Thalion you don’t see any lying around. Thankfully, the sergeant seems to be onto something by telling you to check with the Mounted crossbow team stationed on your group’s right as you face outwards to the shoreline. They’re situated on a part of the wall that juts out more forwardly. About 20 feet away from where your group is.
"Thanks, Sir. Thalion, let's head up there and take up position. I would rather have a supply of arrows. The extra height should help a little too." Ereina quickly grabbed her gear and headed up into the nest, taking up position in the corner closest to the rest of the group below. Again she sighted the oncoming ladder, ready to fire as soon as they come within range.
Gideon moves closer to the supply of crossbow bolts then sights down his crossbow, waiting for the Yuan-ti to reach 200' from the base of the wall...of course the extra height gave him better range.
ooc: at 200' he will begin firing. Given the height advantage will he still have disadvantage? Also, can he aim at the group and not an individual to better his chances of hitting?
"Let's go!" Thalion heads up to the mounted crossbow's position with Ereina. Upon reaching the position Thalion asks the men "You guys have an extra bow lying around here?"
One of the archers, a female elf, hears you and pipes back "You're in luck. We got one more here." She reaches down and picks it up then waits for you to reach for it. "Make sure you return it." She looks back down on the incoming tides of barbarians and says "On second thought, don't even worry about it. Grab some arrows too they're right over there" She lifts her other gloved hand and points at a rack near the entrance to their crossbow nest. "I know this spot looks pretty good but we're going to need you guys to head back out to your positions. We really need the extra space in here to spin this beast up." referring to the large mounted crossbow.

"Makes sense. I'd rather not have a bolt in the back."Ereina heads back down to the wall, hoping that she gets there before the raiders are within range.
Dek too loads his crossbow and readies it to fire once the enemy comes into range. He then asks the sergeant, "We have fire? Fire arrows burn ship. Maybe sink it early," the halfling starts glancing around as he looks for something that could aid them in their defense.
Dek will try to look for something that he can light his crossbow bolts on fire with if he can. Will start firing at about 300ft (long range).
When they get to 80ft he will fire one last bolt before getting ready to push off the ladders.

Thalion almost snatches the bow from the Elven woman and grabs a fully loaded quiver. As he runs back he yells a quick "Thank you!" to the Elven archer and positions himself next to Ereina and nocks an arrow. As his fingers rub the bowstrings of the weapon he seems to enter into a different zone. He closes his eyes and begins to control his breathing; in through the nose, out through the mouth, mentally preparing himself to fire once the invaders are within range.
Galius hears your suggestion Dek and replies, “That’d be nice but I doubt we have anyone here with an arm strong enough to reach that far. Hell, not even that thing.” He points at the mounted crossbow “-can shoot that far. If the city invested more in reinforcing the docks then we could have had walls there instead. No use crying about it though.” ((The shoreline where you see small figures setting up camps as pulling in smaller boats is around 800-900 feet away, the ladder squads are about 300 feet away))
At this range, Thalion reckons he can hit a target with his newly acquired longbow, if anything it's a good warmup for him. He inhales deeply, pulls the string back, exhales slowly through his mouth and lets the nocked arrow loose at the ladder group that was quickly approaching.

Thalion you acquired a regular longbow.
At this point, the ladder group heading towards you all is about 250 feet away now.
All of you hear a “chuf” sound as a bolt flies once again from the mounted crossbow.

The bolt flies true and impales another one of the yuan-ti However, just as before the group does not falter. They keep heading straight towards you.
At this range, Thalion reckons he can hit a target with his newly acquired longbow, if anything it's a good warmup for him. He inhales deeply, pulls the string back, exhales slowly through his mouth and lets the nocked arrow loose at the ladder group that was quickly approaching.
Roll to hit with disadvantage Thalion. You too Gideon if you're feeling lucky.
