Vrakqrin looks puzzled as he looked at Einhard, he then said, "It seems that i was misunderstood, I was gesturing to the drow to finish the mutton on the table so we could leave. Why would we eat you?!" Vrakqrin laugh so hard all the other patrons looked at him.
Vrakqrin glances around and notice that the eyes are fixated on him, "Well! Time to go!"
He walked outside the tavern and saw the little half-elf, he then said, "I still haven't got your name? I am Vrakqrin, a warlock it's nice to meet you!".
He then reached out his hand for a handshake gesture.
Esther stands as sees the pale dragonborn approach. "Ah yes, it's nice to meet you, sir Vrakqrin." Promptly bowing before taking his hand, minding the long claws, she continues. "My name is Esther. I don't really have a last name. Um, I hope we get along. I'll do my best to help with the job. Though, I don't think I'll be very helpful when it comes to combat."
Thinking back to the hours of Cleric training, having never progressed as far as the others in the class. Fighting isn't Esther's forte, she would rather have her head stuck in a book. She's not completely useless, but she's not an expert either.
"Did you all discuss a plan for what will happen tomorrow?"
Dovarax composes himself after hearing Einhards confusion as he could not stop laughing,
"I like your spirit halfling!".
All his things gathered he follows Vrakqrin out of the tavern and meets up with him and Esther. He slaps Vakqrin on the back with bit too much force as the ale has done its effect. He looks at ester and clutching the crest on his chest and bowing introduces himself:
"Hello there I don't think I introduced myself the first time we met, Im Dovarax of clan Dardendrian its my honor to be with you on this adventure".
"Ha plan?! I never tend to plan much of anything." he scratches the back of his head and smiling says."I guess that is why Gundren chose you to be in this party".
"It's a pleasure to meet you, sir Dovarax," Esther bows politely
Her headache intensifies as she listens to Dovarax's last sentence. "I-I guess so..." Well, at least when they make their move, it'll be easier to navigate her escape if they don't have a backup plan. Or he could be saying this so she doesn't anticipate their premeditated schemes?!
Just as when Vrakqrin was going to answer Esther's introduction he suddenly jerk forward, luckily he manages to stand firm as Esther was close to him. He looked at Dovarax with a blank expression on his face. Seeing that his kinsmen slightly drunk he did not mind it and just laugh wholeheartedly.
"hahahaha, you should really handle your ale my friend," Vrakqrin said. "Well don't be too hard on your self Esther, I'm sure with your craft we will be thru tomorrow's adventure in a snap. Oh and yes with that plan, we still haven't had the slightest, maybe just guard the important parts of the wagon, one at the back, four at the side of it, and 1 driving it so that our driver is armed"
He then checked who's out of the tavern and asks everyone, "What are you doing guys now, it seems that we still have tonight as our free time. Wanna check out the town?"
Dovarax using his staff as a walking stick, stretches his back and comes back to the normal standing position:
"I agree it could be fun to ask some of the villagers and traders what's been going around town, and if they know anything about the route we are taking"
"Should we head to the market?".
Dovarax point to alley he used to get to the tavern
Esther stepped away from the towering figure, tugging on the edge of her hood. She almost had a heart attack when he lost his balance. Even though it is the middle of the day in public, how could she carelessly let her guard down? She was almost crushed to death.
"I would like to accompany you if that's alright." Though, Esther isn't sure if the drunks were sober enough to formulate a plan. She will just have to fill in the blanks and details.
Quickly agreeing to make your way to the market, mostly as a group (leaving it open for people to deviate if they wish). You head down the alley Dovorax indicated with his staff. Making your way to the center of the city, and inevitable close to the market. You smell it, long before you see it. The pungent smell of animals, both ready to eat and livestock for sale. Then the low murmur of lots of chattering voices reaches your ears. Once you arrive, it seems that there is a shop or vendor for just about everything. You all notice a sign off in the distance on the southern side of the market area that reads ‘South Copper Side Provisions.’
”If you all don’t mind I would like to go to the see where are journey shall start tomorrow, it would be good to get and idea of the journey ahead and if they have had any trouble in the past with their deliveries, if anyone would like to come they are more than welcome to follow, if not I say we agree to meet there by the days end.”
As he then turns around and starts walking towards South Cooper side Provisions he thinks to himself
“I’m so excited to go another adventure my powers have been growing since I’ve left home, and training with Master Amon has deffenetly have it’s effect”
Continuing his way to the provisions shop he comes to a stop, his body starts to tremble and he feels a power he hasn’t felt before, as time feels as it has stopped, the blue in his eyes shine bright, and then everything is at peace.
“That... that was weird.” He whispers.
