Gravity stares at the mechanical guide with an expression of disbelief, mouth agape and eyes bulging outwards like an overly dramatic artist of telenovela. Then she starts an attempt to intimidate the guide by aiming her shortbow at the construct:
"You are lying. Do what I say, now!"
<I missed this post>
"Based on an analysis of your musculoskeletal construction, I estimate you can hold that bow at full draw for at least 3 minutes. Unfortunately, though I am able to permute time locally, I cannot transport myself to any other point in time by extratemporal paths. I must follow time's arrow, an absolute beyond the singular exception imbued at the time of my creation. While your arrow has a high probability of finding its mark, time's arrow is unerring. Kwalish presumed this eventuality would be off-putting to the adventurers he sent back to retrieve the parts of Lum's machine, therefore determining to withhold this information from them until such time as the items were secured. His design is to store them under my guard for the duration if the intervening time in a location where he will find them in the future. At that time, he will emerge from his sanctum to collect his prize and restore control to the derilect planar craft he discovered on his expedition. Now that the artifacts are in my possession, the outcome is inevitable. "
<for two of you, this news is not really as shocking as it would be for Sam and any other characters that orogonated in the Faerûn timeline, I imagine. They just don't get to visit the future. Sam is learning he cannot return to the time in which he was born and his contemporaries still inhabit. So, your motivations may vary regarding a desire to alter this situation.
<this is my fault, but I don't actually know for sure if you tried using the guide's time altering ability outside the door to Seodra's workshop back in the tomb of horros, but if you did, it said: "The master does not resort to feeble manipulations of a clock to open this door. You are not the master." Just in case it was missed, now we're on the same page.>
"He must be crazy! I ain't taking a risk for something that...that I'm never going to see in my lifetime"- Gravity moans and complains about her misfortune while cursing Kwalish for his misdemeanor.
(Reminder- the wizard is not near the scene- he’s casting his spells via his manifest mind). He’s up top and something like 120’ from the hole. He also has 1 hit point, so if the bear can reach him he goes down)

<I just needed him to do something so it would be your turn again.>
In the lab, Sam catches an odor of something foul, rotting and burnt at once, a fetid, putrid reek hangs in the air.
Sam (1 foot shorter than he was a moment earlier and patterned more akin to the guards than the shade of his own scales) notices something on a lab bench: a large tube with one bell shaped end and many controls on the opposite end lays on the table. It's heavy, but could be carried with two hands.
Suddenly, something on the table behind him, beneath a dingy grey linen sheet begins to stir. From under the cloth rises a growling hiss that gives way to a gurgle.
The writhing mass undulates, shifting the sheet. As it falls away, Sam sees, strapped to the metal operating table, a golem stitched together from the flesh of a variety of demons. With a roar, heard by anyone in this side of the temple complex, (though such a sound might receive less attention in this place than in some others, ) the creature flexes its reanimated muscles, snapping the chains that hold it to the table. Its mismatched eyes, one a vertical pupil set in yellow surrounded by blue-grey flesh, the other a glowing orange set within maroon skin, snap open to see Sam standing before the bell-ended tube.
Sam has initiative. <Go!> (FYI, any checks are instant, so feel free to interrogate the situation before committing to actions and movement if you like)
It looks like a device to project something fr9m the bell shaped end, such that one could point it and control to some degree the effect generated by manipulating thise controls. It seems to have a large energy source but appears to be of non-magical construction.
Fun fact: this golem is empowered nit by elemental spirits, but instead from souls wrenched from captured prisoners. Enjoy!
It looks like a bazooka. Thats a demon flesh golem. I don't know what else to tell you. The rolls are good I just don't know what looking at these things is going to tell you unless you tell me. Is there anything specific you'd want to know?

Bear claws wizard... 27 for 15 slashing.
Sam was running... I guess north to well, either the lake or the labs or conceivably to the demagorgon.

Sam will run to the labs but before entering will make himself look like the lizardfolk render he just killed
Then direct it at the manifest mind.
Isn't he literally large, like another size category?
discise self form gloom stalker magic forgot to say
The bear’s attack passes through the incorporeal form of the manifest mind.
