Dweldyn does not appear as he was before. When standing at the helm, and when confronting Vestigar, he was a strong, stalwart figure. But now, he seems to be reduced to a scared and confused man. Dweldyn takes a second to gather his words, his lips still quivering as he begins to speak. "I...I was hired to capture Exotics and bring them to the slave blocks of Drecester. I would have let the rest of you go peacefully." Dweldyn seems to realize his response is not very satisfying, and quickly follows with, "I don't remember much about the voyage, to be honest. That thing...I'm not sure what it was, but it took control of me...possessed me, I suppose you could say." Dweldyn furrows his brow. "I might have already said too much, though."
Kiera, you find multiple weapons. 3 shortswords and 4 daggers, though they appear to be in disrepair. These crewmembers seem to be poor, as they have little riches. You manage to find 2 gold pieces, 6 silver pieces, and 14 copper pieces. There is only one other item of significance you can find. Around the neck of the unconscious Jhelra, tucked behind her jacket, is a silver necklace. It has shiny, clean silver beads that glimmer in the sunlight, with a pendant that reads OV, with a small picture of a bird next to the letters.
Kiera, you are familiar with some religious entities that could have conjured such a thing, but you aren't exactly sure. You can tell, however, that whatever it is, it's a very dark piece of magic that would require great magic to control.
Dweldyn nods. "I would've had to bring you three hundred miles to Drecester. Anywhere on this coastline will be safe. If you do wish to go to Mercasi, it's a 5 to 6 day trip by ship. The closest city from here is Idrasea. If you were quick, you could be there by morning." Dweldyn shifts uncomfortably. "I have no desire myself to visit anywhere on this coast. I'd appreciate it if I could be let go, along with any of my remaining crew?"
'I have no desire to visit these slavers, but you and your crew can earn back your lives by bringing us to the shores of Mercasi. After an incident like this one I feel like the presence of myself and my companions is warranted in this strange land.'
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
With the crew and their captain well in hand Vestigar will head to a bunk and meditate for an hour (short rest)
Calling to his companions as he heads below decks he says, 'I need a moment to rest. Be sure to call out if anything seems amiss. Perhaps we should all get together at some point and figure out our next move.'
Vestigar, you complete your short rest successfully.
(You can all now do what you please, as Dweldyn is steering the ship. Since this is a 5-day voyage, once you all have finished what you wish to do, we can skip ahead a day or two to keep the game from slowing down)
Aurlan will find the maps of the continent they are traveling to; he'll find Mercasi and any nearby cities/landmarks, as well as any other noteworthy features on the map, writing everything down in one of his notebooks.
Following that, he'll bring his lute out and play that for a bit, the rolling waves complementing the sound of his instrument.
Kiera will make food whenever it is needed and pray at night to Eilistraee by dancing under the moon and unless she see's any danger she's wearing her vestments
Otherwise she'll keep an eye on the horizon as they travel and try to fish to maybe get some more food
Aurlan, you find an old musty map in the captain's quarters of the ship. You can see that Mercasi is a standalone city on a peninsula that is almost completely uncolonized and reserved for farmlands. The closest city is Idrasea, which is on the other side of the sea. (I'll be putting a picture of the Cyndlith map on the OOC chat in just a moment)
Vestigar, you know that Mercasi is a small city built around agriculture and its beautiful countrysides. You do not recall hearing too much else about it, though.
Fayne walks around the ship asking anyone if she can help in any way and does her best to help them if she can. Other than that she doesn't do anything significant.
Everything goes smoothly for the first few days. The waters are calm, as is characteristic of the Amayan Ocean during this time of year. Dweldyn has devoted his entire time to steering the ship. The food supply is dwindling, but should last barely until Mercasi. All your characters will have taken long rests by now. But three days into your voyage, something interesting does occur. It is almost high noon, and you all see a ship advancing from the horizon. It is much larger and yet still faster than your ship, and is accompanied by four other ships. Both by the general design and the visible cannons on the sides of the ships, you can all easily deduce these are warships. Multiple flags are tied to the masts of the ships, and they are all the recognizeable yellow flag of the Avadorian Republic. Dweldyn looks weary but continues on steering the ship. He says, "I'd hope a problem does not arise from this, but to be safe, perhaps you all should return to your quarters below deck until the fleet passes."
What will you do?

'Indeed we have survived this ordeal but something tells me there are much greater hurdles ahead.'
13 Arcana check for info about the dark mass
'Unfortunately our victory must be short lived. We must figure out how to sail this vessel.. Does anyone have any ideas?'
There's an algorithm for that. 🦏
Vestigar, as far as you can tell, the dark mass has some form of divine origin, but you aren't sure of anything specific.
Kiera starts to split the money equally among the crew and gives the necklace back to Jhelra, she also wants to ask her something when she wakes up
"May you find your way once again in the glittering light of the moon and stars"
OOC: Could I also make a relgion check about the mass in that case? If so roll is 16

Aurlan crouches down beside Dweldyn. "I see. Is there any town on the continent where we won't be sold as slaves that we can land at?"

(Nice!)
Dweldyn seems almost scared of Vestigar, nodding vigorously. "Yes, of course." Dweldyn will stand and try to make his way to the helm of the ship.

Kiera, you don't see any ships nearby.
