Do you guys wish to take any of the three side quests?
SIDE QUEST: FINDING IARNO: Sildar will pay you guys 200gp total if you can find out what happened to Iarno.
SIDE QUEST: FINDING CRAGMAW CASTLE: Sildar will pay you guys 500gp total if you can find Cragmaw Castle, AND the location of the Wave Echo Cave.
SIDE QUEST: ORC TROUBLE: Harbin is looking for people to head east on the Triboar Trail, where travelers have reported trouble with a band of orcs near Wyvern Tor. He will offer 100gp total that would take care of the situation.
You've already agreed to do:
QUEST: THE BANSHEE'S BARGAIN
(Sister Garaele needs help with a task. She is trying to persuade a banshee named Agatha to answer a question about a spellbook. Garaele tried to seek her out in Agatha's lair, but she will not appear to her. Garaele asks if you all could be an intermediary to bring Agatha a suitable gift, a jeweled silver comb, and persuade the creature to tell you all what she knows about a spellbook belonging to a legendary mage named Bowgentle. Sister Garaele explains that if one of you flatters Agatha's vanity, she might trade the comb for an answer.)

I'm interested in the Orcs. Perhaps Harbin will trust us more if we take care of that problem. Coryn and Brugo seemed interested as well. I'd like to deal with the banshee before the orcs.
OOC: Yeah, Coryn's vote goes to immediately dealing with the Redbrands, and then the orcs and banshee after. No reason to leave a town under siege to go play with monsters.
((OOG I've had minor discomforts that become real pains, Redbrands needs some dealing with. Brugo is down with defending this town and it's people, but at what expense? I know he doesn't want to straight out murder this band of mercenaries that obviously are in cahoots with the mayor here...but I mean, if they pose a strong enough threat, then we will do what needs doing.))

"...Debts must always be paid, sometimes in more than blood and gold. But this is Ordo Ursa," Ren places his hand on Erakas's chest, right where the Dragonborn's heart is. "Right here. And it always has been and always will be. Don't ever forget that. Because I won't."
Serandis Mendaen (Aereni Elven Rogue/maybe one day Wizard)- Project Point Playtest
OOC: Obviously the Redbrand menace is much worse than we have been told. For all we know, Crispy is a Redbrand sympathizer! Be careful... Trust no one!
OOC: Well you have the option to make the felling blow non-lethal to knock them out instead of outright killing them. I believe so anyway. I'd have to look through the Player's Guide, but it seems like a viable option. Hardi wouldn't want to just slay them either, but he'll arrest the crap out of them!
((OOG Can I do an Insight roll on the townmaster/mayor guy... when Hardi was speaking to him, I don't trust him and his nonchalant way of dismissing us and that smile...creepy...
If yes...))
Insight: 11 ))

"Sometimes an attacker wants to incapacitate a foe, rather than deal a killing blow. When an attacker reduces a creature to 0 hit points with a melee attack, the attacker can knock the creature out. The attacker can make this choice the instant the damage is dealt. The creature falls unconscious and is stable."
OOC: Thanks for the info, Outlaw! As for Brugo's concern, no doubt the mayor is a little sleazy. I think mostly he's just a coward who's being pressured by the thugs.
As you head back into the street, you see four armed ruffians waiting for you. All of them are humans wearing grimy red cloaks, bandanas, and sashes, their hands on their weapons as they watch you. They're all wielding dual short swords.
One of the ruffians, moves forward, spits on the ground. "Time for you to move on, strangers. Give us your stuff, and be on your way..."
They laugh, and one of them say "Look at THAT one! He looks like a little lost puppy!"
They are ready for you guys, waiting for your move. No surprise, no advantage.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
((OOG How dare they be unable to parse dice rolls on us...the FIENDS! lol :P ))

OOC: I'd love to take on as much as possible. Extra XP. Extra resources.
This adventure has a lot to it, you guys are doing great, I know it's a lot to keep track of, but hang in there - it's gonna be a great adventure. =)
Lets see what the other say, and i'll explain the next scene.
Plus I know the holiday is coming up, and I hope you all have an amazing Turkey Day.
OOC: Hey, you too! Have a good Gobble Gobbler Day! I love side quests haha.

Sounds good. I will post the scene with the Banshee later tonight. (Unless the others, for whatever reason, have an objection)
OOC: Depends on how close the orcs are. If they, and the banshee, are far away then Coryn would rather deal with the Redbrands ASAP
Both locations are about a day away, and they are very close to one another.
I would say the redbrands need dealing with first. In and out of character.
OOC: Yeah, Coryn's vote goes to immediately dealing with the Redbrands, and then the orcs and banshee after. No reason to leave a town under siege to go play with monsters.
OOC: Doesn't really seem like they're under siege lol. Sounds like mild discomfort, but whatevs. I'm up for rooting out some 2-bit thugs.

OOC: In regards to knocking a creature out
"Sometimes an attacker wants to incapacitate a foe, rather than deal a killing blow. When an attacker reduces a creature to 0 hit points with a melee attack, the attacker can knock the creature out. The attacker can make this choice the instant the damage is dealt. The creature falls unconscious and is stable."
Love the discussion! Updating the story as soon as I get to work. :)
