The huge lizard lashes out at Bel with its claws, (Attack: 27 Damage: 21 slashing)...

 ...and Bel trips and begins to fall! 

GB, yes you can use your reaction! Let me know how you try and save Bel! A Strength check to grab him and stop him from falling seems to be the most straightforward, so you can roll that or let me know if you want to do something different.

GB sees Bel begin to fall towards the creature below.  He swiftly darts towards Bel in hopes of pulling to safety.

Bel being much heavier than GB was expecting, the Aarakocra and half-elf both tumble to the floor below, next to the large iron chests you noticed earlier.

(no falling damage)

The great lizard looks at you, its yellow eyes gleaming. A low, menacing rumble comes from its gullet. Its vicious-looking mouth is a mere few paces from where you stand, and you can see that it is easily big enough to swallow either of you whole. 

The smelly presence that was near Aregarak slowly dissipates, and the padding sound on the damp ground fades into the darkness.

Aregarak sighs.....gets really angry like (rage) and runs toward the hole and leaps in with his greatsword leading the way on to the lizard creature thingy

Aregarak lands on the huge creatures' back, and strikes at the tough, scaly hide with his magical sword. The lizard seems aggravated, and seeks some way to unseat the minotaur...

Lana takes her bow and aims at the giant creature hoping to distract it from munching on her companions. Whispering her ensnaring strike on her arrow.

Lana's bow is still enchanted with the ensnaring strike spell, but her arrow glances off the lizard's tough skin. 

//Is the creature large enough that I can cast Shatter without hitting anyone else?  It is a 10ft radius.  Wanted to double check before casting for Aregarak sake.  If too close GB will cast Acid Arrow.//

GB will cast Shatter at the beastie.  Con save 12 or 20 Thunder dmg.

 Aiming off to the side, GB is able to catch the lizard in the high-pitched sound. Everyone else's ears ring momentarily, and the lizard bucks and shakes its head against the sudden sonic burst.

Spirit looks at Lana and roars as she jumps down on top of the Lizard and bites at its skin.
