“We’re innocent! Innocent, I say’” Bàn insists as he readies his whip. “We just this minute walked in here, convinced by two wolves to save some hostages… We ain’t killed nothing yet!”
Bàn will hold his action (Booming Blade if he’s in melee already, Eldritch blast if he’s further away) until the Mammoth attacks… he still hopes it’s a big misunderstanding and we can all be friends.
“Well, yes. Sure,” Bàn says. “Well we weee camped, just passing through this area, and a giant wolf approached. Instead of attacking us, it talked to us. Much to our surprise. It claimed it had a master which beat it and asked for our help. It also said this master had people from the town held hostage…”
Bàn looks around to the others to see if the wish to add anything before he continues on. “We came here to investigate the story. The wolf, and another, brought us right to the door. I admit, I found the circumstances suspect… but also hard to just ignore. And now, here we are,” Bàn finishes, trying to let the truth of his words show by being earnest and skipping any flair or fancy.
A low, menacing rumble emanates from the mammoth's throat. Its massive body towers over the group and its fur bristles with electricity. Its eyes glow with anger and hatred.
"It doesn't matter", the mammoth replies. "You have desecrated my master's tomb," it bellows, its voice echoing through the chamber. "For this offence, you will pay with your lives."

Qinfaren forces a smile at the mammoth.
"You must have been close with your master," Qinfaren says. He nods towards the entrance they came from. "It sounded like the wolves did not like him."
If there's time, Qinfaren will cast guidance on himself as he speaks.
"We didn't kill your master. And we didn't mean to come in here and disturb you," Qinfaren pauses before adding. "I think the wolves might have done this."

Qinfaren looks at the size of the mammoth and wonders if perhaps running away wouldn’t be the wisest call. But as he ponders that, the encounter turns violent.
Qinfaren blinks out of sight, vanishing from view.
While invisible, he moves around quickly to the side of the large mammoth, angling himself so that what is to come won’t harm the others.
A loud, roar of thunder erupts a moment before Qinfaren appears again in a different location.
Bonus Action: Hidden Step to move invisibly into position.
Action: Casts Thunderwave at second level. Causing 9 thunder damage (DC 15 Con save to take half).
Hurting and just wanting this fight over with, Bàn casts Suggestion and tells the mammoth “Bananas are delicious! You should grab the wolves outside and bring them to a banana tree so you can all have one…”
Bjorn fires an arrow at the mammoth which pierces her in the upper leg.
This is followed up by Ricky punching the mammoth twice with his fists.
Qinfaren then blasts the mammoth by casting the spell, thunderwave. However, the mammoth seems to shrug most of its effects off.
The mammoth stops in its tracks and makes its way to the entrace of the ice lodge.
"I think that might be for the better," Bjorn remarks. "It's better than we dealt with that situation without it ending in too much bloodshed. Although, maybe you could have just calmed the beast? I don't know where they will end up going in trying to find a banana tree.
This was their home, and I think the mammoth was distraught."

"I mean... I could release it?" Bàn suggests sarcastically. "I don't really have a spell for just calming things. I have heard of certain herbs and tabaccos that can achieve such but I don't happen to have any on me. Getting it to leave seemed the quickest way to solve the problem of it skewering me to death... We know have eight hours to try to find the supposed hostages, if I can keep concentrating that long. Seems like a win to me."
Bàn then spends a moment to cast Healing Word on himself (twice if we're out of combat?) to recover from the mammoth attack and silently chastises himself to remember to Shield himself next time.
(5hp recovered from first casting... will wait and see if there is time for a second.)
((Wait? Mammoth is alive? Oops, that never even occurred to me! LoL, ooops… oh well.))

Persuasion: Unable to parse dice roll.
...
Got that unable to parse thing so editing to see if that kicks it into gear...
Edited again, since it didn't... Rolled a 17 in the Game Log.
The mammoth stops in its tracks, "Explain yourselves. Quickly."

Qinfaren's words seem to fall on deaf ears. The mammoth moves towards the group, but it seems slow and sluggish. It attempts to gore Bàn with a tusk.
(Attack: 25 Damage: 22 piercing damage.)

(Does Bàn get the attack he was holding or we saying too much talky talky?)
Bàn is gored. And it hurts.
Ricky hasn't been able to understand much, but he understands that didn't go well! He punches this thing right in the tusks
Punch! And if it moved into Ricky's range to gore Bán, then he can use Brave to hit as a reaction
Punch 1 Attack: 22 Damage: 7

"Damn it," Bjorn mutters under his breath. "I should have summoned Blue."
He then fires an arrow at the mammoth from his longbow.
