"Well, then good Sir, I am afraid we will not leave until you´re SLAYED." Etrigan says defiantly and swiftly curses Thessalar (bonus action Hex dex.) He then hurls six rays of fire laced with necrotic energy from his rod. (Scorching ray) Ray:12 Fire:6 + Necrotic:1 Ray:29 Fire:9 + Necrotic:1 Ray:29 Fire:11 + Necrotic:5 Ray:28 Fire:9 + Necrotic:5 Ray:25 Fire:7 + Necrotic:3 Ray:19 Fire:7 + Necrotic:1
After which he retreats up the stairs, out of sight again.

Tetrevess throws a ball of electricity at Thesslar and his homunculus (fireball turned to lightning with class feature). 3rd level, DC 19 dex for half or take 30 damage. He then retreats 30' towards the stairs, out of sight if he can.
(OOC: Too late maybe, but if Barril dropped his initiative a bit Huarache or Echo could go in close with Thessalar and give Barril sneak bonus I think :-)
(I've never heard of 'dropping' initiative before and I've been told by previous DMs that you can't 'ready' both actions and movements. So, readying a shot for someone to be within 5', moving, and attempting to hide was not allowed.)

Hex still gives that sweet extra d6 on all of those rays, though, so there's that.
Huarache has the right amount of room now to use his blunderbuss, and he inserts a glowing pellet of white phosphorus into the barrel of his his blunderbuss as he yells, "Take cover!" to cast Branding Smite, a searing white-hot spray of bullets streaking from his firearm.
Thessalar has taken a lot of damage. He moves to a point 10ft west of Echo. He casts a spell: stinking cloud.
He hands his dagger to his homunculus, who flies (up to 40ft, total) up the stairs and hurls the dagger at Tettrevess 11 for 7 piercing, before returning back to the cloud. On a hit, Tetrevess must succeed on a DC 15 Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, the target is affected as if by the polymorph spell, transforming into a random beast or a creature it has seen within the last 24 hours (as chosen by the DM). This effect lasts until the target finishes a long rest.
<edit: aww! so close!>
DC 16 Con save or miss action this turn if in the cloud (except Echo).
Thesselar and the homunculus are heavily obscured.
Followoing Sam's firebolt, something begins to emerge from the water, crawling onto the beach. It's the Thessalhydra again. But something is in its huge mouth. It's a shimmering irridescent sphere, within which stands... Thessalar?!!?
See, player choices do matter. This amphibious creature can be permakilled by figuring out how to do so, but the players didnt pursue this, so its ere again. And the players have already met two Thessalars. If they'd talked to the one in the tank, they'd know that he thinks he's the real Thessalar. Original(?) Thessalar just let him out to handle the dangerous negotiation and possibly soften you up. Too bad he whiffed initiative. (One thing different to keep things fresh.. this time Thessalhydra stats are from Monster Manual expanded III (I told you I'd use it)). All these guys will share initiative, the dramatic entrance being the held movement (as discussed earlier).
(OOF, we are in trouble now, two of these guys plus the Thessalhydra which almost wiped us last time. I did not expect the Homunculus to survive my fireball)
Tetrevess saving throw (vs poison has advantage) 14
(I am not clear if I am in the cloud or not, since i went up the stairs. Let me know)
(OOC: A new map perhaps with the stinking cloud and the Thesslahydra. At this point I´m clueless about to how to defeat the Thessalhydra and suggest we retreat again if possible. I´m out of spell slots btw so I won´t be of much help until we have a short rest.)
Yrah, my brilliant map 0lsn hss been laywayed by my brilliant decision to break my phone, so updates in general will be slow for some days. Ive got my sim card in my old phone, so shouldnt make too muxh of a dent after this, but no S pen so I've got to draw maps on my laptop. The Thessalhydra bearing Thesselar comes ashore from a point North of the spot the other one started.
I think the cloud only covers sam and huarache, plus Echo, who is not effected, but it sticks around and heavily obscures.
By RAW, you might be right about the homonculus. I totally forgot to do his hp in area of effect. I could undo the attack and say he's dead, but then he's still got the dagger and rolling again would be mathematicslly similar to advantage since there was already a failed roll. How about this, Tess: the homunculus is dead, but the dagger is still with Thessalar, only now the first attack with it will have disadvantage. Or we can just let him be alive for the balance if this round, dying before he acts again. let me know which one you prefer, as it was an attack against you. Mechanically I think you'd prefer the latter, but the ootion is there.
FYI: I didn't mention it initially, but the new Thesselar also has a homonculus, but (and you wouldn't know this in game, but nor would you know what the other one did) he doesnt have a +1 dagger, just a nonmagical dagger. He is still Thesselar and he can still make things. (He's described separately as an artificer and alchemist). He has done so at this point as well as having found some clothes. Interestingly, he was not activated by the Thesselar who created himz but rather is said to have gained a nessure of sentience from exposure to the items yuve been collecting.
Etrigan unleashes two beams of crackling purple energy at the first Thessalar. Eldritch blast:12 Damage:14 + necrotic 1 Eldritch blast:20 Damage:11 + necrotic 2
"Well good Sirs, I must confess immediately I´ll leave this mess." He then turns tail and runs up the stairs.

I'd prefer the homonculous threw the dagger at me as it's dying act. I do sorta need a map update, cause I am thinking about a wall spell.
Edit: Nevermind. too much thinking involved with that.
Tetrevess and then moves to where he can see into the chamber, but outside of the cloud of noxious gas. He uses his last high level spell slot on a level 5 fireball (Switched to an ICE ball- a 40' diameter sphere of cold blasts in the area where the first thasselar was, hitting the 2nd and the hydra as well if possible, without hitting us). DC 19 Dex save or take 29 damage. He then reaches down and picks up the dagger the homunculus threw, (of course he doesn't know what it is, but he assumed it was not a normal dagger) and runs up the stairs as well...
