If there's a 100 GP pearl in the workshop, Huarache could Identify it. I imagine an engineer would have that, due to the ease of identifying stuff that way.
"Isn't that what is keeping the portal open?" Leann asks, though she truly doesn't know much about what is going on with it... "I'm all for going to aid them though, not sure what else to do at this point..."
(DM, Leann was going to check out that magical top the last rest we got, so that was the long rest we just recieved. Can you tell me what it does, if anything?)
You can't bring the apparatus of Kwalish. There is one in the vault (it's in the DMG).
I put it in a spoiler in the ooc. the top is a trinket of restoration, greater and lesser use different charges.
"The revelation of bone is a requirement for all that enter this sanctified space." The old monk says, gesturing vsguely to indicate the interior if the treasury in which you stand.
At this cue, tw monks approsch Omiy with menacing intent.
“Woah- woah- okay, I’m not judging - your body your choice,“ Omiy raises her hands as to calm them down, and waves at the various magic items in the room, “What are y’all planning to do with all the stuff here? How about helping us find Kwalish?”
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Seeing the way the monks are menacing her companions, but unable to hear the words, Leann steps through the portal herself. She ignites her sun blade as she does so. Not needing to be told these monks are evil she strikes at the closest one to her...
To hit: 11 Damage: 9 Add 8 smite on a hit. To hit: 13 Damage: 9 Add 7 smite on a hit.
With a surprising crackle of energy sparking from the simple tool, the fitst monk somehiw parries the radiant blade, but Leann strikes again, cutting down the monk. A swarm of monks push and shove, trying to squeeze through the door. There are 4 plus the uncowled elder (who looks the same as the others, except for his staff and hunched back).
A great commotion ensues as the monks move to attack. "Purge our sacred temple of these heretics!" The elder shouts.
Anyone, in or out of this place can join the combat. Monks have low initiative: all players post now.
Oh. Wow. That's a lot. Echo's gone there, no matter what. Huarache fires blindly with his blunderbuss into the flame and grabs some goodies for himself while he's here: whatever half-plate is nearest (he can't identify its bonus/abilities just yet) will just be thrown into the portal as he grabs other stuff, including a Cube of Force, a Decanter of Endless Water, any manuals or tomes in sight (heck, even the ones that don't look like magical ASI-increasers), any cloaks nearby (they probably won't be identifiable at a glance, but they're probably magical), a Portable Hole, and any odd rings or such. He's not going to be able to identify many of these at the moment, but if we get back through the portal, he can start ritual-casting Identify on all of these. On that note, he's going to jump through the portal with all of this stuff as the Fireballs explode behind him, using Feline Agility if need be.
Hondo turns around and starts heading for the portal after slashing the elder monk. He grabs Studded Leather Armor +2, a Scimitar of Speed and an Amulet of Health. Before jumping through the portal, he calls out, “Come on! Let’s get out of here!”
Leann grabs the best full plate armor she can. (+2 or +3?) The same for a shield, a +3 longsword, a ring of protection, and a cloak of protection. She then heads back through the portal, as long as the others are coming.
I forgot about the shield. If there's enough time to go back to the monastery, Huarache will grab any magical shield he can see, as well as just everything he can scoop into his arms. He's not scooping it into his bag because there may be a portable hole that he accidentally throws in there, and then there's a problem.
It occurs to me to ask: are things labeled? Like, if there are tomes and manuals about, are they readily labeled? If so, then Huarache is going to be grabbing a Tome of Clear Thought specifically, although there is someone who could make use of whatever tomes or manuals we grab.
Ooc: sorry i havent posted much today. I don't know how I'm not making this clear: your portal is a one-way trip. You're still in the treasury of the monastery.
Hondo's vengeful strike narrowly misses its mark, but Omiy's fireballs blast everyone near the door to the place (ooc: I should have given dimensions, most of you probably would have been in the blast area. Lol)
Omiy's necklace shot cleared out the ones in the room, but the ones waiting outside are flooding in before the smoke clears. They will attack en mass, (apply disadvantage where applicable, otherwise use the first roll. If I mistakenly attacked anyone who isn't in the treasury, just ignore it)
M1 x Omiy attack: 20, 22 for 2
M2 x Leann 11, 18 for 5
M3 x Shutorn 5, 4 for 3
M4 x Huarache 22, 23 for 2
M5 x Hondo 14, 4 for 2
ME6 x Echo 22, 14 for 8
On a hit, DC10 to escape grappled condition, (I assume that's Dex kr Str, yiur choice).
All the items are labeled in Common, so it's pretty clear from the name what they are. The number of fireballs on a necklace only depends which one you grab, they're all on the same shelf.
The monks all radiate heat like typical living humanoids. As you enter the room, there is no sogn of the gate that brought you here or the garage you left behind.
"Is that everyone, then?" The monk asks. "We wouldn't want to leave anyone behind."
The monk holding her has not yet let go of Echo.
Edit: so far Echo, Huarache, Omiy and Hondo have entered the portal. Leann, Sam, Shutorn and Sigurd can see whats happening, but the others cannot see them.

Omiy sneezes as she feels someone is talking behind her back.

Does Leann get another attack already, or did you mean all players except for her to post...
Hondo jumps out from behind Omiy, “Didn’t think you see me again, did you?” He pulls out his rapier and slashes the elder monk.
To hit: 20
Damage:8
Shutorn tries casting chill touch through the portal at one of the monks. Attack: 24 Damage: 13
Since we are here now... Omiy’s gonna grab necklace of fireballs on the shelf, how many beads? 7
She’s going to toss the whole thing at the group of monks. DC 15 for 46 damage.

“Fireball!” Omiy raises her arms and cheers, she’s gonna grab a vorpal sword for herself... probably a helm of brilliance too, then she bolts.

Well, perhaps we could stick around for a while. The monks, are they dead? If they are we can take our time and look around.
