Gillain is hot, with perspiration standing out on her brow from her drills despite the chill night air. (Her hair though, still seems to be holding its place remarkably well).

She answers Ermren between deep, recovery breaths: “Monster?... phew.... in the children’s house?... hahhhh..... Most certainly I do!“, she says with a smile and a little spark in her eyes. She looks up at the house with a calculating look...

Ermren gives her a glum look before turning to examine the house as well, "I figured as much."

Gillain glances sidelong at Ermren with another smile, and claps a friendly hand on his shoulder. “You know me too well, friend!” she says with a determined look in her eye. “We’ll save this town, one house at a time if we have to!”. If he looks back at her, he’ll see that maybe she’s teasing.

Bob looks a bit crestfallen when the kids don't perk up at his aggressive cheerfulness, but his expression quickly changes when he looks over at the house supposedly haunted by some monster. "...Ah. I see. Well! I s'pose we'll... slay it?" He looks at the rest of the group uncertainly. It was what they were hired for in the first place, after all.

Looking at the house she pointed at Tio will study the oldest child.

Insight: 10

Seeing that the child is just scared "Very well, since we will end up there anyway. Why don't you lead the way, yes?"

The girl looks back at the party.
"I'm Rosavalda and this is Thronboldt," she says. She leans in a bit and puts her hand on the side of her mouth with her palm facing Thornboldt. "but I call him Thorn." she whispers. The little boy makes a groan and she shushes him again. 

"We don't know what the monster looks like but, it makes the scariest yells from the basement," she says. "Mama and Papa locked it down there but, It keeps banging on the door trying to get out." 

The little girl makes a face as if she is thinking real hard. "I'm scared it will get out and get us or worse, get Walter, he's our baby brother but the nursery is on the 3rd floor." 
She looks up at the party. "Are you gonna help us?" she asks. 

Tio gains no insight into the child. 

Dmitri looks at the children and does his best to suppress a smile at Rosavalda's confession of her brother's nickname. He pushes himself back to his feet with a brief groan from squatting to long. He says, "Let us go check on your brother. Yes? And where are Mama and Papa?"

"Lead the way little ones, I am quite sure my companions her will not abandon your plead of help." Tio will follow the kids as they start to lead us to the house. 

Even Bob won't let two children and a helpless infant face a monster alone, though his knees do start to shake slightly as they get closer to the house. Once again he opens his palm and fire leaps to life without burning his skin (Produce Flame), hopefully offering the children a little light in the gloom of the dead village.

(OCC: Moving the game along)

As each of you heads towards the house, making it through the small portion of the entrance to the front door you all notice the Mist. it seems to be moving behind you, taking up the spaces you once occupied until it obscures the street, the village, Everything.
As you observe this happening realization comes across each of your faces. it is the first time you realize the Mist is more than a natural phenomenon. It appears to act of its own accord. 
As you open the door you notice the Mist closing in and, the children you spoke with are gone.

“There’s a baby still in the house??” Gillain asks. “Then we should move quickly!...”. She dons her shield and checks over her armour. She’s ready to head inside when everyone else is.

Tio will  head inside. 

A wrought-iron gate with hinges on one side and a lock on the other fills the archway of the Stone portico. The gate is unlocked, and it's rusty hinges shriek when you open the gate. Oil lamps hang from the portico ceiling by chains, flanking a set of oaken doors. 

The oaken doors open into a 10 ft. wide and 15 ft. foyer. A shield hangs on the wall halfway down the foyer. The shield has an emblazoned coat of arms (a stylized golden windmill on a red field). On either side of the shield are portraits of stoned faced aristocrats. A pair of Mahogony-framed double doors stand closed on the other end of the foyer.

With the children vanishing and the eerie mist herding them into the house, Dmitri draws his longsword once more and sets his shield. He moves to join Gillain at the forefront of the party as they are funneled into the building by the Mist.

Bob tries to stay near the children, keeping near the back of the group as they approach the house. He cringes at the protesting hinges of the gate as it opens and turns away, realizing with a gasp that the children are gone and behind them is only misty nothingness. Seeing this spurs him onward and he enters the house right alongside Tio.

((OOC: Gillain is happy to be near the front, with her heavy armour and shield. She also feels confident she can protect the party somewhat with her pole arm master feat. But she is not very sneaky. Do we want to sneak or power through?))

Gillain nods at Dmitri and moves to the next door and tries to open it...

[We should approach cautiously and we can make stealth check if that is what's need but let's keep an look out.] 

"We should, keep our eyes open." Tio looks back "What happen to the little ones?" She begins to ponders "Perhaps this was a trap."

Tio will keep her eye open for anything out of place and or traps.

Perception: 16

Tio: there is nothing of note so far that you see. 

As you all enter the foyer and make your way across this short room you hear a door shut. You turn to find the door to the foyer entrance, that you came through, has closed on its own.

Raising his hand up high to light the way Bob walks alongside Tio and Gillain at the front of the group, finding comfort next to the much taller ladies. Still, he nearly jumps out of his beard when the doors banged shut behind them. Perhaps just to distract himself from the terror he was feeling creep into his mind he focuses on the shield hung up on the wall, trying to place the coat of arms.
