“No! I beg of you, please...if you take me out of this room, I will die a horrible, painful death!” Idalla’s fear of Aregarak seems to be renewed.

Lana frowns at Aregarak "We will do no such thing" telling the big oaf before turning back to the girl "we will find this wizard and take care of him so you may be free" she told her as calm as possible. Bending down to help calm the woman again.

The dark-haired Idalla nods, seeming grateful. "I know of a secret passage...it's close, and it leads to the wizard's chambers down below. I don't think he'll expect you. He keeps to himself, because of all the ghosts and other undead patrolling these halls." She shivers as she considers these things. "He keep saying that he is studying "prolonged life," and that I am supposed to be the key to his studies. I don't even know what that means, but I don't want to find out!" 

Idalla nods to the west. "The secret corridor nearby runs ultimately into the lair of an ancient black dragon. So you'll want to be careful how far you traverse. And there's a dead dwarf, a mad, gibbering spirit, that roams around here...so you'll want to be careful of him too. I know a lot about Khundrukar and the Durgeddin...the wizard is always going on about the dwarves and their failure against the orcs." Again she shivers. "If I tell you where to go, you'll kill the wizard and free me? And I'll tell you anything else you want to know, too." 

GB sits quietly and listens to the woman continue and listens to his gut.

 Idalla seems very earnest—afraid of this wizard, and willing to help in whatever ways she can so as to free herself.

“I think we can help” Bel tells her. “What can you tell us about the wizard that can help us? 

“The wizard is smart, but I think he’s insane. He talks a lot about Durgeddin and about prolonging his life, and not much else beyond random rants here and there. Uh...he keeps an animal, maybe a familiar of some sort, that looks a little bit like a winged snake. He can become invisible, I think. And...he carries a staff. He can use the staff to control people’s minds. I’ve had it done to me before. It was...horrible...”

While she continues to speak, Idalla points out the way to the secret passage. 

// Aregarak, please make a Wisdom saving throw. //

//uh oh - I knew I didn't like her!//

Even while Idalla is explaining how to reach the secret passage, you are interrupted. From the darkness outside the room, you here a brief scuffle, followed by the shuffling of several feet and an audible, deep groan. 

Lana’s bow flares in warning.

Aregarak will move to put himself between the sound and Idalla

"You will be safest behind me m'lady"and he grips his greatsword ready for action.

Upon hearing the noise, Bel spins around with blade ready for whatever comes.

GB gets along side of Bel and readies himself for what may come from the shadows,.

Lana turns and faces the door way standing in between the woman and the door with Spirit on guard beside her.

Idalla stifles a scream as Spirit enters the room, but calms down quickly when she realizes Lana has control over the beast.

”What is it? What do you sense?” She asks you. 

The scraping, shuffling sounds outside the room grow louder, but you still have no visual contact with whatever is out there.

What do you do?
