Qinfaren was fascinated by the polar bears. They were some of the largest he had ever encountered. But it wasn’t just their size that caught his eye. The way their fur made them look like the cloudy icy white sky was incredible.
He’s still thinking about them when he hears the captain’s words and then his comrades’ questions.
He moves over to Bjorn and Arogna to hear the answer.

"An incident," Shad says. "An incident." He'll go toward the member of the crew he has seen the most of who he has also seen close to the captain.
"I'm new to this whole water thing," he says. "You know, the ocean. But I'm curious. When a sailor says there's been 'an incident,' does that mean the ship is sinking? What does that mean, really?" Shad smiles. He wants to know what is going on and is willing to look silly to find out. "Is it because of the gigantic bears? Or the sharks? We have to stay on the boat because the gigantic sharks?" Persuasion: 7
Qinfaren listens to the captain and crew talk of the incident and then moves over to the others.
In what he still thinks of as his whisper, but is really closer to a normal talking voice, Qinfaren starts talking.
"The captain seems quite worked up. There are some breathing exercises I could show him to help him calm down but I don't think he's listen," Qinfaren pauses then continues a little more sheepishly. "Since we've had this extra time on ship, I've been practicing something that I've had trouble with in the past, but I think I've got it down now. If we really want to know what's going on, I may have a way of getting into the captain's cabin unseen. Or at least unnoticed."

"Good point," Shad says. He laughs at himself for a moment. "But what is going on? Should we be worried? Nobody's disappeared or been hurt, have they?" He'll try to be persuasive again: 11.
"That invisible trick of yours?" Arogna asks Qinfaren. She looks up at him, "Well, the captain's a big guy, so hopefully you'd fit into his cabin at any rate. Be better if he wasn't in it, though."
"No, even better," he says. "I could change myself into a spider, or a small mouse, or maybe a nice little bee, and take a look around his cabin. But I don't want to show you here. Too many people around."
Before the captain leaves, Muharg says “Aye captain, let us know if you need any help from us.”
Then turns to his companions “Strange indeed” says with a brow rise. “The more insight we have on the situation, the better. Qinfaren be careful if you finally infiltrate. Should we try to make a diversion for you?”
Arogna raises her eyebrows at the thought of all of Qinfaren being packed into the space of a small creature. "Well, that's a fine trick. He wouldn't notice another rat on this ship."
"If I change shape near his cabin, yes a distraction might be a good idea," he says. "I will try to time any change for when no one is watching, but if they're watching something else, that will help."
"I haven't really tested the limits, but I don't think more than an hour before I'd need to take a break from it," he says. "But I might be able to do it again after that if needed."
Qinfaren looks around the deck to see if the captain is still out and about or if he'd returned to his cabin already.
"Good point," Shad says. He laughs at himself for a moment. "But what is going on? Should we be worried? Nobody's disappeared or been hurt, have they?" He'll try to be persuasive again: 24.
The crew member replies, "I don't much more than you. I would tell you if I knew more. However, something big must have happened to get the cap'in worked up like this." The crew member shrugs apologetically, before moving away.
Looking around you see that Captain Silvermane has disappeared back into his cabin again. Though you can see Lennart already talking to some of other members of the Luskar Deliverers.

Muharg rises a finger about to reply to Bjorn’s suggestion, but holds on a second. He then tilts his head and rises his brow “Well, that’s actually a good point I guess” nods in agreement.

"Maybe they're just gonna arrest that dwarf," speculates Arogna. "I'd wait around to see that."
The crew member raises and eye brow at Shad, "If the ship was sinkin', would cap'n order us to stay on board?"

"Perhaps before we try this, we should ask Lennart if he has any idea what's going on?" Bjorn offers and alternative as he looks at his companions.

"I'll go ask," offers Arogna, and walks over to Lennart. "Scuse me, what's goin' on, Mr Bassk? What kind of an incident we talking about?"
Qinfaren will wait to hear what Lennart says to Arogna before deciding how to get inside the Captain's cabin unnoticed.
