Nicholas brings Derendil the final few feet to the boat before Syvis takes over by slapping both Rian and Derendil. With a loud smack, both of the,m begin to twitch before coming to. Rian looks around in panic. “What is happening? What do I need to do?” He asks while Derendil stands behind, rapt in attention.
Voyage moves 60 feet towards the end of the docks and the safe house before loudly yelling. The safe house is concealed from your location so you don’t see a reaction, but all you can do is hope.
NPC Initiative: 20 (Will work them in next round)
Kuo Toa run amok, their gurgling yells piercing the air. Ploopploopeen yells “Come my brethren! We must fight this foul beast, for the Sea Mother!” Before casting spiritual weapon at 4th level. A large scepter, similar looking to the one Ploopploopeen holds in his hand appears in the air before the Demogorgon.
Attack: 25 Damage: 14
The scepter pierces the Demogorgon’s chest, but the demon prince merely gives a chuckle. He then makes two tentacle attacks, one at the altar, the other at Ploopploopeen.
Attack: 27 Damage: 33
Attack: 24 Damage: 30
The first tentacle rips through the altar, sending the feeble structure flying through the air, showering the area with rubble. The second hits Ploopploopeen (15) Causing him to seemingly wither at the touch before being flung like a rag doll against a nearby building. The scepter flickers before vanishing. At this point, all the Kuo Toa have broken free from their trance and are in a frenzy, running around like caged animals.
Since Rian and Derendil are already good to go, let’s say Thodek mans one of the oars, ready to make an athletics check to get the boat moving once everyone has gotten to the boat. (Let me know if that works @Ismenow)
Syvis jumps into the boat and looks to the others expectantly. "It seems expedient for you strong types to row as hard as you possibly can. I'm unsure if I'll be of much help other than trying to direct us to Voyage and the others. Let's go!"
Not sure if Syvis would be able to pilot the boat and gain the benefits Voyage would since she doesn't have experience/proficiency but hopefully she could at least help Nicholas row with one of the oars since both of our strengths probably equal that of one of the others. :)
If everyone goes along with this plan she'll kick the boat off from the dock to get us moving.
Nicholas blanches as he sees the destruction the demonic creature wrought. Quickly he jumps into the boat and attempts to help Thodek in getting the boat to where they need to pickup Voyage and the others.
I was thinking either Syvis helps Nicholas with one of the oars, or Nicholas helps Thodek and gives him the advantage :D

Voyage will use her movement and Dash to go 60 feet back to where she left the boat. "Hopefully they heard me. We can try again when we get closer, but they'll have to jump for it." Even without her yelling, her voice still booms unnaturally.
Voyage spends her entire turn dashing back to the boat. Seeing the entire crew is finally ready to go, she immediately assumes the role of captain as the boat begins to take off.
Thodek, Rian, and Derendil each take an oar while Nicholas takes the final seat and Syvis is prepared to help him.
I need an Athletics check from Thodek and Nicholas, his being made at advantage due to Syvis helping. This check counts as Thodek’s held action, so you may still make a second check when it comes to your turn in initiative.
Derendil Athletics: 12
Rian Athletics: 21
The boat moves 32 feet towards your destination (32/250).
Ploopploopeen lets out a groan as he slowly stands up, facing the demon prince as blood oozes from a wound on his forehead. He casts sacred flame with a grimace. Divine flames begin to encircle the demogorgon (11). But even still they disappear in a flash, not affecting the demon prince at all (legendary resistance).
Thodek is up! Make two athletics checks, one as your held action and the other to row for this round assuming that is the action you take.
Thodek is able to row the boat a total of 40 feet bringing the party’s total to 72/250 feet.
The demogorgon is up! The demon prince stares down Ploopploopeen. “Your determination is... amusing.” It growls. “I will enjoy seeing you die!” Two tentacle strikes then fly towards Ploopploopeen who gives out a cry of surprise. (Attack: 24 Damage: 32) (Attack: 21 Damage: 22) Con Saves: (16) (15) Ploopploopeen is struck twice again, blood pouring from multiple wounds across his body. The archpriest gives a weak moan. “Bloppblippodd... she won.” He whispers. At this point, Glooglugogg has made his way to his father and clutches the weak figure as he stares up at the Demogorgon fearfully. “Can you run, father. We need to leave. Now!” Ploopploopeen gives a small chuckle. “No, my son. Our place is here. Defending the Sea Mother till our final breath.” (Sorry got out of combat order a little bit there, but shouldn’t be that big of a deal.)
Thanks to the help of Syvis, Nicholas helps the party row further to the end of the docks while Voyage keeps the entire vessel on track, seeming to be in her element.
Rian Athletics: 6
Derendil Athletics: 7
Rian and Derendil also row, bringing the total distance the boat has moved to 107/250 feet.
Glooglugogg attempts to pick up the fragile form of his barely living father (Athletics: 19) He easily succeeds and begins to carry Ploopploopeen away from the battle. The Archpriest feebly resists, but it has no effect. Glooglugogg makes it 30 feet to the edge of Sloobludop proper before his turn ends.
Over the course of the next minute or two, the party is able to make their way to the end of the docks. The Demogorgon continues its rampage on the other side of Sloobludop, crashing through buildings as the cries of Kuo Toa can be heard. This side of Sloobludop is relatively silent, and as you make your way to the safe house, you see a group of people huddling at the edge of the docks. Jimjar stands by Cailean who holds Stool while Topsy and Turvy stay close to Jimjar. Shuushar is noticibly missing.
As you approach the group and comes to a stop. Jimjar moves forward. “Get on, kids,” he says as he ushers Topsy and Turvy into the boat. Cailean and Stool follow soon after. Jimjar then hops on breathing heavily. “Shuushar. He wouldn’t come. Something about fate. Following the flow of the lake. I’m not sure what you want to do?” He says.
Voyage sighs. She would have liked to have gone back for the old Kuo-Tua, so different from the other creatures of his kind. Or at least...said good-bye. Thodek was right though. He made her choice, and she had to make hers -- and she had NO desire to go anyone near the settlement. She looks away from the others for a few moments, dabbing her eyes. "Nayantara, whatever you're doing here, whatever reason you're playing with my life....I hope this is worth it."
She takes a deep breath to compose herself and looks to the others. "I...I am sorry. We should continue on. I BELIEVE we can reach Gracklestugh by traveling across the Darklake, but I have no idea how long it would take, and it would make us something of sitting ducks out here on the water in the middle of the night. Once we do get across the Lake, though, the Grove is a short distance from Gracklestugh. Or we could just find some favorable coastline and continue this on foot.
"I believe we were trying to avoid Gracklstugh as Thodek doesn't desire a reunion with his people. Would you be able to navigate more directly toward Neverlight Grove, Captain Voyage? Traveling across the Darklake would save us a considerable amount of time."
Rian steps up from his place at the oar. “This.. this beast. It’s the foul entity I sensed down here. The thing I have come to destroy. Why must we run? These people need saving!” He says, emotion filling his voice. “I... I’m not sure I can leave on good conscious knowing all these innocents in Sloobludop will die.”
Thodek will do his best to get Rian and Derendil moving towards the boat with Syvis's help.
Nicholas brings Derendil the final few feet to the boat before Syvis takes over by slapping both Rian and Derendil. With a loud smack, both of the,m begin to twitch before coming to.
