Velyra's brow furrows as the two talk, and she cuts in briefly. "Why do we all need to go inside? Seems like all we might be doing is getting in the poor girl's way."
"Several heavily armed adventurers loitering in a well to do suburb should attract attention from the watch, and is very likely to be noticed by the people we are trying to meet."
As she's still snooping through the house invisible to check if anyone is home, Sylnora sends a telepathic message back to Kal to allay their fears after he relays the conversation. 'I'll be fine in here on my own. If anyone gets past your notice and gets inside I'll drop what I'm doing and get out. No risk tasking on my part.'
"So... when they enter the house by whatever means, what is our plan? They'll likely have lookouts...do we try to grab one of them? Or all barrell into the house? Or are we just here to observe. That would be the most prudent."
Sylnora disappears from the alleyway in a puff of silvery mist, reappearing almost instantaneously inside a room(Area 1) of the house through the window she was looking through. It is dark outside now dimly lit by moonlight, and the inside of the home itself is unlit. She appears in the room filled with sheet covered objects. They aren't furniture shaped - rather they're tall and somewhat slim. A quick peek underneath reveals statues of bronze, with faded paint that seems to be wearing away. Quickly, you canvass the house to make sure no is home. To your relief, none of the doors are locked.
First Floor
2 - A dining room with a small kitchenette type area. A door on the north wall leads out the back, and there is a staircase on the east wall. A string instrument sits on a table, and next to it a small brass telescope. 3 - The foyer area. In this room you immediately get a taste of whomever owns this house. Two metal statues flank the entry door at the front of the room, obviously weathered from old age. A quick glance around the room you see some bookshelves, and many display cases filled with all kinds of historical looking objects. 4 - An obvious bathing area. 5 - What seems to be the master bedroom. The door creaks a bit as you open, but there's no in the bed or anywhere in the room.
Second Floor
6 - A small workspace perhaps? There's bookshelves, and a table with some tools on it that you don't quite recognize. 7 - Some kind of storage area, there's crates, a wheelbarrow, more tools, and a couple chests. 8 - A study of some kind. Books lay haphazardly in piles on the desk, as well as some papers. 9 - Appears to be a showroom of some kind. There are many bookshelves, and couches for lounging. There's a bar in one corner. Several crates next to empty display cases are spread throughout the room, as well as a few more statues.
Satisfied that the house is empty, you set to work on setting up the alarm spells while the rest of the group finalizes their own plans...
"Let's just take it easy in the park for a bit then, look natural." Velyra offers, making her way down the alley. "If something goes wrong, we'll be close enough to make a difference."
We'll keep an eye out. Let us know if you need help with anything. Kal sends back to the wizard as he follows Velyra towards the park. He looks for a bench or somewhere close by that they could reasonably congregate without drawing suspicion and heads for it. "Should have brought some ale." He muses, glancing around the rest of the park to see if they're alone here now.
At some point very quickly into the three hours that will be her casting Alarm over and over again, Kal hears her voice in her head. 'Soooo...Where are you actually from.' Sylnora is 100% aware that she volunteered for this and came up with the idea. But monotonous tasks bored her to death very quickly. Escaping such things was part of the reason she left home in the first place.
Silthras gets fidgety after a time. It's the waiting that kills armies, he remembers. He looks around the park and up the alley ways. It's also ignorance. Bad intelligence.
"Someone should investigate the house" he says, his eyes briefly settling on Usul. "Knowing what it contains... what they are after..."
"One more person inside couldn't hurt, if only to calm your nerves some." Kal says, also looking to their little gnome friend. He blinks as Syl's voice pops into his head again, answering the question somewhat slowly. I don't remember the name. Some village on the western side of Silver Spine. The order took me when I was young, most my growing up was done at Lyla's Gift.
Continuing with the conversation, he adds,"although I'm not sure if we'll be able to know what they're looking for. Just try not to make a mess in your search, we don't want to leave a trace and spook them."
"After all the hours we spent unlocking those cabinets, and all the odd things they contained. I'm sure Usul might recognise something...something significant, or similar ...or out of place."
He looks around the small park. "Fewer of us here couldn't hurt, either."
As Sylnora finishes one Alarm spell and begins to move to another, she shoots back incredulously, 'They took you!? Just actually took you from your family like a kidnapping?'
"Maybe. I can also ask Syl what she saw in there." Quickly, Kal relays the question to her through the telepathic link, then responding to her questioning again...I was one of eight children, my family had plenty else to worry about. They did me a favor anyway, saved me from the terrible fate of being a goat herder for the rest of my life.
If no one else is around them at the moment, he'll lower his voice to speak of what he saw earlier. "About that man with Kaz...He was incredible. For a moment there I thought his radiance might burn my eyes out of their sockets. I can't imagine a being like that aligning against our interests. And we know what they were looking for, what was in those ruins. It could have been one of the other survivors."
"Broaching that subject seems difficult though. Especially with how careful we have to be."
With a faint smile Silthras nods, "If what you say is true then we should just do what they asked. The questions would be the opportunity to reveal what we know."
@DM: I know Sylnora only took a quick look, but are there any further details about what she saw that might be gleaned?
Sylnora thinks back to watch she saw as she searched the house, informing Kal of anything significant. She goes quiet for a few minutes after that, focusing on her spellwork before prodding him again. 'You still didn't answer my question you . Did your family know you were running off to join some knightly order?'

((@DM Or do we blend in with the locals?? ))
Ok...happy with whatever ppl think is best. Need to get to Syl fast if they just appear in the house tho.

@DM: Are we talking "historical" objects or "archaic" -- wondering if they are stealing old watcher remnants?
Syl really just took a glance over the room to check for people. Further investigation is up to her, but it would interrupt the ritual casting.
