Looking up at the the skeletons trapped in carbonite plaster, Sylyra comments to Hex, "An interesting way of paying homage to the deceased. Do you suppose they paid extra for that?"
"I think," Uragum starts, "that I don't quite understand city folk yet. When we die, we get buried somewhere out in the wilderness. All these bones here seem wrong to me." He shrugs, "to each their own though."
Hex shrugs at Sylyra, her eyes still at the ceiling. "Honestly, I don't even know. Would people even be willing to pay for that? Part of me wonders if the Kelemvorites just paid their families to decorate their catacombs."
When you reach the middle of the room, the plaster suddenly shatters, raining down upon your heads and eliciting a "Gah!" from Cassyt, who is able to dive and roll away from the jagged chunks along with Arnald and Sylyra. Hex, Ola, and Uragum take 1 slashing damage from the shards of falling plaster and bone.
Making the situation worse, some of the falling bones are still quite intact - three full skeletons wielding swords and still wearing old scraps of armor, seemingly intent on an attack.

"Darn it, more skeletons. Let's do this quick!" Uragum shouts out. He drops his torch and grips the staff in two hands again. He take a short little hop over to the nearest one while winding up for a huge swing and wacks at it.

Hex shouts in surprise as the skeletons fall from the ceiling. She runs back up the stairs before pulling her bow out and aiming at the skeletons. "See, this is why you dont put skeletons in the ceiling!"
If she isn't within 5ft of any skeletons, she'll run 30ft up the stairs and attack the nearest skeleton. If she is, she'll use her action to disengage then move away.

The debris got her too, but it seemed Hex suffered more. Before tiefling managed to run away, Ola shared the last heal she had (Cure Wounds9 ) and prepared to attack closest skeleton (Hexblade’s Curse on it)

"Who can blame them, really?" Sylyra asks, pumping magic into his staff once more. As ethereal green flames engulf the weapon, small motes of light drift down from the mistletoe dangling from one end. "I'd be mad if someone plastered my skeleton into the ceiling, too." He steps up to the nearest target and swings his staff with his weapon hand while defending himself with the shield in his other hand.

Hex, her fresh wounds already on the mend thanks to Ola, turns once reaching the stairs and fires an arrow into a skeleton's arm, chipping it off at the shoulderblade. The same creature uses its remaining weapon hand to turn aside Uragum's staff, slicing open the goliath's hand in the process. Arnald ties up with another skeleton, parrying sword against sword. Sylyra has better luck with his staff, blasting through the third skeleton's arm and rib cage with a single swing that scatters the bones across the floor.
Still quite clearly startled, Cassyt manages to bring only some meager sacred light down upon the skeleton fighting Arnald. It barely seems to notice.
Bones continue to fall from the ceiling, including two more intact skeletons - one that lands on the opposite side of Arnald, and another that lands near the stairs to the room, looking at Hex with chattering teeth as it separates her from the rest of the party.
