Qinfaren raises his shield quickly when he sees the verbeeg lunging towards him. But a combination of the dire wolf chewing at the giant's legs causing them to be unsteady in their attack and Qinfaren's shield getting up in time, causes both spear thrusts to brush past without causing harm.
Qinfaren then raises his staff, and squeezes hard around the mistletoe, and allows the energy of the earth to flow upwards threw him and into the staff, causing it to hum slightly.
As the dire wolf was ordered to keep attacking the verbeeg until called off, it again jumps at the back of the verbeeg as it attacks Qinfaren.
Dire Wolf Attack (w/ Advantage since allies engaged in melee combat): Attack: 25 Damage: 18 and if hit, Verbeeg needs to make a DC 13 Strength Save of be knocked prone.
Advancing on the Verbeeg, Bàn considers getting close enough to Inflict Wounds on the thing but pulls up short 10 feet away instead. May need me spell strength for more healing, he decides, and lashes out with his whip to make a Booming Blade (booming whip) attack.
Booming Whip: 22 to hit, 6 damage and sheets it in booming energy that does 6 thunder damage if it moves…

Seeing how deadly this verbeeg is with that spear and how quickly they dispatched the dire wolf, Qinfaren almost doesn't have time to contemplate the loss of the animal but in the back of his mind he does remember that it wasn't a real dire wolf and maybe it will reappear the next time he uses the gray bag of tricks. He almost reaches in the bag to pull out another fur ball but decides that will take too much time.
Instead he swings hard at the verbeeg again.
Action: Attack: 21 Damage: 5 magical damage from shillelagh.
He then blinks out of view and moves around the verbeeg, to get to the side, or behind it if possible.
Bonus Action: Uses Hidden Step to turn invisible until the start of his next turn.
Tiring of what they once thought would be an amusing little fight, and wary of Ricky potentially dropping again, Bàn decides to stop messing around and to pull out all the stops….
Bàn instructs Owl to distract the Verbeeg, basically to fly at its face but pull up at the last moment and flyby instead. (Owl use Help action to give advantage to Bàn on his attack and then Owl uses Flyby trait to not provoke opportunity attack fleeing the Verbeeg.)
Bàn himself rushes the creature muttering dark arcane words of an unfriendly nature. Once the ten feet is crossed Bàn strikes out at the creature and casts Inflict Wounds upon it.
Spell attack: 17 or 19 (since Adv) +5 for 24 to hit
With the final two attacks from Bjorn and Blue, the verbeeg finally collapses to the ground.
Seeing that the danger has now passed, Bjorn retrieves his longbow from the ground.
"I think this verbeeg and the one in the cave were somewhat romantically involved," Bjorn explains his thinking. "This is probably why she acted without thinking and fought so passionately. I wonder what she was bringing in that basket, though."
