This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Qinfaren keeps a good distance from the trunk and heads to the doorway and looks out into the hallway.
When he sees Bàn on the ground and Nildar standing over him with a knife, he first speaks quietly towards his fallen friend (Healing Word to cure 6 for Bàn).
Then he takes a couple of quick steps and with Nildar's back still to him, slams his magic empowered staff down on the head of the duergar.
Staff/Shillelagh: Attack: 22 Damage: 12
(second attack roll if advantage applies since Nildar has his back turned: 18 )
(I think Bàn is 3 or 4 rounds away from the room so I'll wait til DM advises how many death saves I need make assuming you find us without making a wrong turn...)
(I'll allow it as there are no wrong turns, the spell has a range of 60 feet. Plus the distance that Bjorn dragged Qinfaren, his own movement and the fact that Bàn had to move back 10 feet too.)

(Bàn would have missed a turn by dying, yeah. Felled - Death Save - then Qin's turn heals him - then foes... So I think he is back up now.)
Rising to his feet Bàn would see his pursuer leaving and, amazingly, Qinfaren beyond! Realizing what must have happened Bàn wants to return the favor as much as he can so he whips out an Eldritch Blast at Nildar...
Eldritch Blast attack: Nat 1...
Apparently he is still too woozy from being dead to aim straight.
With space opening up between Bàn and Nildar, Qinfaren quickly rubs his hands together on either side of the mistletoe wrapped staff as if he's trying to get warm, but instead of warmth, a jagged piece of ice appears.
Qinfaren, quickly flips it up then flings it at Nildar, where it ultimately explodes into a small sphere of ice shards.
He then hustles back and closes the door to the room with the bitey trunk in it before that creature comes up behind them.
Action: Casts Ice Knife @ 2nd Level: Attack: 24 Damage: 8 and whether hits or not, Nildar needs to make a DC15 Dex Save or take 5 cold damage.
When Qinfaren throws the ice knife at Nildar, it strikes the duergar in the chest. It seems that he was unprepared for such a manoeuvre when his eyes widened in shock. He then collapses to the ground with a soft thud.

"This room sounds quiet," Qinfaren says, gesturing to the door to the south. "Let's stick him in here then get out of here and find somewhere to rest and rethink this. Maybe Grandolpha knows somewhere here we can hide out, or she knows another entrance we could use when we come back so we don't have to walk through the front door."
Qinfaren opens the door to the south and takes a look inside.
Looking inside the southern room, Qinfaren finds a large rom. Braziers of glowing-hot coals stand in the corners of this room, working to offset the cold air that flows through a row of arrow slits on the south wall.
Dragging the body inside, hopefully not leaving a big blood smear or anything, Bàn would then take a moment to search the dead dude while Qin examines the shaft...
(Bjorn, Bàn, Qinfaren, Trunk.)
Bàn finds himself compelled to walk ten feet in the direction of Nildar.
Qinfaren wakes up to cast a spell at the inert trunk. The trunk manages to withstand the worst of the effects from the spell.
The trunk shuffles forward it's tongue moveing wildly in the air.
Meanwhile, Nildar catches up with Bàn and attempts to stab him twice.
(Attack: 1 to hit. 1 piercing damage plus 15 psychic damage.)
(Attack: 19 to hit. 1 piercing damage plus 11 psychic damage.)
Bjorn shrugs his shoulders as he let's go of Qinfaren, "I don't know. I don't he could have gotten far though."
He then takes the opportunity to cast the same spell on himself.
(Cure wounds: 6)

((Cool cool, Bàn opens his eyes up on the floor then...foes turn, I believe.))
(Bjorn, Bàn, Qinfaren, Trunk.)
The trunk slowly moves closer across the room.
Nildar continues shouting for guards, but no other guards have made an appearance.
Assuming that Bàn is down, he turns around to see Bjorn and Qinfaren at the other end of the hall.
He begins making his way towards them.
Before Nildar can get too close, Bjorn fires another arrow at the duergar.
(Attack: 18 Damage: 9 piercing damage.)

"Quick, he'd been shouting for guards... We should probably hide," Bàn calls out to the others. "Also... Glad you're not dead! How that happen??"
Bàn pauses a moment and looks to them carefully... "Err, you're not undead... are you?"
Qinfaren smiles at Bàn "I don't think we're undead."
He looks to drag Nildar's body back into the other room but then remembers the chest with the teeth and decides against that.
Qinfaren looks around for any other doorways they hadn't checked out yet.
"We can try and hide his body somewhere," Qinfaren suggests.
"Feed it to the chest?" Bàn suggests. "What better hiding spot?"
Qinfaren raises an eyebrow to Bàn.
"That chest definitely seemed to be on his side," Qinfaren says. "I'd just as soon keep that door closed between us and it."
He looks for those other doors (listening to them if there were more doors - Perception: 18 )
"We could use somewhere to hole up and recover" Qinfaren says. "We might be a bit outnumbered here."
Qinfaren steps closer to the easternmost door and hears a sound from the other side.
Then he hears nothing when listening to sounds from the door south of that one.
"I don't know," Bjorn says. "Maybe we should call our losses and get out of here? I don't know how much more we can take."

Qinfaren nods.

“Hmm. Empty. We can stick him in here.”
Qinfaren then goes into the room and looks into the shaft, up and down, trying to figure out what it is.
Dragging the body inside, hopefully not leaving a big blood smear or anything, Bàn would then take a moment to search the dead dude while Qin examines the shaft...
Qinfaren examines the shaft and realises that this must be one of the elevators that mentioned by the duergar.
Examining the body of the duergar, Bàn finds very little on his person. They only thing he is carrying his knife.
