Quiller grunts a bit but picks up his pace and joins the others. "Anybody know how far we've left to go? We gotta deliver the wagon before we can go chase after those bandits, though I suspect they might be a bit more profitable, provide we find their loot that is."

As the party is getting ready to continue northward with the wagon, Khoraj can be seen talking to the guards. As the party gets ready to move on, the nobleman comes over and tells you he will be leaving your party and journeying back south with the carriage.
Without Khoraj and minus one pony, the party begins to move northward again. In response to Quiller's question, Budeim responds "I was hoping to get to the border by the end of the day today, but, between the goblins, getting our wagon stuck, and helping these individuals out, it looks like we probably won't make it before tomorrow. But, we're getting close."
The remainder of the day passes without incident, with the hills getting larger as the party moves northward. Finally, after ascending and descending one of the larger hills, Budeim calls a halt for the night. While the rest of the party is making camp, he can be seen fussing around the wagon for a few minutes before going over to his horse. He then comes over to the group and says "I need to meet our contact tonight, so I'm going to ride ahead. I'll be waiting for you tomorrow at Mercer's Tavern. It is just south of the border. Tin knows where its at and can show you the way there. Not that its hard to find."
With that, the merchant mounts up on his horse and begins riding to the north.
"That inn was called the Dancing Goat I believe. I don't like him going off alone like this, but we can not follow him on foot while he is mounted. We should be carefull with the watches. There is always trouble close to borders, and those horse thieves might be lurking around. It is possible they know we had interacted with that noble and the guards, and it might be posssible that because of that we might be targeted."
The night passes without any incident. As everyone is getting ready, Tin gets his horse ready and says to the group "Well, tonight we should be sleeping in a real bed. Budeim and I are really grateful for your help."
The sun is out, without any clouds in sight. Although a few muddy spots still exist along the road, the party has no trouble avoiding them as the group moves northward. An hour or so before mid-day, Tin's horse, Sunchaser comes to a complete stop. After several attempts to get the horse moving, Tin throws his hands up in frustration and says "Keep moving. I'm sure this stubborn idiot will allow me to catch up with you before you reach the Inn."
"Are you sure? As much as I'd like to sleep in a real bed tonight, it'd be a real shame to get split up and taken apart by bandits on the last leg of the road."
"No, its fine. As you should have noticed by now. When Sunchaser wants to move, he can go alot faster than the wagon. No need to slow the wagon down while he munches on some grass. We'll probably have caught up to you before mid-day. And, the bandits aren't usually out at mid-day. They prefer to attack either early in the morning or late afternoon."
The party keeps moving forward, while Tin tends to Sunchaser. Near midday, the party comes to the base of a steep incline, clearly the largest hill the party has encountered on the road. The going up the hill is slow, but, the party eventually makes it to the top. As you crest the hill, the goal is in sight.
The view before you is quite impressive. A large valley covered with grasses is present immediately in front of you. The road before you heads directly towards a small cluster of buildings is present in the center of the valley. To the west the party can see the buildings and wall that mark the border of the Sanbeyonne kingdom, with the greens of the grasslands fading into the browns of the desert.
To the northeast, the border of the Kardagen Empire is visible, with a large compound visible behind the wall that marks this edge of the Empire. The verdant Tralbibo Valley is present beyond the wall.
To the north, the Belgrund Mountains are visible, while east of the Tralbibo Valley, the Blokendrohl Forest can be seen.
The descent into the valley is uneventful. As the party begins to cross the valley floor toward the cluster of buildings, the remains of rusted weapons, armor, and skeletons of both men and horses can be seen to the sides of the road. Any investigation of the weapons and armor show that they are rusted beyond repair.
When you reach the buildings, you can see a crossroads of sorts, with a sign at the crossroads. The sign indicates that straight ahead is Mercer’s Tavern, while to the right is the Kardagen Empire, with the Sanbeyonne Kingdom located to the left.
"Yeah he's probably fine. It's been like this the whole trip. Besides a single rider, especially on an old nag like that, isn't much of a target for bandits. Now a wild beast..." Quin kinda lets his words trail off.

"Do you really think that he is just letting his horse eat grass?" Quiller asks. "I mean, I think it is just a bit more than passing strange and have wondered if he hasn't something . . . odd going on. But it could just be my paranoia and anyway, we're just about here and I could use a drink, maybe a tub of hot water and some soap, too. I still kinda stink of goblin." As he walks along he will keep his eyes open for anything that seems odd or out of place, any piece of metal that shows minimal or no rust, the gleam of a gems perhaps.

"Hmmm, seems like this is, or was, a contested piece of land at one time, I wonder who was doing all this dying?"
"understood." Lukas, somewhat put out due the circumstances of the prior hours, starts his march with the wagon.

Quin offers to take first watch. He spends it quietly patrolling the perimeter of the camp keeping just to the edge of the fire light.

"Agreed. Lets keep moving. A warm bed sounds great to me."

Mercer's Tavern
"Ahhh.....About time. Lets get to it!" Quin sighs and strides towards the tavern happy to be at the end of the journey.
