Kanlos shrugs, "I don't think it is really a secret. As for the center, I am curious, I don't like to see the dead walk, and I think it'd be a good idea to find a way to prevent future shipwrecks."
Io nods. "On one hand, I too dislike seeing the dead walk the earth and would like to prevent future shipwrecks. On the other hand, I am a bit worried that by doing so we will have scorned Erebos as I suspect these particular undead might be his servants." He looks at all the wrecked ships and says, "Well... perhaps it would be worth earning some ire if it means we prevent further tragedies."
"Friends, I care not about the wants of Erebos or the others, but so long as I get off I also care not about other shipwrecks," Livilias points out. "Perhaps that makes me selfish? But you say I am a survivor... I would like to continue being one, yes?"
Xerronios opens his mouth to disagree, closes it, then opens it again. "I have an idea. Let's speak with our new companions because while it's not just our fate, we are already here and we really have no idea what the interior holds. This island may be what we seek. I don't think so, but who can say?"
Returning to the others, he nods at the owl. "Have you used your familiar to scout the interior? If not, would you be willing to do so? If not, how about carrying a message to our ship's captain?"
ooc: Kaemgen, remember that Xerronios took the others aside for a private conversation.
“Truth be told, my friend, I have tried to keep Owlie close. A pair of eyes to watch our back, and all that. There have been plenty of dangers on the beach that seem to come from the center… I saw no reason to try to draw attention to ourselves,” Livilias explains.
“Sure enough, if you write a small not my owl can surely deliver it if given some directions… Do you wish to advise your captain that you are returning with friends? Very wise. Very wise indeed… The more the merrier, but merrier still if one can plan on having enough food and drinks!”
Windlass speaks up. "I can also make myself, or someone else, invisible for a time, if that would help in scouting. I'm not that quiet, but perhaps someone else is. So the plan is to look at the middle of the island, see if it is possible to ascertain the oddities, and then leave on your ship? What happens if we find threats, or valuables? How does your group handle that?"
"Actually, I was thinking we'd let the Captain know we want to explore...assuming we do...and see what she says. I'm assuming Owlie could wait for a response?" replies Xerronios.
Livilias, in his friendly and boisterous way, is all for returning to the ship and leaving. Or returning yo the ship and strategizing (with a bent towards pushing for leaving.) But if/when it is clear that exploration is a must(?) he will agree to go along as if that had been his intention all along.
In argument for ship first, he will point out that Windlass and himself have stored away some very fine wines and whiskeys they have recovered from the other shipwrecks, along with some other items of value and interest. It would be a shame to leave this behind cause we poked an undead hornets nest and had to flee expeditiously… ((Really just inconsequential knickknacks and such, whatever they found they thought worth stockpiling. But no “real” goodies.))
But alas, once nite it written Mivilias and Owlie will carry it forth…
Xerronios looks to Io and Kanlos for confirmation. "I'm thinking it should read: Captain, encountered several undead w/mark of Erebos. Found 2 survivors-owl is familiar of one. Only been along the coast. Thinking of exploring interior before returning to ship. Thoughts? Owl will bring response. Enjoyed freeing Tritons from big shark."
With the note safely tied to its leg, the small owl flies off in search of the Proud Jester. It is gone for some time.
Before it returns though, another band of undead come along the path. You would notice them from a distance, and have time to do something prior to them seeing you. What would you like to do? At this distance the type of undead is unclear.
“Anyone want to set an ambush on the path?”Windlass asks the group. She looks fit possible hiding places down the path and also tries to count the number of undead she can see, even though she sees Kanlos with his helpful device.
Io looks at them through his visor and says, "To me, they seem like survivors. I think telling them about our journey should be alright."
Kanlos shrugs, "I don't think it is really a secret. As for the center, I am curious, I don't like to see the dead walk, and I think it'd be a good idea to find a way to prevent future shipwrecks."

So are we checking out the island further or finding your way back to the Proud Jester?
Kanlos shakes his head, "Its not just our fate, let's return to the ship and inform the captain of what we've found. Get her input on this."
Xerronios opens his mouth to disagree, closes it, then opens it again. "I have an idea. Kanlos nods, "I can move fairly quietly, and making me invisible would certainly assist with that. If that is our decision."
"Actually, I was thinking we'd let the Captain know we want to explore...assuming we do...and see what she says. I'm assuming Owlie could wait for a response?" replies Xerronios.

“Just don’t ask Owlie to write the note, huh?”
If you go with the note, then just let me know what it says.

Kanlos would pull out his spyglass and try to get a better view of the undead.

Io suggests, "If we are to go deeper, we best not waste our energy on patrols now. We should probably hide and let the Undead pass."
