Bram tilts his head and looks at you. "You should talk to Toblen."
He leaves toward the kitchen. When he comes back, he brings a short human with longish black hair. He's wiping his hands on his apron, a smile on his face.
"Well now. Bram says you're wanting some information. I might have a tale or two, told to me by my customers. Not sure if they're what you want but I'd be happy to try. Let's see, last one I heard was...
Ah, know you about Falcon and his hunting lodge? If you find yourself deep inside Neverwinter Wood, it is the only safe place. Falcon plays host to many a noble and people of money, taking them hunting and keeping them safe. But he's a heart of gold. Veteran of many wars, so holds people to how they are and not what they have. In fact, you bring him a nice bottle of wine, he'll put you up, feed you too."
"Excellant. I have a bottle of one of his favorites Be just 5 gold pieces. When you're ready to leave, just pay Bram and he'll get it for you. Tell you the directions, as well. I'll keep an ear out for anymore interesting news. Enjoy the ale." He returns to the kitchen.
"The hunting lodge is northeast of here, a full day's travel on foot. If you go back up to the Triboar Trail, then head east for about 6 hours. Walk into the woods and keep north til you find a river. Follow it, the Lodge will be on its eastern bank. Be back with the bottle."
He quickly returns with a bottle and takes the 5 gold with a nod. "The Forest is not the safest place, I wouldn't go in it at night."
"If he's not there, he's probably out on a hunting trip. But he'll be there soon. He has two servants that will let you wait. You give them our regards as well. In a very long while they have been known to visit here. So, rooms or are you two leaving now?"
"Yup. I'll go get them ready for you. You can pay in the morning, and for the wine then too I'll be back with the keys." Bram leaves.
"I'm starting to like this town. Might have to remember it for next time. Have to see how the winters are, though." Ruby takes a drink and sits back, regarding everything.
"Still two more jobs to do." Ruby takes out the notices from her pack. "Rock gnomes and dwarf prospectors. Just tell them about the dragon. I wonder how many around here will need to be told."
There's enough room for the two of you to have your own rooms on the second floor. They are modest, but clean. The walls are thick enough to keep the noise from the main room downstairs quiet.
The next morning you head downstairs. Bram sees you walking in and points to a table. He brings over two plates and two mugs. The mugs have the same ale as the night before. The plates have eggs, sausages, and thick slices of bread with a jam on them. "Managed to get them free. And here's the wine." He sets the bottle in the center and nods to you before leaving.
The food is good and fills you up. Ruby sets the money down for the wine and you head out.
The weather is mild as you make your way to the Triboar Trail. There was a rough map attached to the wine so your steps are sure.
You stop midday for a quick rest and bite. It is late afternoon when you reach the spot in the trail where you leave it and enter the forest. You hope you will make it before it gets too dark.
The forest is old, but not difficult to get thru. You hear strange sounds beyond your seeing and you stop now and then in anticipation of something charging at you. But nothing occurs, though you still feel like there are eyes on you. And even though there is still light, you find that your pace is picking up.
You come to a river and on the other side:
A thin fog surrounds a fortified compound standing in a clearing on the east side of a narrow river. A ten-foot-high log palisade surrounds the compound, whose main building is a two-story stone-and-wood affair with a high-pitched roof, gables, window shutters, and a stone chimney. Attached to the main building is a blocky tower of gray stone, its high roof lined with battlements. Other structures include a two-story stable house and a gatehouse whose flat roof is enclosed by iron railings. A stone bridge spans the river, ending before an oaken door set into the gatehouse’s outer wall. Mounted next to the door is a bell with a short rope hanging from its clapper.
You can make out lights in a few of the upper windows. After a bit you hear the sound of horses coming from behind one side of the palisade. The rest of the forest is quiet.

I find Bram asked for the wine and directions

How much for a room?
"Just 5 silver a room. And if you promise to give Falcon our regards I'll see you get breakfast for free."
"falcon?"
"If he's not there, he's probably out on a hunting trip. But he'll be there soon. He has two servants that will let you wait. You give them our regards as well. In a very long while they have been known to visit here. So, rooms or are you two leaving now?"
"well bed and breakfast sounds nice. 5 silver you say"
"Yup. I'll go get them ready for you. You can pay in the morning, and for the wine then too I'll be back with the keys." Bram leaves.

"Its a nice town alright. I don't do well in the cold"
"What do you think about this dragon business? I mostly want to believe it. But I'm not sure how far I'm willing to go to find out for sure."
"white dragons are not my specialty. It could be true, hopefully we will be ready by then if not I suggest we move on. Until then the pay is good."
"Still two more jobs to do." Ruby takes out the notices from her pack. "Rock gnomes and dwarf prospectors. Just tell them about the dragon. I wonder how many around here will need to be told."
"well I'm going to head in early so we can get started"
