Gillain will stay with the party, as they head back to the Tavern. But she agrees with Gimble that they need to get to the shops before they head off to do anything else major.
Ismark guides the party back to the Vine and to a table in the middle of the room. Currently, the Vine is empty, a place easy to have a private conversation. Ismark appears nervous as he sits down. "Wine for myself and my guests," He tells Arlik as he does. Ismark sits in silence until Alrik arrives with the wine and pours a glass for everyone at the table. Once done, Alrik leaves. Ismark takes a sip of wine and once he places the glass back on the table he begins. "I am glad you survived the Durst House. It has been a place of evil for a very long time in the village and has claimed the lives of many travelers that have made their way to Barovia. As for the servant and letter, you found with him I would ask to see the letter if you please." Ismark pauses for a moment the abruptly continues: "The letter is of little import. I have asked you here because I am desperate. I would ask you to escort me and my sister to Vallaki. It is imperative we leave Barovia as soon as possible." Ismark looks around quickly as he finishes, his eyes darting here and there, lingering on the shadows of the room. There is a crack and pop from the fireplace as the heat from the fire finds a wet spot in the wood. The faint smell of burning wood passes the party on a slight breeze.

Gimble:
Gimble is likewise interested in the answer to that question, and he adds one of his own. “Why do you need to leave, and so suddenly?” the wizard asks, “And would we have time to resupply at the Mercatile first?”

Bob feels dread grip him momentarily at the notion of leaving Barovia and the fire seems to respond to the mood in the room turning. In his mind the shadows were lengthening and he could almost hear that creeping fog whispering against the glass of the windows. It was all in his mind of course. Of course...
He takes his wineglass and toddles around the inn as Ismark speaks, ears open for any sounds outside and eyes glancing to and fro for any would be eavesdroppers, perhaps noticing Ismark's shifty behavior.
Ban nods as Ismark speaks and finishes his plea. She leans forward in her seat and looks him dead on, "Count me in. Sooner I get outta here the better, and I happen to make a trade of moving products and people. I can assure you will be completely satisfied with services I offer. But first, have you seen me before? I...", Ban's cheeks flush in mild embarrassment, "I don't remember exactly how I got to this place. I found myself at the Durst House you speak of, but I am blank on a short period of time."
Gillain tries to remember the task that the Count asked them to do, what seems like months ago, but feels like she shouldn’t mention that here for now. ((OOC: Were the party tasked with trying to find a way out? Or am I misremembering?))

Bob's senses are at their peak. He hears a passerby here and there. A few insects flying through the air. The distant ding of a bell from what Bob believes is a pushcart. All this and more comes to Bob's attention. Bob does not believe there is anyone else near or far trying to eavesdrop on the conversation, except maybe Alrik. Bob does spot the man peeking out from the backroom now and then.

Gillain recalls the Count had asked the party to help find a way to free his kingdom from the Mist that covers the land. She also recalls the Count had entered the Mist when he left the party after their discussion outside the Durst House.
Ban nods as Ismark speaks and finishes his plea. She leans forward in her seat and looks him dead on, "Count me in. I found myself at the Durst House you speak of, but I am blank on a short period of time."
Ismark looks at Ban. "No, I am sorry Lady but I have never set eyes upon you before. Elves are extremely rare in this land as are any others but humans. As for finding yourself here with no memory, that is not unheard of." Ismark tells her.
Ismark hears Tio's question but seems hesitant to respond. Finally, he says "My Father was well aware of this plan, it was his. I am a dutiful son and will carry out his wishes." Ismark continues: "If you need to resupply the Mercantile is the only place you can do so. I would not expect a fair price from Bilrath." he says. "As for my urgency in this task, I will gladly explain it all to you but not here. I suggest we go to my father's house and you will understand." As Ismark says the last part he lowers his voice for only those at the table to hear.
"I would be willing to help," says Gimble, adding to his friends, "Let's see if we can get a decent price from Bilrath for at least the equipment we don't want to keep, then follow Ismark as he requests."

With a disheartened, "Oh, well, my offer still stands.", the eladrin sits back into her chair and flips up her hood. Silvery hair flops forward on her face, to which she huffs and tucks it away back within the hood. Continuing to much on some breakfast bread, she reminds herself internally that it'd likely be best to lie low and inconspicuous if her kind aren't common.
Bob will keep a wary eye on Alrik in case he winds up following them, but he doesn't see much harm in him overhearing them considering Ismark was intent on carrying out their conversation elsewhere. He nods eagerly. "Aye! If ye don' mind us ditherin' for a while while we shop we'll be glad t' help ye! Gettin' ourselves kitted oot will make it easier for us t' do the job, though."
Listening to Ismark‘s words “I see you are quite stressed, Ismark. You shoulder a great burden it seems, but worry not. Like Mister Gimble said I am willing to help you and I’m sure Gillain and the others are too. We can meet you at your home, as we get some gear but first let me ask. Has the earth shakes happen before? I am curious as to what caused it.”
Ismark takes a deep breath. "No"he tells Tio. "This is a new development for this cursed land. Nothing like what happened this morning has happened before. At least in my lifetime."
Ismark looks to the rest of the party. "If you will allow me, I will accompany you to the Mercantile. Maybe my presents will cause Bildrath to give you a fair price."
(DM: I am assuming that the party will move to the Mercantile? Let me know if you wish to do anything else before.)
It is a short distance to the 40 ft. long x 70 ft. wide building and the sign "Bildrath's Mercantile" hangs over the weathered door. The party enters and there is a slight jingle from the bell above the door. The door opens to what looks like a small warehouse of odds and ends as the items "For Sale" are stocked randomly. Obviously being the only mercantile in the village and the nature of Barovia and its people has left Bildrath with little desire to present a pleasing shopping experience to the customer. As the party enters they see, among the shelves of miss stored items, a counter with a thick, short squat man sitting behind it, eating from a small bowl. He looks up as the party enters. If he recognizes Ismark, no one can tell as he greets the party. "Good Morning. How may I help you?"he asks.
”Greetings Bildreth, we are looking for supplies, and we have coin and items of value to pay for them. Do you mind if we look around?” responds Gimble.

Tio begins to look around, as Gimble introduces himself to the clerk. She looks for cooking utensils and weaver’s tools as some of her attire has been torn from certain areas. She keeps her arms to her back as she peruses.
"Of course!" Bildrath tells Gimble but eyes the party warily. Upon seeing Ismark Bildrath does seem to relax a bit but most in the party can surmise Bildrath is suspicious of any newcomers. Bildrath's attention turns to Tio as she looks among the items. "She isn't one of those "Plagued Folks" I have heard stories about is she?" he asks.
DM: Ok gang The Mercantile offers most things listed in the Adventurer's Gear listed in the Players Handbook however Bildrath sells anything he has at 10x the price listed in the Gear list and he never bargains. He has no competition and if asked why things are so high he will say "If you want it badly enough, you will pay for it." On the flip side of it anything you offer to sell him he will be hesitant but will eventually offer to pay 33% lower than the value of the item. Again he has no competition and there is nowhere else you could take it, to your current understanding, for sale.
