How does that avoid the aoo? Normally being in the darkness sphere would mean the attacker can't see you, thus cannot aoo. I thought it had blindsense, which I think negates that (at least by RAI) but im checking just now, it's actually blindsight. I still think that gets the aoo. I appreciate the creativity, but is it the case that you are saying you avoid further taking acid damage because you have homebrewed something into the game on the fly. It's cool, but it significantly alters game mechanics if that's what's happening. Could you elaborate?)
Edit: confused myself a bit. It's the paraelemntal with rhe aoo, not the slime. But then he can see so aoo as usual. Still not sure what's up right this one, but I'm posting monster actions and we can retcon as needed.
(@Wile_E_Coyote, Firstly, Gravity triggered AoO from the Slime by moving out of it's reach and placing herself beside Sam. She didn't know that the dark sphere had a creature in it, so you're right. Secondly, the action of using alchemical component on Sam's armor is not home-brewed. The tool proficiency section of 'Xanathar's Guide to Everything' explains the issue and requires an investigation roll against DC 20 to neutralize an acid. You can check out the cool mechanics.)
@InkedBee. I never noticed that table there. Sounds good. Pretty sure investigation is the right skill for that one. But, Sam's armor is a very rare magic item, so it wouldn't be effected anyway.
Here is an aoo from slime
Unable to parse dice roll. for 6 blidgeoning plus 23 acid, armor -1AC.
<Anybody want to try a history, arcana or nature check? Any of them might yield some info here. Religion would be a real stretch and I don't think k it applies to anyone on the group, anyway. Aside from nature, this only really makes sense to the PCs from Oerth. Not really sure if there's a mechanical benefit, so it takes no action consider it a freebie.>
The paraelemental recoils a bit as a few patches of ooze dry and crack before flaking away to the muddy floor.
Despite their efforts to recall anything about elementals, applicable to the situation. The best anyone can remember is a children's tale about two elementals who fought in a cave. They're otherwise a bit fuzzy in the details, but recall lines referencing "the crushing wave" and "the mountain that walks".
Gravity assumes that Tetrevess is abandoning the party and decides to catch him for confrontation. She addresses the wizard by saying: "You're not going anywhere till we find the components. Let's place a bounty on your head. Catch that!".
She tosses a platinum ring towards the wizard while beckoning him to move closer, then casts Warding Bond on him. "Prepare to answer questions like 'Dude, how did you end up with her?' since we're wearing a matching pair of rings. Haha!"
Ana will cast armor of agathys

Tetrevess is currently in the hallway by which the group entered. He can still act this round. Gravity and Sam are also up.
Gravity casts Absorb Elements on herself to reduce the amount of acid damage and storing the additional effect for her next weapon attack.

Steam mephit 1 and 5 slash at Ana and Gravity, respectively
1xA 9 for 1 + 3 fire

Players are up
Tetrevess again targets the blob with toll the dead:
4 dc 19 wis for half..
he then looks at the guide and asks “do you have the capability to heal?”
(oh my!! Bad rolls continue, sorry guys)
Ana moves away from the ineffectual mephit, daring it to hit her as she does, and shoots the para elemental twice again.
((Attack: 19 Damage: 7
Attack: 21 Damage: 8
Sneak attack 2 ))
Gravity's Dexterity Saving Throw x Faerie Fire 7
Gravity's Turn: Round 3
Gravity assumes that Tetrevess is abandoning the party and decides to catch him for confrontation. She addresses the wizard by saying: "You're not going anywhere till we find the components. Let's place a bounty on your head. Catch that!".
