know something about a temple that is near this little village. I’ve been reading about it some.. but haven’t gone close to take a look”’ (he gets distracted by something in one of the books and looks down, then looks back up and smiles- then noticing Etrigan seems a little upset about something, he says ”are you quite ok? Here, have a seat and perhaps some tea- Dora- a another cup and a fresh pot, if you will!. Thank you dear…”. (To the server)
Etrigan takes a seat by the young man, helping himself to a cup of tea as he continues. "Yes good Sir, we need your aid to free our friends in another raid." He takes a sip and continues. "Also good Sir, some parts we seek about this to the cat you speak." Etrigan nods in the direction of a tabaxi present in the pub. "And last good Sir, but not the least, I need to slay the temples priest." He pauses briefly and studies the young wizard. "I see good Sir, you listen still, does this mean that you join us will?"
(OOC: If it´s ok this would take place after Etrigan had some time to rest and re-summon Grygaxx. Then he would seek out new associates in the pub. Tetrevess realizes Etrigan is a bit hard to read. He is not really upset, but quite possibly a bit deranged ;-)
Tetrevess seems for a moment, a little taken aback by the rhymes of the man, but seems to follow his meaning well enough. He wonders if this rhyming is is some type of magical curse or mental illness, or if it’s just another eccentric. Eccentricity was common in scholars at the library where he grew up so he was actually quite used to dealing with eccentrics- He decides to ignore the rhymes and act like the man was speaking plainly.
“Ah yes, The Tabaxi who is with you. I’ll go talk to them. As it happens- I’m looking for some adventure myself. And it sounds like you found the temple I wanted to see. I can come try to help you save your companions. I’ll have to hear more about the priest that needs slaying, but we can do that on the way to your friends.”
Tetrevess rolls up his maps and slides them into a scroll case, and closes the book and tucks it and the scroll case into his pack, and then, nodding to Etrigan, he heads to the Tabaxi, things in hand..
“ excuse me, Your companion mentioned I might talk with you. I am Tetrevess, at your service, Scholar of Candlekeep, professor of arcana and history, and dabbler in the arcane arts. It seems you have some companions in trouble? “

Room interior. Built in Talespire. Needs work, but has potential. Not totally accurate but I had it, so I thought I'd share.

<Anything from Sam or Huarache?>
Huarache's death save (he was not looking great): 16.

Etrigan did offer to dimension door Huarache to the surface. With tied initiative, he could be willingly transported before taking damage.
