Nimsey looks over to the fireplace where a small portraits shows a younger her together with a respectable looking halfling man and her three oldest children when they were toddlers. A shadow passes over her face as she says with a sad voice: „There is a priest in Bryn Shander who can bring back people from the brink of death, but the way he explained it to me, was that his skill is very limited. He said that either he needs to be there right when it happens or someone needs to magically preserve the body straight away. He said something about the body dying and decomposing the moment the soul is separated by death. He was saying a bunch of other stuff, but i must admit that i wasn‘t really listening at that moment...“
She takes a deep breath and turns her attention to the items on the table: „ This crystal looks like one of those continual flame thinks that rich folk uses to illuminate their mansions. But this one doesn‘t flicker like a flame does, more like a permanent light spell. We got a bunch of those things in Bryn Shander. Duvessa had to fork out quite some coin to get a couple of them installed down there, but with how long this curse is going on now, i guess they payed for themself by now. That plate i have no idea, looks like some kind of silver alloy. I bet the dwarfs down in the valley could tell you more about it if there is anything to it.“
"Aye, that be correct. The priest is a wise man. My lord's blessings weren't enough to preserve Boga, but I'm feeling stronger every day. My father could bring someone back up to a Ten-day after death, if I just pray harder maybe I can get there, at least enough to preserve him."
In his enthusiasm, he sprays nuggets of porridge as he speaks, much of it lingers in his scraggy beard.
"It's well done this." Gilgin inspects the crystal, trying to identify what type of gem it is. "If you need any more, I can try to make some for you. As long as you provide the rubies, I'll do it as a favour to Hifu, and in the memory of Boga. I'll have to see if Dumathoin has blessed me, but me pa could do something similar.
On the plate, Gilgin seems nervous, sweating and stammering "Ha, nah, we don't need to see no...no dwarves. We got all the dwarf we need here, right pals? I'm sure it's just an ornament, we can either sell it or try to remove the bonds to get to that silver for Nyx's protection magic."
Hifu brings out the bow and says "I'd like to get a bow string for this and figure out a little more about it, also some arrows. Gilgin, can you tell any more about this?" He brings the bow up and puts it on the table.
"Nimsey, did anyone post a reward for this White Moose? I'm glad that we could help Lonelywood, but I would never turn down a little coin in the pocket."
"No weapo on the kitchen table please." Nimsey tells you. "As for the reward, i'll have a look in the books what i can do for you. As for bowstring and arrows, do you rember Hoid the old fletcher, he used to sit at the lake, make his arrows and tell fairytales of old, he is still alive, bit more grumpy though but i suppose that's what old age and perpetual darkness does to you. "
"Sorry Nimsey, I'll seek out Hoid in the morning." Hifu pulls the bow off the table. *Yawn* "I'm sorry Nimsey, we are bushed! Can we use your upstairs to sleep again? I feel like I could sleep for a week." If others agree, we will head upstairs and sleep for the night, Hifu holds onto the bow, hoping to dream about the previous owner, and learn more about the bow...

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
After your meal, you retire for the night like a few days ago when you stayed here. In the morning Speaker Hudley gives you a small bag with 75 gold and a letter.
„I have a friend in Bryn Shander, an old gnome named Copper Knobberknocker, he is an alchemist and tinkerer, i‘ll call in an old favour that he owns me and he will set you up with some potions. I don‘t know what he got at the moment because of the weather, but it should help you. He stays at the Temple of the Morning Lord. Just a warning, the priest there is a little obsessed whith who the morning lord is. Best to not mention any deities there, just go with the title and you‘ll be fine.“
You get a long rest, and it is early morning now. It is still dark outside.
James finally looks himself again, a little more energy in his step, as he gets up for breakfast.
James goes and checks on his dogs and gets them ready to move out.
Coming back inside, James replies to Nyx' question.
"Yeah, we definitely owe him that. Do we need anything else before we head out? I'm going to bring the sled this time, so we can more easily bring Boga's coffin back with us."
“I’d like to see Hoid about getting this bow strung and some arrows, then I’m ready.” Hifu is stretching and doing Dragonborn monk yoga and attack form poses when you wake up.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Gilgin sighs, shaking his head and blinking hard as he wipes the dribble from his beard. "Yeah, those Lathander nuts are a bit intense. Tried to convert me back in Bryn Shander after a good knees up. I growled at 'em and they left sure enough. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrehehehehee" Gilgin juts his lower teeth forward to show what he did, but his growl turns into a high pitched laugh.
"Yeah, off to get Boga's body, I don't think I've got the power to preserve him just yet, but if you bring a dog or two we can drag him back. While you sort out that bow, I might try and grind up some more silver for Nyx, in case that druid makes a return. Bring out yer Silver, it's donation time!" He untucks his undershirt, making it into a bowl shape as he approaches each member of the party, awaiting any silver items they might put in. After passing the party members, he approaches Nimsy and the children as well, nodding suggestively as he gestures to the silver donation pile. "Right, I'm gonna need a workspace. Speaker, would ye mind nudging that plate over a bit?"
