Misha takes a moment to take off her coat, latch into her armor and ready her sword and shield. If Marla unlocks the door in some shape or form, Misha will open it quickly, and go through, shield up.
As Marla opens the door and Misha steps inside, the room appears empty. The only sound is the creaking of the door as it finishes swinging on its hinges and the sounds of you both breathing. At a glance everything appears to be where you left it.
*Back at Trollskull manor*
As the door opens both men seem surprised to see a kobold standing before them. "Oh! Uh, Hello there. Are you the new owner of Trollskull Manor?" The halfling asks before Alexa moves to the door and introduces herself. Once she arrives the Tall man seemingly relaxes a bit before they both introduce themselves. "I hope you don't mind us popping over unannounced. My name is Broxley Fairkettle and I'm with the Fellowship of Innkeepers." The halfling says as he extends his hand for a handshake both to the kobold and then towards the much taller Alexa. "And you may address me as Hammond Kraddoc. I represent the Vintners’, Distillers’, and Brewers’ Guild. This here is Jinny. Pay her no mind, she is a scribe and tasked with recording all of the guilds interractions." He says while briefly motioning towards the young female teifling dressed in common clothes. She frantically scribbles down every word spoken without even bothering to look up towards either one of you. "Volothamp Geddarm is a well known friend of the guilds and told us how you all are the new owners of Trollskull Manor.... and I must say congratulations on your new aquisition." he says with an eager smile. "I am glad there will be some new blood in the place. I've heard rumors the place was haunted so it'll be nice to be able to put those rumors to rest" The halfling adds as he wipes a bit of fake sweat from his forehead. "Enough with the pleasantries Broxley" Hammond says with a sigh. The reason we are here is because we are hoping that you will make the wise decision to join our guilds and reap the benefits that come with that commitment. From the looks of things you appear to have already begun your repairs and I would hope you are planning on consulting the proper guilds before continuing. Repairs to the walls and the roof require the approval and oversight of the Carpenters’, Roofers’, and Plaisterers’ Guild. The Cellarers’ and Plumbers’ Guild is best equipped to handle the refurbishing of the basement and plumbing. Clean bedsheets are provided by the Launderers’ Guild. The streets around the establishment are kept up by the Dungsweepers’ Guild and the Loyal Order of Street Laborers. Meat must come from the Guild of Butchers; ale and wine from the Vintners’, Distillers’, and Brewers’ Guild; and bread and pastries from the Bakers’ Guild. The list goes on." Hammond lectures quickly as Jinny struggles to keep up with her writing. Before Hammond can continue, Broxley gives him a quick nudge to the thigh with his elbow and clears his throat. "Ahem! Yes.. there are many guilds within Waterdeep, and we do provide a number of essential services. We take care of things so you don't have to. Guilds are what make Waterdeep great after all. Now our mutual friend Volo has already briefed representatives on the state of your new property... and we were hoping that maybe we could convince you all to join the Fellowship of Innkeepers. ... and to agree to the terms we have here so that the other guilds such as Hammond's here.. can begin the process of getting this place up and running again." The halfing would say with a smile as he pulls out a large stack of documents.
Misha makes a face that she's disappointed, but then it quickly changes to a soft smile, like always. "Misha weel be honest, was expecting sometheeng, ya? Oh, vell."She stood guard while Marla did her thang.
Jen drags a chair over to the door and begins reading over the papers to see what the terms of the deal are. "I suggest you all make yourselves comfortable, I'm not signing to join any guild until I've scanned the contract for fine print."

