Galius raises his right eyebrow at you Ereina. "Kath you say? I got in a fight there with a village boy, though I should say, man" He tilts his head to the side, his helmet sliding off just a little, enough to reveal a gash running down his neck. "He was a pretty tough lad, I made sure to recruit him after our little bout." He then addresses you two, Kuga and Arson "That's what I like to hear, some conviction!"
As of this moment, the ships are pretty close to the shore now. They seem to be slowing down as to not fully smash against the shoreline.
Cautiously Dek approaches the group and sizes them up. These landlubbers were going to be the ones he was going to be working with from now on and he hadn't been with another crew since The Windy Lass. Clearing his throat he introduces himself in somewhat broken common, "Ahoy mateys. Me Decker. I glad to work with you."
Dek is a halfing standing just slightly above 3 feet. He has messy brown hair framing his weather beaten face. There is a look of exoticness about him and you can catch what seems to be tribal tatoos on his arms when his sleeves ride up. He is dressed in what appears to be slightly oversized old sailor's clothes.

Ereina stood socked and then a big grin spread across her face. This was the first person in over a decade that had actually known more of her home town than simply a name on a map somewhere. She doubted that she knew the lad the sergeant was talking about, it had been too long since she had been home. Still, maybe she wouldn't be underestimated here.
From below the sound of waves mixed with orders being called out from the incoming boats and the hurried sounds as the last people vacated the docks. Ereina unslung her crossbow and moved closer to the edge of the wall so she could get a better view of what was happening.
"Sergeant Galius? Any directions about how you want us to handle this?"
The first this that catches most people's eye about Ereina is her skin. She is paler than most other halflings and appears to have a slight blue tinge to her colour like she is always cold. This colour is particularly evident around her nails, eyes and anywhere her skin creases regularly. This complements her dark blue eyes which appear to have no pupil.
Ereina is just over 3 foot tall and of average build. She wears her hair in a shoulder-length ponytail which she uses to keep it out of the way more than for fashion sake. Ereina has a very serious expression most of the time, though when she smiles it is genuine. Creases are starting to form around her eyes and mouth and her hands show callouses and a few small scars.
Ereina dresses in casual, well-worn travelling clothes, with a knee-length duster. The coat has deep pockets where she keeps her basic tools to take notes and observational drawings. On her belt sit 3 daggers and a light crossbow is strapped to her backpack.
*kuga looks at the other halfling and has a smirk on his face* " They say I'm a savage."
Ereina looks back from the edge of the wall and calls out, "Maybe it is your personality they are talking about."She glares at the half-orc. It was amazing how quickly your opinions of people change when they open their mouths. "Greetings Decker. Can you tell us anything about these boats below?"
The first of the ships reach the shoreline and all of you hear the sound of heavy wood scraping against the sand. You all hear yelling as the riders start to jump out of their respective ships. They seem to be pulling out objects.
Galius nods at you Decker, acknowledging your presence.
As you address him Ereina, Galius responds, "Right. This must be their vanguard. Any of you who can attack from ranged should do so while utilizing the castellations for cover from arrows or whatever else they might have. I'm sure these savages didn't come here without siege equipment, they probably will have ladders. Those of you who are of martial skill must be prepared to engage their climbers should they manage to get up here. Our objective is to hold this part of the wall, we can only hope that the other squads do their part as well." The Sergeant forms some sort of hand sign, closes his eyes, and mutters some words.
All of you start to hear cranking noises as the mounted crossbow to your left (20 ft. away) is spun up by its crew. As you continue to watch the invaders you see them start to pull large objects out of their ships that look to be ladders just as the sergeant mentioned. There are also other groups starting to pull in their ships out of the water and onto land. There are also some squads splitting off and running to the west side of the city while remaining out of range of the mounted crossbows.
The shoreline is about 800 feet away from the walls that you guys are standing on. The docks aren't fully connected to the city and have been completely forsaken as it was deemed indefensible by the Commander of the city due to it lacking walls.
"I am a second class citizen. What the hell does that even mean?" Arson yells as she starts running along the wall to meet the first of the invaders who come over it. (Btw, she intends to burn the ladders, are they dry?)

"STAY HERE!!"Ereina yells after the Gensai. "This is our post. You will have more than enough to fill whatever desire you might have."Ereina watches the raiders, still 800 feet away, as they disembark. Studying the town before her she looks at the roads, trying to pick out the most likely way for the raiders to approach (Investigation: 5). She then sets up with her crossbow aimed in that direction.
As you all continue to look on, with Arson standing at the ready. You all see the barbarians start to form groups of 16 with 8 of the snake-men on each side. All of the groups are carrying one ladder each. They start to line up, shields at their side and one arm aiding in hoisting up the massive ladders. As if on queue they all start to head towards the walls.
At this point the groups are about 500 feet away from the wall.
More ships begin to make landfall as well. These ones are much bigger from what you can see.
"Is this your first battle?"Ereina asks Arson? "All the histories I have read, make a great deal of the value of strong defences. I suggest we make the most of them."
Ereina the inner part of the city is where the town is. Where the barbarians are landing is a sandy shoreline leading to mostly grass with one road that leads from the city to the docks (now overrun). The groups seem to be spread out and not exactly following the road.
