It is hard work, but the group of you are able to get the final two cages up. (Figured no reason to make you roll it, there was little chance of failure at this point.)
By now it is getting towards night, and going down the spire in the dark does not seem like a very good idea. The four sailors, two men and two women, are worse-for-wear, but alive and happy to be rescued. Remember, if you wish to know what the magical items do, you have to either identify them, or spend an hour studying them. Please give me the watch order, as well as perception rolls for each watch. Also, do you stay in the rookerie, or do you set up camp atop the spire itself?
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
ooc Xerronios will take first watch and I suggest we move to the rookery. Perception 18
Xerronios settles down with the items found by Io to ritually identify them. After, he joins his companions and the rescued sailors for a meal before settling in for the first watch.
(Only Io or Kassiopeia can use the shield, and no one can use the ring at the moment, as far as I understand. I'm fairly sure one of our resident clerics would spend the time to identify and attune to that item if possible.)
"Let's see if we can find some place defensible here," Ritha replies, searching the rookery for a place both comfortable, sheltered from the high winds, and defendable from any stray returning harpies or other creatures. Survival: 21 (17 + 4 Guidance)
Ritha, exhausted from the effort of pulling up the cages, offers to take the third watch. She then goes about tending to the sailors' wounds, and offering them food if necessary, before getting some much-needed rest of her own. She wakes up groggy and feeling unprepared for her watch, however. Perception: 13 (12 + 1 Guidance)
ooc: Anyone can use the shield, Enkida, though only those 2 characters are proficient. It's magical reflection properties would be useful for anyone. That said, Xerronios has no interest in it. Also, Xerronios has already identified the item and we've learned the sad news that no one is currently able to use that item :(
(My bow and 2-weapon wielder literally can't use that shield unless she grows a third hand XD Also I'm not sure eating disadv on every ability check, saving throw, or attack roll that involves str or dex, and being unable to cast spells, is worth the buff)
((I was busy with IRL for a day and completely forgot to split the loot))
When the party sets camp, Io will split the loot he found. He would hand off the magic items to Xerrinos to Identify (which I guess he already did). He will give each party member:
600 CP 425 SP
Knowing the gems can't evenly be distributed between all 4 of them since there's 7 gems, he would ask the Party, "Since we have about 70 GP and 7 gems each worth 50 GP for a total of 350 GP worth of gems, what do you say each of you take 2 gems and 5 GP for a total value of 105 GP and I will take 55 GP and the remaining gem, also valuing 105 GP"
After thinking for a moment about the money, Kassiopeia remarks: "I think we have to redo the splitting, unless I missed someone saying that they want none of this?"
"We got 2400 copper plus 1700 silver plus 70 in gold and the 350 worth in gems. That's 24gc + 170gc + 70gc + 350gc = 614gc in total. Setting aside 14gc and dividing 600 by 5 would make 120gc share for each. I am fine with taking my share in Silver Coins which would be 1200. I might need the silver for a miracle or two."
"Unless one of you needs silver as well?"
"It would be up to you to decide if you want gems or coins."
Kanlos listens with increasing perplexity, "Look, why don't we just split the silver and copper as Io suggested and set aside the gems and gold for future costs?"
((Okay I made a mistake on dividing things up. I accidentally divided everything by 4 instead of 5 so I think I need to redo the splitting as well))
Io listens to the math and says, "I ike this proposal of keeping some aside for emergencies... However I propose that since the gems are somewhat messing up the divisions, we set two of them aside for emergencies and divide everything else 5 ways? 1 gem for everyone, 14 GP, 340 SP and 480 CP. Does that sound good?"
You end up having an uneventful night, though there seemed to be some issues around the splitting of the loot, but the group came to an understanding after a bit.
The next morning you start the climb back down the spire, though, with ropes, grappling hooks, and pitons, going down is much easier than going up had been. On the way you have some time to look around. You feel confident that anything of value would have been carted off to the rookerie by the harpies, and that the rest of the island is nothing but barren rock. with this knowledge you make your way back to the bay, and the rowboat that still awaits you there.
