This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
While Kallen is trying to remember if she knows anything about the statue, Brencharis is going to try and if there’s anything hidden in or underneath it.
Prentiss smiles sadly to Kallen, taking no offence. "I speak the language, but know little of the monsters themselves. I like Velshir's plan, to make it look as if a nervous cultist has a hair trigger and starts a battle with the dragon. Would it really need all of us to be disguised? Surely just one, firing from behind the cultists, can dive into cover and we all wait until they beat each other down?"
“If but one of us could acquire their strange outfit, it may be enough. They were wearing those distinctive masks, I wonder if we could get one.”
“Then, at the moment of attack, we could cry out, ‘Well done everyone, the dragon is exposed, attack!’ ”
“Then the one disguised will send an attack at the dragon, and then we flee. At the very least it would disrupt this group’s efforts to join with the dragon. I just feel that it’s important to pull this weed now before it grows into a bigger threat.”
Kallen and Brencharis both approach the statue in the square studying it thoroughly to learn all that they can. Except that with some strength it could be toppled and after an intensive search, Brencharis finds nothing below, upon or cavities within it to hide things in. Kallen thinks that it may have been someone of significance, for why would they erect a statue otherwise, but has no idea who it represents.
The others trail along behind discussing plans of subterfuge.
"If need be, I know enough about poison to potentially put together some masks that can hopefully protect us better then the ones we currently have. It depends on what we all have however. I do have a poisoner's kit on me, but that's typically something you'd use to poison someone, not prevent someone from getting poisoned. I'll see what I can do though, and anything you guys can contribute would definitely help. I think it'd be best if I did this back at Reidoth's cabin so I don't get interrupted hopefully." If Reidoth is nearby she'll turn towards him. "Reidoth, do you have anything in your cabin that might help counteract a green dragon's poison?" If not she'll wait for a response from the group.
“It would be good to prepare for any possibility. My plan does involve fleeing, however. I would volunteer to be the one to come out of hiding and make the strike against the dragon. I am fleet of foot and should be able to escape.”
"I have also received special training on how to run incredibly fast, at least for a short time. I should be able to escape the dragon."
( Step of the Wind : You can spend 1 ki point to take the Disengage or Dash action as a bonus action on your turn, and your jump distance is doubled for the turn. )
Reidoth appears almost out of nowhere from the nearby foliage, "Of course, I'm not sure of anything particularly useful but there is more cloth and various remnants from its previous occupants. It might be worth a trip just to rest a short bit? I have some supplies left and can always cook up a soup?" He presents a handful of nuts, "I always seem to return to myself with a pocket of these." He says with a smile.
(assuming back tracking through the path that got you here to Reidoth's)
The group slips quickly back along the route that brought them to their present position, skirting past the Cultists abode again and off to the West. The general perceptions of the group pick up that they probably noticed your passing and were on alert but did not emerge. They appear to still be within the building, but it is unknown to you as to how many are inside.
Reidoth unlocks the well secured door and enters the building welcoming you back in. Then moving to various corners stirring up dust, he pulls up rags, a few bits of leather, various utensils and small containers (cups, bowls, old waterskin), some bits of costume jewelry, old worn books, worn down candles, bits of string, various pieces of broken furniture and a variety of miscellaneous herbs and powders and groups them all into an area of the room in no particular order (more of a pile except for the herbs and powders which you think are of his own collection but at your disposal). "It's not much, but you're welcome to use any of it that you need." He says waving at the jumbled selection, then straightening his robes he moves over to a small fireplace again lighting it was a small work of gesture and vocalization to start brewing a nut soup.
During the daytime the room is illuminated by various worn sections of room and through arrow slits in the windows sufficient for basic needs.
(short rest may be taken by all as you plan your next steps.)
Brencharis will first search Reidoth's house for anything useful that she can use for the masks. As she does so she'll say: "Anyone who is able to help me with these masks, whether it's through magical assistance, or contributing supplies towards making the masks will be higher priority for getting one. Hopefully I'll be able to put one together for everyone, but I make no promises." She then continues her search, and then after that's done, she'll lay out her poisoner's kit and start sorting out what she will and won't need for the masks.
Reidoth moves to study what Brencharis is working on and points to the herbs and powders "These might not prevent but they could certainly distract or resist the effect of the acidic nature of a poison. The wax perhaps may give an added layer of protection delaying the acids connection with skin or organs."
Brencharis can gather up enough materials to work up something for each of the party. I will have you roll each in turn to demonstrate success. DC 15 would create an advantage on saves. DC 20 would give an automatic save once, but the item is destroyed as a result.
@ Brencharis 5 d20 rolls with Intelligence bonus and advantage for help from the party.
Reidoth grins as Brencharis works her wonders on assembling mask after mask with incredible efficiency, others aiding in various aspects of the projects. "Beautiful work Brencharis! I think I might have learned a thing or two." Ultimately it takes a couple hours to achieve this high level of success but only leading into early afternoon. As the final mask is created for Joshua, materials start to run short, but he still finds that it will have the potential of reducing the effects of any poisonous attacks and most likely more than once. Seeing this different result on Joshua's others can see that potential tweaks to the masks may alter from a single protection to a reduced option over multiple uses.
By the time all preparations are completed you've all eaten, rested and can be back at the square should you wish.
What do you do? (if anyone wishes to do anything at Reidoth's or along the way I can capture that in the next post)

Velshir eats the nuts with thanks.

"Good idea Brencharis, any help against that monster could be the edge that we need" says Prentiss.

(Intelligence + Proficiency? That's something I can work with lol.)
Brencharis gets the second best
Velshir gets the highest quality mask
Kallen gets the fourth best mask
Prentiss gets the third best mask
Joshua gets the worst mask unfortunately

Velshir accepts his mask and appraises it appreciatively. “This is excellent work, Brencharis. I thank you.”
Prentiss takes the mask with a grateful nod and fixes it around his face. "This is going to be very helpful Brencharis, thank you"
