Milo looks to Valor. "There are many types of balance. For example: my magic stems from a balance with nature." He grabs the last of his things and follows the group, taking up the rear with Lupe at his side.
"..and sometimes you fight in teams. More often than you'd expect we'd fight dangerous animals. The battle royal style melee's are exceptionally fun. Twenty plus fighters, no teams, blood everywhere!"
Donnar chatters on about his days in the gladiatorial arenas, and other less reputable sport fighting venues, as the group makes it back to the main trail. With no real thought, Donnar leads the way down the path towards quadrant #2.
"Speaking of blood everywhere... What exactly are we looking for? The goblins just happened to fall upon us. Pure luck." Stopping on the trail, he looks around for any clues as to what they are seeking.
...Menttal, Milo, and Valor spot tracks in the mud just on the other side of the bushes surrounding the camp. The tracks appear to be those of a large cat of some kind, and the number of prints and placement looks to be from more than one animal. The three of you point the tracks out to Donnar and Elrodin while they were looking up in trees trying to find their bearings.
Milo and Valor both agree the songs of birds and the scurrying of little critters indicate that whatever threat might have been passing through has since moved on.
All of you make your way back to the main path of the forest, where you left it yesterday to chase the goblins. After several minutes you arrive. To the right, deeper into the forward (East) and to the left, the direction from which you entered the forest (West).
oog Assuming you go right, and follow the path East, you will eventually come to the fork in the road. Left to go to quadrant 2 of the awesome map, or right/straight to go to quadrant 4. oog
After realizing the cats are not an immediate danger, the druid says, "It appears we may face some beasts as well as fiends in this forest." He pets Lupe in a friendly manner. "Might I suggest allowing me to speak with any creatures we may encounter? Some may leave peacefully, with a few gentle words."
Milo steps out onto the path with his companions. "We've been this way." He says, looking to the left. "Our best bet would be to move onward." The halfling then looks to Lupe, sending a telepathic message: 'Stay in the trees, but stay close. Signal if there is danger.'
Milo heads to the right, sticking to the path. Lupe moves into the bushes, keeping up with his friend.
Donnar follows Milo's lead without skipping a beat.
"Never a mistake to listen to a druid when wandering the woods. Much less, a druid AND a wolf. Im happy to let you speak first. And, if it comes to weapons, I hope you let me have the first stab! Hahah!"
Milo will proceed towards the fork in the road, with Lupe continuing along in the bushes. The halfling stops at the intersecting paths to take stock of his inventory as well as his companions.

I am willing to continue playing as long as the game runs. I don't mind lulls, as I understand life can get busy. If anyone is still willing to play, let us continue.
As the morning progresses, the heroes turn to the North (left) at the fork in the road. The early morning ground fog has burned off as the sun rises high during the later part of the morning and sneaks its way to the forest floor. The forest is pretty quiet as it is, too, just starting to wake up. A few tracks from random critters can be seen cutting across the main path through the forest. Nothing bigger than a squirrel or chipmunk. Simply walking the main path wouldn’t be considered clearing the forest by JDOG. As such, the heroes leave the path at various places, wherever they can find a break in the think bushes and undergrowth. Weaving back and forth across path and zigzagging between the towering trees doesn’t turn up anything worthy of being cleared.
After walking around, hunting, for the entire morning, the heroes grow hungry. Having only covered about a third of this area of the forest they will need some more fuel. At the next clearing that’s big enough for the three of them (and Lupe) to all sit and stretch out, they stop for lunch. They discuss the mysterious disappearance of Valor and Elrodin earlier in the morning and speculate what could have happened to them.
Perception Checks while setting up for lunch in this area
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
While setting up for lunch, the area seems pretty empty with no signs of broken branches on the shrubs and no signs of trampled ferns or undergrowth. Nothing seems disturbed.
oog: Now that I think about it, maybe that should have been a survival check? Anyway, we'll roll with it
An hour into lunch, the heroes each are leaning against their own respective evergreen trees, relaxed and full. As discussions and speculations die down and the natural quiet that follows just before the, "Welp, I guess we better get going.", Milo looks up with his eyes above Donnar. Blending in almost perfectly with its surroundings, a Giant Constrictor Snake is spotted hanging down from a branch above Donnar. Its body is wrapped around the branch above (~10') and its head is hanging down about 2' from Donnar's head. Until Milo moves or alerts his companions, the snake doesn't know that it's been spotted.

As soon as Donnar hears Mister Milo's voice in his head, his eyes seek out the druids. Without nodding, he gives Milo silent confirmation in the form of an intense 'thousand mile stare.'
The instant Milo speaks again Donnar makes his move, shifting his weight to the right and rolling! His right elbow and hip touch down twice before stopping and trying to spring to his feet.

The snake does not appear to react to the sounds of Milo's voice, however the movement of Donnar happens almost simultaneously to which the snake's response seems to have been triggered. However, since it was still in the process of coming down the tree, it wasn't in a readied position to strike. As Donnar rolls out of the way and gets to his feet, the snake increases it's speed down the tree and settle in its new position on the ground. The snake is huge, 30'+ long taking up a 15' x 15' space on the forest floor below the tree. Disappointed that it missed its immediate opportunity, it is now aware that there two meal opportunities in addition to it's primary target, but there are two additional threats as well. It's time to eat or be eaten...

Lupe moves a little further in the direction Milo points, staying in the bushes.