Alexa smiles. "Why don't you come in so Jorah and Jen can look over those papers? I'm sure we want to get things started immediately." She invites the trio inside.
Jorah will rummage through his bag momentarily before pulling out some reading glasses he stole once. They were cracked and clearly not usable, but he liked looking smart when he read stuff. He then took the papers and started making his way to the counter as he read the documents.
Jorah had spent much of his days with his tribe, stealing books, scrolls, letters, and the like, teaching himself to read, as well as learn about the world. A Dragon needed to be smart as well as strong.
OOC: If Marla or Misha want to search the room for *something*, let me know what you are hoping to find and give me an investigation roll.
Back at the manor! When the trio are invited inside they quickly smile and make their ways towards one of the recently cleaned tables. "I knew it!" the halfling exclaims as he spots the broom sweeping the floor on its own. "I knew it was haunted." He repeats aloud to himself as he passes the papers to the kobold. Hammond huffs in amusement at the sight of the kobold looking over the documents but doesn't say anything.
Jorah finds that the documents all appear to be legitimate and many of them appear to have notes from Volo himself written on some of the documents indicating that he had a hand in overseeing their creation. After some Quick math adding up the different fees and costs outlined in the contracts, The total comes out to the amount you had been told by Volo. 1000 gold dragons for the repairs and one time expenses to get get the tavern licensed and operational and a 250 gold dragon yearly cost that includes reoccurring fees for ale shipments, meat shipments, and other similar shipments and utilites. This also includes your guild fees as members of the Fellowship of Innkeepers.
Jorah presses up his glasses (anime style) and states to his own party the details of the document, "Overallz, itz very safe and will save uz lotz of coinz in the future, if wez wishez to start a bar." Jorah wasn't particularly opposed to the bar idea, especially if it brought in food, coin and possible things to steal borrow from passing clients. Putting down the papers, he would take off his glasses, nearly folding them before putting them down, "Zhat said. Mez friendz and I, are notz richiez. We would need to find coinz to payz for zhis." He looked over to the trio and raised a scaled eyebrow, "Youz wouldn't happenz to havez a job for uz? No?"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The first thing Marla does is cast Detect Magic via a ritual, to make sure there's no unexpected magic in the room. If there's no unexpected magic she will retrieve her things at a steady pace, making sure to check for hidden sigils or other things that could be used to track the items magically (i.e. passive, not yet activated, magic - if that wouldn't be picked up by Detect Magic. She'll also make sure there isn't anything *extra* that doesn't belong to her. She'll take her time, being very thorough (read: paranoid). While she does this she'll look for anything missing (which includes hair from her brush etc...).
Flowers looks up from his place on the floor at the suits that just came in. He leisurely licks powdered sugar off his paw and feigns disinterest in their affairs. But he catches the tall ones eye, then glances at his maul, and then back at the person, before licking his paws some more.
As Marla casts her spell and begins looking through her belongings, she notices a very faint glow coming from a change of clothes tucked away in her pack.
She also notices that there might be a few hairs missing from her hair brush
Marla looks over to Misha, her eyes hard and angry ‘They’ve placed some form of magic on my spare clothes. I think it’s likely to be something that would alert them to me moving them, or to trap me when it’s moved...’ she then turns even grimmer ‘I think they have some of my hair too...’
She thinks for a moment. ‘They don’t get to keep my stuff. I’m going to have us wait outside the room and have Shade trigger it. Be ready...’
She leads Misha outside of the room, and has Shade re-emerge from her pocket dimension. Shade goes into the room and pulls the clothes out of the bag.
Marla is holding a Magic Missile ready in case someone hostile jumps out of a nearby door...
‘Someone rich and important didn’t like the answers I gave when I performed a reading for them, and they’ve dispatched their hirelings to hassle me since. I’m starting to think I need to be more proactive in explaining the consequences that happen when you stalk, and invade the privacy, of a woman steeped in the fates.’

You are pretty darn sure that you locked the door.
Jorah walks up and opens the door, looking up at the people who knocked on their home entrance. "Whoz are youz? What iz it that youz want?"
Misha takes a moment to take off her coat, latch into her armor and ready her sword and shield. If Marla unlocks the door in some shape or form, Misha will open it quickly, and go through, shield up.
Alexa appears behind Jorah with a smile. "Hello. As my friend said, how can we help you?"

Marla reaches for the door handle, twists it, and shoves open the door, stepping to the side to give Misha dibs on any miscreants...
"Any miscreants in here?" Misha asks, scanning the room. "Come and meet Misha and Marla!"
As Marla opens the door and Misha steps inside, the room appears empty. The only sound is the creaking of the door as it finishes swinging on its hinges and the sounds of you both breathing. At a glance everything appears to be where you left it.
