“I think you said they took up residence in a nearby mine, Master Fredrock?“
She looks thoughtful for a moment.
“Do you think those goblins have been minding their own business in this monastery, maybe the cause of the haunting rumor? Could they become a problem for the village, too, being so close to it?“
Uldran unintentionally lets out a small sigh of relief, this newcomer to the group seems like the reasonable sort, he shakes his head a little and focuses on the monk- "How far did you say the monastery is from here? I think Alanis may be correct that it will pose further problems for the area."
"Master Fredrock, is the monastery on our way to your village?"
Fredrock shakes his head, "It's about half a day south west of the village. As I say we steer clear of the old place, and no trouble has reached us from there to date."
"I do not know what skills you possess," Nazead says, "But if you are in the business of removing such beasts then the temple would pay well for such a service. Goblins are not common on the Isle and the Clerics would know of their purpose here. Besides which, the monastery is a holy place and should not be left to such foul beasts. Perhaps when your business is done with the village?"
Nazead nods gratefully as he fumbles to remove a ring from his right hand.
"Return this to me at the Temple of Moradin in Duragath and I will see that you are rewarded for your work. Clear the monastery or at least bring a report of the infestation there so a larger force may be arranged for the task."
OOC: One of you may take the ring of protection and attune to it whilst it is on loan.
"Always did wanna learn the secrets of standing still," Mercwri says at mention of going to the monastery. "Might be a good place for a base camp. How far is it from the village, this monastery, Master Fredrock?" (OCC no doubt from Bedrock?)
He looks thoughtful, "After we deal with the current problem that is."
Randrak considers for a moment, "Hmmm, did everyone else escape from the monastery without injury? I wouldn't want to leave anyone at the mercy of goblins whilst we fight troglodytes."
He then points a finger at Alanis, "Thank you by the way."
"On the other hand, fighting goblins before fighting troglodytes might not be the best idea if we don't have time to rest before hand. Although, I am not suggesting we split up either."

“The secret we should never let the gamemasters know is that they don't need any rules.” ― Gary Gygax
„The monastery apparently has been abandoned for quite a while, with only Master Nazead‘s group having traveled there recently. It seems the goblins have not threatened the village so far. So, for now, the troglodytes pose the most pressing problem.“
„I agree with Hitticus on that. It is no trifling task we are dealing with, especially seeing that some of the goblins are capable of using magic, so we should gratefully make use of what help is offered.“
Randrak turns around to point at Alanish, "Ah, okay it's an abandoned monastery, the rest of his group is dead I take it? I was too busy interrogating this guy over here."

„Master Nazead saw his two companions being buried by a collapsing wall caused by goblin magic. It’s not impossible they survived that, but not likely. Either way checking the monastery out now would mean leaving this people without protection from the troglodytes.“
Nazead gets to his feet, gifting you all with another grateful smile. "I will make my way back to the City. It will take time to make my report and agree a course of action. Should you return to us within the week then that would suffice. See to your current charge first by all means."
He gives you all a deep bow then, "Moradin go with you." he offers the traditional blessing as he takes his leave.
Uldran watches the monk walk away, then turns to the group, "Well, I think we need to take care of the village first. Sounds as if the monastery has been abandoned for some time now."
Uldran falls into step with Alanis as the group continues on. "What did you give that monk to heal him? Was it a healing potion like the one that Fredrock gave us?"
„Ah no. I wish I could whip up an actual healing potion that fast. But since you were looking for a herbalism kit, you surely know that it is a lengthy progress.“
Alanis looks a bit sheepish, and nervous to boot. Pointing at her equipment she tries to explain.
“To a very limited amount I am able to produce temporary, but fast effects with my supplies. Had I not applied the salve at once it would not have worked.“
You all continue to follow the West Road for the majority of the day, stopping only of a brief rest and refreshments. Toward the end of the afternoon Fredrock points out a small but well trod path leading northward away from the main road. It snakes off into the nearby hills and you follow him along it for several more hours.
"Up ahead." Fredrock says at last as he comes to a halt. You se up ahead the path follows a rise over a small hill before dropping out of sight.
"On the other side of the hill you will find the village and... those creatures."

"I'm all for a little extra coin."
"We're good at killing goblins, I say we do it!", Freak puts in.

Freak looks interested at the ring, and he takes it to inspect it. "Does anyone have a good pocket so we don't lose it?"
"Why not just wear it? Or do you plan on dying or losing that hand ," he then storms of waitng for code of the knighter
