You can easily tell that he is misleading you. Chances are that he has no idea about the chest, but spots an opportunity to make some money.
Ioben - You easily prepare the camp, a number of Vistani offer to assist / provide any additional materials you need.
Galqarin - The chest is currently lying on the floor near the wagon (assuming you dragged it out from underneath the wagon), should you try and pick it up you do so with little difficulty (it is not remotely heavy).
Galqarin, will dart forward and grab the chest, hugging it to his body. "Madam Eva said must find treas... box", he announces defiantly. Standing beside Dormark, he is even taller even than the metal man and a fearsome expression adorns his face.
> even taller even than the metal man (I think - how tall is Dormark?)
Putting his hand up to calm Galqarin Dormark looking at the man says, “I don’t normally enjoy people telling me fibs, obviously you have no idea where the box came from and what may be inside, but the truth is it was by your cart. I’ll give you 10 silver to wave your current claim on the box, and for interrupting your evening.”
Dormark - You see the mans eye's light up in greed,"Well there's no need to get like that! But, if you would like me to relinquish my claim over the chest, 10 silver will do just fine." He grins at you,"Pleasure doing business."
Dormark - The man smirks at you as you provide the silver,"The names Grigori... Grigori Vasille."He briefly looks down at the chest,"Well... I hope you find what your looking for in that old chest."
“I hope so too, Gregori. And I hope you whoever owned the chest doesn’t come after you,” says Dormark grabbing the chest he heads back towards the camp.
"What did you find?" Ioben calls out as Dormark makes his way into the camp. "Was Madame Eva right? Here, grab a spot." He indicates to the area he had cleared near the fireplace where some of the bedrolls were already out. He was very interested in what they might have found, but felt it only right to them examine the item first.

Ioben takes the offered trunk and examines it closely. He looks at the hinges, taps gently, then more firmly on the wood of the box, pushes slightly against the metal surrounding the lock. Perception: 22 Investigation: 7
After thoroughly inspecting the trunk, Ioben reaches into his pouch and pulls out a selection of pins, tweezers and oddly shaped hooks, selecting two of the items he again looks at the lock. Just as he is about to insert them into the lock he stops. "Has any checked to see if this is magic? I would hate to burn the camp down, or turn into a chicken, by trying to unlock a box."
“No but I can do it fairly quickly,” says Dormark he takes 10 minutes to cast detect magic as a ritual. After he does so he looks at the box to see if it is magical and what type of magic it may be,
“I hope so too, Gregori. And I hope you whoever owned the chest doesn’t come after you,” says Dormark grabbing the chest he heads back towards the camp.
Grigori looks shocked at first, for once lost for words, "I... uh... I...." as Dormark leaves him dumbfounded he yells,"I'll tell them a metal man took it!"He shakes his head and moves away.
Sandu observed what the trio was doing. It appeared they had found a box, quite literally pulling it from under a wagon, and had to haggle for it with the wagon's owner. Something to the tune of ten silver was handed over for Dormark to be the new owner of said box. They took the box back to camp and Sandu followed, his shovel plan momentarily forgotten. Madam Eva did mention they had to find something in the Vistani camp and if this box turned out to be just that, that would be one thing checked off.
Back at camp Sandu edged closer to the others to see what the deal was with the box, his curiosity barely beating out his misgivings about Galqarin. The box intrigued him, moreso when he saw the symbol - Crest? - on the side of it. The lock itself was also unusual. Most locks, if not all locks, he knew people used were of the ordinary padlock and key, whereas this one needed three numbers to open. Three numbers? Sandu thought to himself. Haven't I seen three numbers before?
A slight upwelling of excitement propelled him forward. 'Before you pick the lock,' Sandu addressed Ioben, 'Could you first try 320, 347 and 350 to see if one of those works?'
Upon checking the chest it appears to be exceptionally old but in better condition than you would expect for something its age. As your hand passes over the lock it gives you an ever so slight tingling feeling, naturally leading you to believe there is magic at work.
The lock itself appears to be a combination lock of sorts. Based on the slight fade on the first dial it looks as though the first digit is likely a '3'.
Dormark - The lock emanates a magical aura... it would appear to be evocation magic. You deduce that the lock is likely trapped in some way.
“Careful there is some evocation magic on the box. We should probably move it away from the camp and maybe put it close to the pool,” says Dormark after looking at the box.

"Is there anything else you need to tell us?"Ioben says as he again examines the numbers. I didn't mention the number 3 was worn, yet every suggestion he gave me started with that. Strange.Just as he was about to try the first of the combinations Dormark spoke up about the magic and taking precautions. "Good idea. At least that way if anything happens it is only to me."
Ioben rose, taking the trunk with him, and made his way a little further east along the shoreline until he was about 100 ft outside the camp. Then, despite the bugbear's recommendation, he tried the lock using the three numbers Sandu supplied, in that same order.

Ioben - Sure enough, you go 100 ft outside of the Vistani camp and attempt to put in the three numbers Sandu gave you.
'3-2-0' as you move the dials into place the lock glows a yellowish colour. You hear a whirring sound followed by the sound of lightning. Jolts of electricity come shooting out of the lock and into your hands.

However, this barely registers as a tickle as Sandu is set on uncovering the chests secrets ((take 1 whole point of Lightning damage)).
'3-4-7' much like before the lock glows but this time it is a deep crimson colour. You hear a whirring sound followed by a series of three click; 'CLICK-CLICK-CLICK'. The lock springs open after the third 'CLICK' and falls harmlessly away from the chest.
