Silthras stays just outside the room and mutters something under his breath then, with a flourish, a spectral hand appears in the room, close to the dagger on the altar. It hovers there as he asks, "See what happens? Perhaps they are just works of...art?"
His expression suggests that he believes otherwise.
Silthras looks up from the knife and then map, and glances at the sculpture. "Are we trying to leave no trace, or are we doing what some of us..." he grins and tries not to look as Usul, "...might call a smash-and-grab?"
"Eh?" Usul says as he pockets the coins with a grin, then looking to the frame on the wall saying, "This new bag is pretty cool! Think we should take that?" He then heads over towards the desk to help with the search, just in case his friend missed something ((20)).
"Can you see how it triggered the door? And if we can open the door from the other side? Could be a way of stopping them following us from this side." He helps Usul try to understand the mechanism.
As Velyra approaches the statues, nothing happens. She gives them a once over and...Yeah, they just look like statues. They're very detailed stone statues - and incredibly gross - now that she's closer, she can see protruding bone pushing against skin in some places. But there's no indication that they'll move. While she's doing that, Silthras' mage hand...Hovers near the dagger. Still nothing happens.
Still in the previous room, Usul gives the desk a look over and confirms, there really is nothing else to it. No hidden drawers or compartments. While Silthras calls for his help on the sculpture that opened the door, he tries experimentally to remove it. It looks like it's just hanging on the wall, but it doesn't budge as he tries to move it. From what he can tell, it's pretty well attached. From inside the room with the altar, there is an obvious lever on the wall next to the entrance.
"Hold on."Before anyone else touches anything, Kal casts Detect Magic. He takes a careful look around the room, going over the altar, the statues, and turning around to look back at the way they came in.
The moment the spell activates, you feel a magical presence behind you. Activating the special sight, you see a light blue aura glowing around the hidden door you came through - the abjuration school of magic. Nothing else in the room gives off a magical aura.
"Hells."Kal mutters, staring at the aura. "I think we crossed through an Alarm spell. I don't think we're going to be alone for much longer." He crosses the room quickly, putting his ear to one door and motioning for someone else to do the same at the other.
Through Velyra's door, she can hear lots of movement on the other side. People shuffling around, sounds of creaking wood, and very faintly a voice that hisses "...give your hearts!" from deep within the room on the other side. Kal doesn't really hear much on his end except for very briefly a chair scraping back against stone, and then silence.
Silthras takes one last look at the sculpture and shakes his head, "Leave it for now."

The spectral hand remains hovering in the air as Silthras watches Velyra and Kal check the doors. Still wary of the statues, Silthras checks the door in the west wall, giving the status a wide berth and glancing at the altar as he passes it.
Just as Silthras is approaching behind Kal to the west door and Velyra backs away from hers, both are thrown open inwards. Silthras and Kal are met with seven crimson robed figures in what looks to be a dining area. Four wield wickedly curved scimitars, drawn and ready.
Velyra sees a similar sight in the bunk room in front of her. But at the back she sees a pale woman - ghost white skin with extremely light pink hair and silver irisless eyes, wielding a stave that looks to be carved from ice.
Loghain and Syl are able to see somewhat into both rooms, and Usul can see the figures standing in the doorways.
Gasping as the secret doors are flung open, and seeing his friends in danger, Usul moves north 10 feet to get a view into the western room, and while readying his bow instead whispers something to himself in gnomish as Silthras, Velyra, and Kal, all at the front feel bless enhance their actions.

While the warm power of Usul's spell washes over his friends, Velyra would see one of the seemingly unarmed robed figures(M5) pull a dagger from his robes, and stab it into his hand. Instead of raining onto the ground at his feet however, the blow flows into the air, spiraling through the doorway to coalesce into a blood red spear behind the cleric. As the spear stabs forward, he twists his bloodied hand in a gesture, shouting an infernal word to bring unholy flame down upon her.
Only Silthras would be able to see one of the other figures(N6) in that room chanting a quick spell, creating a shimmering red energy field around the man(L8) directly in front of Velyra, afterwards repositioning himself to get a better look into your area.