As he come back reality, he continues to the shop and enters giving his regular bow he says :
”Good day shop keeper! I am Dovarex of clan Daardendrian, it is an honor to meet you, how do you do?”
As Vrakqrin arivved at the market with his party the very first thing he notice before even making it there was the very pungent smell, "ugh, I hate this kind of places".
Once his there he listened to Dovarax and decided to go with him, "I'll go with you brother, It's good if we can check out the place we need to go tomorrow!".
Vrakqrin didn't notice anything weird happening to Dovarax as he felt something and he asks the vendor he continued it for him, "we were in need of direction, do you know where the place of business of a dwarf named Gundren Rocketseer? We have a quest tomorrow for him and we will check the place out. Also is there any news on the road from Neverwinter to Phandalin? Perhaps there is something that might prevent a wagon of supplies to be delivered."
Esther quietly trots after the dragonborn, scanning all the different stores they pass.
Coming to an abrupt halt when Dovarax starts to tremble but before she can do anything, he continues on his way, mumbling something under his breath. She wonders what that was about? Too nervous to ask, Esther follows him, bowing politely to the shop keeper as Dovarex greets him. She'll have to watch out for him.
"I am going to mingle with the crowd. Thanks to the monks at the monastery I should have everything I need. They were all very enthusiastic about making sure I did not forget anything." Einhard pats the straps to his bulging backpack and sets out to mingle. "I will see everyone in the morning," Einhard calls out with a smile and dashes off into the crowd.
Einhard will meet the party at South Copper Side Provisions in the morning.
OOC: If Einhard can't get free lodging from his Shelter the Faithful trait of his background just let me know if I need to pay for a room.
"Well, if you'll excuse me..." Ilmryn announces to the group. "I'm going to go and not get myself into trouble for the next couple hours. No promises, though." He says turning and beginning to walk away. "I'll meet up with you all at day's end." As he left the group, Ilmryn considered how to make use of the next few hours. Suppose he could go and ask for the information Dovarax was wondering about ahead of the rest of the group. Be of some use early on in their adventure...
Dovarax eager to learn about where he is, doesn’t let the shopkeeper answer as he asks abruptly:
” I also hope you could give us some direction around town we are new to the are and this place seems to be one of the bigger cities I’ve been too, any places that we should definitely need to check out? ”
Dovarax, as you walk into South Copper side Provisions, you notice a rather short human male that appears to be middle aged. His oval and rather forgettable face his framed by his short curled brown hair with rather remarkable green eyes.
Seeing you enter and hearing your first line of dialogue he opens his mouth in an attempt to answer your question. He is stopped from answering by Vrakqrin’s attempt at furthering the conversation. Though before he is able to address either inquiry, Dovarax quickly continues with his next question. The shopkeeper waits a few moments more after your question before he begins speaking.
“Is it my turn to talk now? ... Good! Pleasure to meet you Dovarax. My name’s John. I’m doing well this dreary day. Never much cared for rainy days.”
He extends his hand towards Dovarax first for a handshake, then towards Vrakqrin. John keeps a watchful eye on Esther and Kildrak whom have yet to say anything to him. But he gives each a respectful nod.
“Gundren Rockseeker you say? Why yes. I do have a wagon of his ready to head to Phandalin tomorrow morning. Should be ready to go at dawn. He told me to keep an eye out for a few ... how did he put it?” John pauses to scratch the stubble on his chin and then snaps his fingers “Crazy adventuring types. That’s what he said. I figure that must mean you four, you lot definitely fit that description.” He gives a hearty laugh at what he considers an amusing sentiment, regardless of if the four of you find it funny or not. He continues after a moment or two to stop laughing.
“Things to do around town ... well there’s almost always trouble to be found if you look hard enough. But if you’re going to be taking Rockseeker’s wagon to Phandalin tomorrow... I wouldn’t go looking for nothing tonight. The market here is a pretty good place to find almost anything you might need for the journey. Maybe a health potion if you’ve enough coin.” Then addressing Vrakqrin’s question “As far as news ... there’s always a chance of being attacked by goblins or bandits or who knows what along the road. That’s why Gundren hired such hardy looking souls such as yourselves.”
He looks around at the four of you, “Now if you all don’t have any other questions, I really need to get back to work getting Gundrens wagon ready for tomorrow.” (Unless someone else interacts with John he will get back to work)
Einhard, you are able to find a temple to Deneir without much trouble and they happily provide you with shelter for the evening.
Ilmryn, let me know if you are up to anything specific.
Processing the information, Esther musters up the courage to ask. "Um, pardon me, Mister John. But would you like my assistance with preparing the wagon?" More specifically, she wants to investigate what they will be transporting and the provisions they have. "Though I'm not sure if I'll be of much help," she frowns down at her scrawny arms.
