As the party rages inside the tavern, a man bursts through the doors. "The Duke's outside! He's come to visit the town!" Several people get up to follow the man out to the streets.
You would all know the Duke to be the right-hand man of the King, a very powerful figure and a huge celebrity.

Characters: Lar-Dun Vanthaft - Human Warlock - Yawning Portal with Artymis, Moril - Tiefling Sorcerer - Dragondenn's Dragonlords, Paquinal Dalanthan - Eladrin Wizard - ShadowThorn's Out of the Abyss

When the halfling got onto the table, the elf with different eyes seemed startled, almost fumbling his mug. Perhaps not used to such raucous music, he almost looked ready to turn around and leave until he realized that it was in fact just a song, not some argument or the start of a brawl. He just... gawks at the performance for a while before news of the Duke interrupts his gawking.
As the patrons in the bar begin processing this information, the elf seems to have spotted someone of interest to him among the crowd. He slips through the crowd, approaching the seemingly unapproachable human who was trying to buy a drink for the singing halfling. He pats the man on the shoulder. "Vallen Kvolhaven?" He begins in a warm tone and tense grin, "Ah, it is you. I was starting to worry I would not find either of you after traveling so far. It was clever of you to arrange our meeting with the Duke's appearance as a distraction. Where is Ett- er, our other friend?"
He has clearly misunderstood that the appearance of the Duke was definitely not planned.
A small grin plays across Val's face touching the eyes with genuine joy and is gone again just as quick.
"Weizol, it is good to see a familiar face. I have not seen our friend since that night we were separated. We can speak privately of this later. Of the Duke I know nothing."
The boy in the corner just sit's there while the whole tavern runs out. As soon as most of the tables are empty, he looks hesitant, as if he is pondering a course of action, then he pulls out a beautify crafted lute and strums a short sorrowful tune.
As soon as the man goes back outside, the cougar rummages in her pack for her coin purse and produces a gold coin, which she places before the bartender.
"If you were to give me change for this coin," she asks, "would a silver be enough to purchase a basket in which to hold this food, or a segment of cloth in which to wrap it?"
(Is this the part in which I roll Persuasion so Crow can get her food to go?)

"Yeah, sure, I can get you a basket fer yer food." The bartender says, flipping you five silver pieces as he drags the gold piece off the counter. He heads into a nearby storage room and emerges moments later with a finely woven basket. "Here." He hands it to you.
Trumpet fanfare can be heard outside, and from the windows you can see several guardsmen in gleaming plate armor walking alongside a short man in fine silk clothing. People in the streets cheer as he waves to them.
Weizol L'varr looks around, noting that whoever they're looking for certainly isn't in the bar now with the crowd having mostly thinned. "Likewise, friend. Hm. Perhaps he is in caught in the traffic outside? The appearance of the Duke has brought crowds. We may be able to find him if we search outside then."
He shrugs hard, making the large traveler's pack fit snug on his shoulders and walks outside, trailing the crowd. Upon being hit with the extravagance of the Duke's retinue, he stops in his tracks, bewildered.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The movement within the tavern moreso than the announcement is what finally draws Y'reth's attention. She looks up and around, eyes narrowing, one hand automatically going to the pack at her feet, tugging it up into her lap. She tucks the bread on her plate into her pockets and then stands, making her way towards the door in the wake of the drum-playing halfling. She doesn't stray far from the tavern, goes outside just far enough to be able to see and scoff at the circus spectacle.
Saiba continues to eat while the patrons of the Tavern rush outside. Once the majority of the Tavern has cleared out and the commotion has mostly calmed down, Saiba will calmly grab his items and make his way over towards the exit with the others leaning against the threshold; his surprising height allowing him to see over most of the crowd towards the excitement beyond. Before he heads over though, he'd offer to help the bartender clean up the place or help with anything else they may need.