You make your way back out to the open sea, where the Proud Jester is waiting for you. Gnorcys has a quick debriefing meeting, where you fill her in on the details from the island.
"So this is not our destination then." Gnorcys says once the details of the island is given to her. "Good work at saving our sailors." She informs you. After the meeting the ship is steered away from the island, and back towards the uncharted seas and the next island.
Ritha sits back and relaxes, after what seems like a very long day. Happy that the sailors have been returned safely, she decides rather than to retire to her bunk to rest, to stay above-deck and observe the sea. The sea is relatively calm - Thassa is pleased with their progress, Ritha guesses, and the placid surface of the water reflects the sky above very well. She spends some time observing the shifting, wavering form of the white clouds overhead, transformed into amorphous, unrecognizable shapes by the sea's waves.
Lost in her meditation, Ritha slowly begins to lose her sense of self. She forgets, as she watches the sky meeting the sea, that she's sailing on a ship, on Thassa's blessed waves. Instead, it looks to her as though the sky is falling, or perhaps the ship is rising - and suddenly, they are no longer traversing through an ocean, but rather sailing through the clouds themselves. But the twisted, undulating shapes are not the sky; they're almost like wisps... strands, or echoes, of worlds unknown. For a brief moment, her vision goes black, and the ship's surroundings take on the starry, dark form of her very familiar cloak of stars. She feels adrift, unmoored from the world... but not lost. It's almost a comfortable sensation, even... as though something has finally fallen into place and clicked; a part of her soul that was always bothered and restless finally found itself.
One blink of her eyes, and the image of the astral sea dissipates... once again, she is merely sitting on the deck of the ship, surrounded by the depths of Thassa's sea, and the boundless blue sky overhead. But it feels as though something has changed within her... as if a part of that ethereal plane that she witnessed has come back to settle within her breast. Bowing her head, Ritha whispers a prayer of thanks to Thassa:
"Oh great Goddess... I thank you, both for allowing me to see the vastness of this great universe, and for mooring me in Theros, so that I do not go astray or drift away. May your blessings protect me ever further, and in return, may I carry your will out in this world.. and any others that beckon to me."
She withdraws a gold coin from her pouch, kisses it, and tosses it into the sea, before settling back to watch the waves once more, silent and contemplative.
((So are we in agreement of putting the two gems away for emergency use and everyone else getting 1 gem, 14 GP, 340 SP and 480 CP. ))
Io at the end of the day will return to his quarters and pray to Athreos for wisdom, mental clarity and guidance. The Island itself proved to be not very helpful. Perhaps the next island?

Ritha nods and accepts Io's division of the spoils.
Kassiopeia takes a look at the sailors and tends to their wounds, so they won't suffer any further.
She will also hand out two rations and a waterskin to the sailors to split amongst them for dinner.
(A ration is a days worth of food, so one ration should be more than enough for one meal for two people?)
After the sailors are taken care of, Kassiopeia will take a glance at the items and coins.
"If I may make a counterproposal?"
Looking at the four of you: "We have 350 in gems and 70 in gold. How about putting aside some of the stuff we find for medical emergencies?"
"I know I am a little overcautious, but I'd rather not be caught with my ... aeh ... unprepared ... you know."
"Also, that is a nice looking shield."
After thinking for a moment about the money, Kassiopeia remarks: "I think we have to redo the splitting, unless I missed someone saying that they want none of this?"

Xerronios shakes his head in bemusement as the others bicker over who gets what, as he sits down to find out if the ring and the shield are magical.
"Just tell me what my portion is."
Tandor the White, Human Life Cleric
Ritha nods, the mathematics of it all buzzing around her head beyond her comprehension. "Let me know what you require, Kass, and you shall have it."
Kanlos listens with increasing perplexity, "Look, why don't we just split the silver and copper as Io suggested and set aside the gems and gold for future costs?"
