In response to Grimm, Gideon smiles coldly and says, "Thank you. I believe you are not quite too far off the Long Road. To explain the meal, Grundy had spotted you in the marsh and cooked some extra dinner. No one else was expected, though I must say that people have been coming here from the Long Road quite often. And by accident too!" He chuckles at his last sentence.
After intently studying the food, Grimm perceives this: The food ripples like water before your eyes and transforms. The food you are eating is nothing more than uncooked oats! And that wine Nevets is gulping down is actually filthy water! The food suddenly tastes repulsive in your mouth. No one else notices this.
After hearing Boomer's response, Gideon smiles and says, "I have a servant named Magnus who is a champion at wrestling! I suggest you try a fall or two. Shall I summon him?"

Grimm, realizing that the food and drink in front of her is a glamour, tries to stifle a cough and a gag attempting to maintain composure from the foul taste in her mouth {Constitution Saving Throw??? 19 }.
Grimm looks up trying to catch Rose's eye with hers. Looking down at the food, looking back at her and mouthing "ILLUSION." Not waiting to see if Rose noticed her warning, Grimm states aloud, "Nevets - I wouldn't drink that... wine.... it has gone terribly stale... it's about as fresh as the marsh water outside." As she makes this claim she slowly turns her head to face Gideon in the eyes, no measure of expression on her face.

Suddenly happy he avoided the wine his chewing slows as he glances from the food to the host. Figures, of course this was to good to be true. "Our host is not being forthright with us it seems... at least not when it comes to the culinary experience we are having," Grimm declares to the room; then, turning to Gideon, "Why the trickery, Master Staltmarsh?"
Is it possible for a Paladin to cast a spell while attempting to hide the fact that she's casting?
Yes, maybe if you whispered the verbal components and do the somatic components under the table.

Immediately, Grundy appears and says "Come with me."

Grimm follows reluctantly; when we are no longer around Gideon, Grimm pointedly asks, "Why did your master insist on serving us raw oats and unkempt water, Grundy?" Just before asking she casts Thaumaturgy twice for two effects, one making her eyes go black like the darkest of night and again to make any open flames flare black in color matching her eyes, in time with her words...
Grundy looks bewildered at Grimm's question, then frightened by her appearance. "What do you mean?? My master has served you his finest ma_ (he stops himself) _ I mean meat!"
Grundy takes you through a door and up some stairs to the second story. There are three rooms, each identical:
"The chambers are small, though comfortable and well furnished. The walls are paneled with oak, matching the polished floorboards. A fire burns in the hearth at one end of each room, with two beds opposite a small table in between them."
"You sleep here." Grundy tells you. "Please excuse my master. He is under pressure after the loss of his wife and daughter. In the morning, do come down for breakfast." Then he hobbles down the stairs. Each room has beds for two people.

"We were all being fed uncooked oats and filthy water. The food had some sort of illusion on it. I'm guessing a pretty powerful one if only one of us was able to notice it... That, or I'm seeing things," Grimm states to the group; then continuing, "Grundy, Grundy, Grundy... I almost had him. He knows more about Gideon and this manor.... And I get the feeling that we can squeeze it out of him if we must."
Sighing aloud, "Something feels wrong with this place. Ideas?"