Hifu brings out the arrowheads, “How many do you need? I don’t know how much silver is required. Two or three I would like to fit to shafts if possible.”

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Those arrowheads are silvered, not pure silver, the same with the moon crest from the mirror, it is a silver alloy. But, you just got a bag with 75 gold, Nimsey can exchange 5 of that for 50 silver easily (the letter is for Knobberknocker, reminding him of the favour that he owns Nimsey). So Gilgin is grounding that into powder. Meanwhile James, you collect your dogs and they are all over you from joy, because the missed you. The kids took good care of them and they all look healthy. Hifu you search out the old fletchers house and an old looking halfelf, trimmed gray beard, sagging pointy ears, spotted skin gnarly fingers opens the door. It is Hoid pretty much exactly as you remember him, maybe looking even older, but that may just be the lack of natural light. :“Jeahh? What can i do for you?“
Kravek is oddly quiet since your return from the forrest and upon asking him he just replies that everything is fine.
Since you are in town, you may want to top up rations, torches and or other adventure gear. Normal gear is available, so just fill up and deduct the money. Just remember, torches, oil and lanterns double the standard price, food/rations normally 4x but Lonelywood is small with good hunting ground and Nimsey s kids help you to get a good deal so double only
Nyx what are you up to?
the bow: A Moonelf short bow, once per Long-rest you speak a command word and the bow produces magical arrows for one minute. The arrows do 1d6+Dex mod radiant damage and if you hit a shapechanger with it, they need to pass a DC 15 Con save or revert back to their natural form (this includes polymorph and wildshape)
Nyx is keeping to herself and observing others. She's also playing around with all kinds of applications of prestidigitation absentmindedly, wondering what else she could do. (essentially not taking an active part at the moment, but wondering about and exploring her growing powers)
"Hoid, can you string this bow for me? I'd also like 20 arrows, a quiver, and some shafts fitted for these silvered arrows. Can you do that for me? By the way, did you hear, we handled the White Moose that was plaguing Lonelywood!" Hifu looks excited, asks him how much he would charge for this.
Awaiting James and Hifu's return, Gilgin loafs about the house, gorging himself on Nimseys cookies and pestering her for ale. He sings and laughs, telling all sorts of tales to the children, of old crones who lure children into the woods not to be seen for years, elfs who change appearance based on their mood, and a land where singing, dancing and revelry never ends. He tells these stories with the utmost serious, and when they remark on how fun it could be his expression turns sour. "It's no fun! Imagine, singing and dancing for years with no sleep! This is not a fantasy, it's a nightmare!"
Gilgin your stories inspire the kids to make robes with blankets and dance around you, once your mood turns more serious, only the oldest will stay and listen while looking after the youngest. The other three will run of and pester Nyx.
Hifu, Hoid will invite you inside. He will take a look at the bow: “Huh, fine quality that is, i would have used horn instead of this quartz for the tips and the grip, easier to work and more flexible but whatever. “ He grabs your hand and holds it up to inspect your arm before he goes to a shelf and searches through a box with several strings. He takes one, fixes the bow between his legs and bends it into shape to attach the string. He tosses you the strung bow back and grabs a single arrow from one of the many quivers “Here, try that one...” He has a good eye, because the length feels perfect for you. He simply nods and passes you the whole quiver (40 arrows). He then vanishes into a second room and comes back with a hand-full of shafts. Two minutes later and your silver arrow heads are glued on to them. “Going to hunt some werewolfs, are you? Just wait a day to let the glue harden completly.” The whole thing takes maybe 15 minutes. ( Price 4 gold all together)
James, Hoid will direct you and Hifu to the local Provisions store. An old woman, Halia Thornberry runs the shop. You can buy anything you see under Adventuring Gear as long as it is less then 20gc. (Before you apply the double price for food/heat/light)
Kravek will stay at the house with Gilgin and Nyx, and while he is enjoying playing with the kids, he seams distracted.
Hifu thanks Hoid and heads with James to the Provisions store. He will purchase 2 rations and 5 torches, as well as a set of caltrops and a healer's kit. He purchases for 6 gold pieces, 10 copper pieces, and 20 silver pieces.
Hifu then drags James along as he wants to visit Giles one more time. "Giles, we killed the White Moose! Have a look at it in Danae's tavern sometime. I killed it with my bare hands! ... just kidding. It took all of us to bring it down. Poor Boga lost his life trying to pursue it with us. Speaking of which, I would like to ask you a favor. As a member of the "Heroes of Lonelywood"(Hifu really hams it up here) I was wondering if you had any Potions of Healing? It could have made the difference for Boga, and we sure could use one or two. What do you say?" he asks, expectantly, with a smile ....
