Panic is a mechanism that strengthens the gene pool.
The guard looks you up and down Mercwri before answering, "If it's gnome business you want to ask at the Red Lodge. South of here past the temple."
Between the attempts of Alanis to hide the goblin and Mercwri's distraction you are all ushered through into a familiar wide hallway and then left in to the Ambassadors office. Kriel stands behind her desk pouring over a number of parchments. She looks up as you enter and arches her eyebrows in surprise.
"Leave us." she commands the guards and momentarily you find yourselves shut in the room with her.
"With everything that has happened these past few days, I admit that I had quite forgotten you were due back. Can I offer you a drink?" she gestures toward a table on the far side of the room laden with cooled wine, bread and fruit.
Never being able to resist a dig at Randrak, Hitticus moves up next to him "Uncultured ruffian" he says as he pours a small about it wine and begins to taste it (Swirling, sniffing, swishing and the like)
Grub attacks the food with gusto, creating a spectacle that makes Randrak look down right civilised.
You all hear a sharp gasp and a click. Kriel stands behind her desk with a strange expression on her face. A mixture of curiosity and outrage. "Would one of you care to explain why you have brought a goblin into my office?" she says in a level voice and then her eyes widen and her crossbow dips as Uldran removes the covering from the dragon egg and places it on her desk.
"Is... is that?" she begins and Uldran nods. Kriel sits heavily in her chair the goblin forgotten and her eyes fixed on the dragon egg. When she speaks it is a high pitched whisper..
"Randrak isnt it? Be a dear and bring my a large goblet of wine and then.... then you can all explain what in the name of Moradins hairy arse you have been up to..."
Randrak shrugs his shoulders before pouring a large goblet of wine and bringing it over to Kriel.
"Well, to keep a long story short; we killed some troglodytes, we met a floaty creature, we killed a pile of flesh, killed some goblins and killed some more goblins.
We also met that crazy guy over there, he is the one that decided to bring the goblin along. Then we saw some butchered dwarves, it was grisly. Then we lost Freak. Oh and he disappeared before coming back with a dragon, I don't really get what that's all about and I think I carried him around in my pocket for a bit.
Reggarn moves closer to Grub, ready to defend him if necessary, but doesn't take his eyes off of the egg in case any harm may come to the egg as well. He will keep his mouth shut for the moment but will speak up if words are needed.
Kriel takes a long swig of wine before nodding. "So you returned the villagers to their homes and cleared out the troglodytes..." she puts down the goblet and opens a draw. With a heavy chink she pulls out a large bag of coin and lands it on her desk.
"I think we agreed 500 gold, did we not? Now master Reggarn please explain the goblin before I call my guards and have it and you carried away in irons." Reggarn you are familiar with the ambassador being a denizen of the city and you know she has little patience for your particular brand of the faith. However, she has always been professional and courteous to you and your brethren in the past.
"My Lady Kriel, this goblin is one of peace. When we encountered it I gave it the chance to flee or fight. It took the opportunity to flee. After our encounter with some rather less peacefully inclined Goblins, we left to find this one, called Grub, hiding near the mouth of the cave where one of my fellow clerics lay dead from the wounds of dwarf-made weapons. Grub informed us of who attacked. On our way back to the city I have learned much of this Goblins culture and that it is possibly the Drow Elves who are behind the goblin attacks and not the goblins themselves. I have promised Grub that he may go in peace and that no harm will come to him while I am around. I pray that you will allow me to keep my word to him. I accept full responsibility for this Goblin and if need be, I will remove any threat he may pose myself. He has proven to be a Goblin of his word while we have traveled and I trust him."
"Hah!" Randrak laughs. "A goblin of peace? Did you forget the moment where he delighted in the destruction of Baldenvelt under some leader known as 'Big Lugz'? The only reason why he seeks peace now is so that we don't gut him where he stands... or carry him away in irons.
Make no mistake, the goblin's actions have been for naught other than his own survival. If he ever made it back to the rest of goblins, he would join in the destruction and mayhem.
I'll give him the fact that he was smart enough to surrender and flee instead of facing certain death a fight he could not win. But he is not one to fight for us against his own kind."

"Dark dwarves? What nonsense is this? and that..." she points at the dragon egg. "Please somebody explain how that happened." for the moment she seems to have dismissed Grub as an irrelevance as she takes another long draught of wine.

Randrak turns his head to where Kirel is pointing, and spots the dragon egg. "Oh that! When we found the goblins in the monastery they were with that egg. I'm not sure what they were trying to do with it. Though I think that is why they butchered many a poor soul. So we killed them, and took the egg. Figured it would be better in our hands than theirs."
Randrak will take a moment to just check the surroundings using all senses.
Randrak you take a moment to focus on your surroundings while the group fill Kriel in on the happenings of the last few days. The room has changed little since you were last here. You do however pick up a sickly smell beneath the aroma of the crackling fireplace. It is a familiar smell and looking down your instinct are confirmed as you make out blood stains on the marble floor. There has been an attempt to clean up the room but the red liquid has soaked into the joints and cracks of the slabs. There was a great deal of blood on this floor and not long ago. You look up to hear Kriel talking to you all...
"...much to do with the civil unrest and the expected invasion. Take the evening to rest and I will come to you at the Gelded Goblin in the morning. If you are still willing to support our efforts there is much to be done."
Randrak nods his head in response to Kriel, he suddenly seems more sullen. He takes a couple of steps back, then begins to gesture to everyone else to follow him. He waits until everyone starts moving towards him, before he makes he way outside. Once outside he finds a spot away from anyone else. There he stops and waits for everyone else to catch up to him.

Alanis curtsies respectfully to the ambassador.
”Thank you very much, my lady.“
When Kriel’s attention somewhere else she whispers to Grub:
“Wait here just a moment, I‘ll get you some food.“
She‘ll collect some of the offered food, but definitely skip to wine, not particularly wanting to find out how well Grub can hold his alcohol.
Quietly telling him to take it slow, she passes him the food, hoping he will not make a spectacle of himself.
