Gillain doesn’t like this unholy room and quietens her thoughts for a second and reaches out with her feelings and senses...
((She uses the Paladin trait Devine Sense to detect undead, celestials and fiends within 60ft who are not behind total cover. She would also sense anything effected by the hallow spell (consecrated or desecrated) )).
Divine Sense details:
The presence of strong evil registers on your senses like a noxious odor, and powerful good rings like heavenly music in your ears. As an action, you can open your awareness to detect such forces. Until the end of your next turn, you know the location of any celestial, fiend, or undead within 60 feet of you that is not behind total cover. You know the type (celestial, fiend, or undead) of any being whose presence you sense, but not its identity. Within the same radius, you also detect the presence of any place or object that has been consecrated or desecrated, as with the hallow spell.
Gillain slows her breath and concentrates. She first feels a little lightheaded as she calls on the divine powers that are hers to command. Suddenly she is flooded with the feeling of darkness and death. A tangible foul stench seems to almost overwhelm her senses. Yes, Undead are nearby, watching and waiting.
Sighing heavily in relief, Ban regains her composure. The eladrin looks around sheepishly and looks to release the bodies from their eternal restraints. She retrieves her trusty tension wrench and feeler pick and works to unlock the shackles.

Ban is able to remove as many skeletons from the shackles as she likes. As the sound of bones falling and hitting the ground fill and the jingle of rusty shackles, nothing else happens as Ban releases the skeletons. Tiostands as a guard but nothing else disturbs the silence of the room.
Farris holds onto his weapon and keeps an eyes out as his companions search around for some sort of answer to this room.
"By my eyes, it doesn't look like anything has been moving around in here...at least not for a while. If these undead....or...dead-dead as they appear to be had been shambling around, I think I would have seen something on the floor."
I snoop around, trying to see if I can find out anything of interest about these corpses. Investigation: 20
Whatever once served as clothing that draped the skeletons has long since rotted away. Farris finds nothing but dried bone and attaching flesh on the ligements, keeping the skeletons assembled, as it were. Farris comes to believe that anything of value has long been taken by the Cultist that ran this evil place.
Gillain holds her shield up, and her spear out, in a defensive posture, while slowly revolving to take in the room again...
She says, “Somethings wrong... I mean there is a LOT wrong here, but not all is as it seems!... ...There’s a presence!... I can’t put my finger on it... Cant ‘place’ it... UNDEAD!.... .... Not these sad remains... Something... hiding... watching... Be on your guard!!“....
Bob frowns, blinking his eyes as he lets his spell fade away. "I didn't sense anythin' magical..." He casts a worried gaze over to Gillain and, seeing her ready herself for combat, casts Shillelagh on his staff and holds it ready. He straps his shield onto his other hand, leaving him unable to cast spells for the moment but prepared for battle nontheless.
Ban nods to Gimble in appreciation as they work together to release the dead from the restraints and move them into a more dignified fashion. In reaction to Gillian's words of caution, Ban quickly puts a hand on a dagger and looks about at the ready. She puts the idea to the group, "I'm all for taking time and being cautious, but maybe the best option is to rush to the heart of things and end this. We can't escape, you say, so we're trapped like rats, but we don't have to suffer like these people did." She gestures to the skeletons with a sweeping arc of a hand.
Continuing, she adds, "We can move quickly, quietly, and strike hard! I have a few tricks and techniques. A mirror and metal rod can help us see around corners. If things go South, we can make a tactical retreat with these babies."Ban takes out a small pouch that rattles with a light metallic sound - ball bearings.
Gillain looks around the room again one last time. She mutters to herself, “Where are you??...”, turning this way and that. She turns to the statue of the man and dog, “Where are you?!..... Show yourself!!....”.
She strides forward, almost to the statue, and starts raising her spear above her head, like she’s about to attack the man carved there...
She spins one last time and calls out at the walls, from her heart: “SHOW YOURSELF!!!”.
If no one moves to stop her, she will swing the butt of her spear around to connect with the smooth grey sphere held in the status’s hand...
“I agree with Miss Ban, we should press on and end whatever controls this house.” Tio walking to Gillain will place her hand on her shoulder “Perhaps It's the house you sense. We should hurry." If nothing happens with the skeletons Tio will begin to lead the others to open.
Bob seems reluctant to part with Gillain. He begins to totter off after Tio and the others but will be the last to leave the room in case anything goes awry with Gillain and the strange orb in the statue's hand.
Gillainswings her spear, striking the orb in the hand of the statue, yelling as she does. The orb rocks a bit and then falls to the ground. A deeper darkness than the room seems to flow out from the statue's now empty hand. The light from the torches the party is holding seems to lessen reducing the party's visibility to a couple of feet as the darkness encompasses the room. The enhanced darkness seems to fade but, it leaves behind 5 dark human-sized shadows along the walls of the room. From the closest comes a voice that seems to be coming from a great distance but non the less haunting. "No one may touch the image of He who rules. NO ONE!" With that declaration 5 Shadow advance on the party.

((sorry crossed posts! I just only saw the darkness bit, lol, sorry!... I’ll post again with initiative and actions but she will still Channel divinity))
Gillain turns again, to see what’s happening around her, the light dimming...
Without really thinking about it she screams again, “SHOW YOURSELF!!!....”. And at that very moment her spear erupts into radiant light (accompanied by the faint sound of choral angel-song!)... The light fighting the darkness to exist...
((Channel divinity ‘Sacred Weapon’))
As an action, you can imbue one weapon that you are holding with positive energy, using your Channel Divinity. For 1 minute, you add your Charisma modifier to attack rolls made with that weapon (with a minimum bonus of +1). The weapon also emits bright light in a 20-foot radius and dim light 20 feet beyond that. If the weapon is not already magical, it becomes magical for the duration.

Gillain’sinitiative: 7
Sensing some kind of presence leaves Gillain ready for anything and gives her an edge on the encroaching entities...
She faces the shadow that spoke, and her spear glows bright (as above), pushing the darkness away a little, and she says, “There is no place for the darkness here, any more!!... Leave this place and find your peace!... or be destroyed!”.
She tries to position herself as much between the shadows and her party as she can (but not within melee of any of the shadows)... And, as she concentrates, her weapon seems to shine even brighter and sparks with divine magic ((casting divine favor ))

Gimble:
initiative: 14
With the shadows coming at them from the walls—from where the skeletons were hanging—Gimble backs up against Gillain to face the ones behind her as she protects their front. With them scattered, he casts arcane magic at the closest one, hoping the force damage will fully affect these insubstantial foes.

Yes, Undead are nearby, watching and waiting.
In those few seconds of sensing undead, Gillain looks rapidly around the room...

DM: The party reacts to Gillain's statement, readying themselves for an attack but, after a few moments, no attack comes.
Does the party pres on?
Ban: Does Ban unshackle all the skeletons or just the ones closest to the door the party is in/at.
