You find yourselves standing at the mouth of a cave. Inside, bright firelight flickers, casting eerie shadows on the ragged, jagged, walls. You each had been sent a mysterious message with a marked map and the words "You have been summoned." In common, but in Giant script. At the back of the shallow cave stands a man, perhaps 8 feet tall. The tribal tattoos and deep scars on his gnarled body betray him for a rare sight; a VERY old Goliath. Thick cataracts frost over his blue eyes and he is naked from the waist up, wearing only a long kilt, tinted blood red by the madly dancing fire. "The storm fortold is nigh," his voice boomed, echoing aboud the chamber, "I hear the rumblings in the earth's bones. The runes have been cast. Perhaps you will ride the thunder, perhaps you will perish, but only you may stand before the eye." With a howling gust of wind that you can not feel, the firelight is snuffed. "Seek out Nightstone!" The Goliath's voice booms. When the bellowing wind receeds into quiet, your eyes adjust to see an empty cave with no sign of a fire or of an occupant.
Aye, well... Cael looks around at his new companions, that was fecking cryptic. The half-elf runs his fingers through his bright red hair and lets out a heavy sigh. He pats the long neck of his red riding bird as he walks to her other side and begins rummaging around in his saddlebags. So, de any of ye ken what a Nightstone is?He finds a dead stoat in the bag and flips it to the bird, in his other hand he holds the map that brought him to the cave, inspecting it for any changes.
A tall (6'5) figure stands in the shadows of the cave entrance with the other three strangers. Although deep footprints may at times, its thin figure does not immediately give away the nature of its heavy (300lb) frame. Swathed in a traveler's cloak, common clothes and even some leather wraps on its hands while also leaning over a quarterstaff to reduce its height just a bit, the figure does not necessarily reveal that it is a warforged at first glance. Even the face looks humanoid from afar, but a closer look reveals a pristine mask made of a smooth material that is perhaps porcelain. Occasionally when the cloak and shirt shift a name plate can be seen on its metal chest with the letters M-E-E engraved. The last E is followed by a small mark that does not seem to carry any obvious meaning.
After the scene in the cave unfolds, the warforged turns to Cael as he speaks. "Greetings, I am Mee. I hope you are well." The voice might pass for that of a humanoid if not for a bit of an echo, as if speaking through a tin can. "The meaning of the words spoken by the figure before us just now are not apparent to me. I will seek out Nightstone." It then twitches awkwardly, the head tilting back and forth before responding more directly to Cael's question. "Nightstone..."
(does Mee recognize the name Nightstone from the maps, or his prior knowledge?)
Rendell hangs back against the cave wall. His bright green eyes adjusting to the dark of the cave, in the meanwhile toying with his knife. With a confident "Hey I'm Rendell. I thought let's have a laugh and see what this map will bring me. I know why I'm summoned but why would he have summoned you guys". And looks around a bit taunting. He gets up, pets the big tin can on the back mumbling: "note to self, good to hide behind" and then walks on to the others. Rendell gets out a wand, taps it twice after which a light twinkeling (detect magic) is seen around him...
(Do I detect anything magic in a 30 foot range?)

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to
(From the warforged, you'd detect a storage space in his abdomen that is magically larger on the inside than it should be (bag of holding), along with simply any other magic it might take to keep a warforged running.)
"May I inquire, Rendell, why it is that you were summoned here?"
"Ah the inquisitive type. I like that. Well I'm summoned because this group needs a leader. We can't go running in all directions, one man has to make the tough decisions. Which may not always be nice decisions BTW." Rendell says to Mee. "Mighty strange glow you have there in your stomach "

"You are correct, Rendell. As I do not know the direction to Nightstone, one who could lead would be a sufficient resolution to this quandary." The others surely notice that Mee is very rigid in the way it speaks, and seems to lack many skills prevalent in normal humanoid dialog in favor of cold, logical statements.
"Strange? Is your definition for this word perhaps very different from my own? This is in fact a somewhat common enchantment. The use of such extra-dimensional spaces all over our world is well documented. It is statistically likely that you have been within one hundred yards of such an enchantment before, although if you have made a notable effort to avoid major settlements the assumptions behind the relevant mathematics do falter there." Mee sounds like he could ramble on about enchantments, probabilities and other such things for a good long while, but does pause to lift his shirt, open a metal plate of armor and then open up part of his slender metal torso to reveal the glowing space. He reaches in, pulls out a light crossbow to show to Rendell, and then returns it to his storage compartment and closes it up.
(don't worry, I think two bards and a warlock will be a good influence on Mee's conversational skills! ;) )
An aloof woman stands near the cave entrance, leaning against the smooth stone. Kallaia's branched horns and pointy ears make her appear like some sort of fey creature out if its element. Her auburn hair and green eyes match well with the deeply tanned leather armor covering her slender form. "Slow your roll there Rendell. Some of us ain't exactly the type to be led. We don't even know yet what we'll be doing in Nightstone or to be honest, if we were even summoned to work together. As for me...let's just say I'll follow along as long as it remains interesting."
The young woman wanders over to where the goliath had stood and halfway looks over the area to see if anything appears out of place.

Rendell starts walking towards the exit of the cave, convinced that he knows the answer to his question.

Mee also steps deeper into the cave with Kallaia to look for anything interesting, whether it be objects, symbols, footprints or other evidence that the goliath was indeed there in physical form, etc. before the group departs.
Rendel, your detect magic spell is doing off like crazy. Oddly enough, you can't detect the type, but it feels celestial in origin. Everyone roll perception DC 20.
(I'm still here. Should we go to the nearest town if we aren't sure about Nightstone? Figured we were probably waiting on Minotaur regarding any further inspection of the cave.)
