Fril, your arrows once again stick into the massive creature as it looks up at you with anger. It probably tries to swat at you, harmlessly of course as you're much to far up in the air.
Halleth swings his fists at the goblins still standing, trying to knock them out. "Feeble creatures." Attack: 25 Damage: 7 Attack: 16 Damage: 11 both fists land on the poor goblins heads, bopping them real good. They are both out cold.

The ettin looks to be having a huge argument with itself. One of the heads wants to pursue you all, and the other doesn't You don't understand the language, but it's clear what's going on.
The head that wanted to come out wins the argument. The huge 2 headed creature stuffs itself into the 5ft hallway, standing over the unconscious goblins and making it to Halleth and is able to swing its two giant weapons towards the undead half-elf, albeit with disadvantage due to it being crammed in the passageway.
Attack: 13 Damage: 13
Attack: 13 Damage: 9
The battleaxe smashes into Halleth's rotting body, and the undead while taking the full damage just LAUGHS. The ettin's morningstar misses and slams against the wall.
The other ettin comes down further to join its 'friend'. Its heads are also arguing.
Peek would've also taken his readied shot, sticking the ettin right when it came into view.
Next Round: Farok, Pocket, Cami, Fril, Halleth, Peek, Ettins
Farok is up! You all can queue your turns as you see fit.
Maps are updated.
(Attack rolls against that Ettin are with advantage because it's stuck.)
On his turn, Fril draws back his bow and lets two more arrows loose at the stuck Ettin before backing up, but still staying in the air. When he shoots, he aims for the same head both times. His thought process is that if they take one head out, perhaps the other one will fall automatically. To the party he adds, "If we can keep it stuck, it'll be much easier to take down."
If somehow the first Ettin is dead by Fril's turn, his movement is instead 25 Feet North to take 2 potshots at the second Ettin and then 25 Feet South to end where he started. Finally, if the attacks are on the second Ettin, please disregard the advantage.
(Queuing-Peek)
Peek fires another arrow at the Ettin that is stuck. Staying well behind the rest of the group he hopes that he can stay well out of the giant's reach.
If the first Ettin is dead by Peek's turn, his movement is instead 5 Feet East with an attempt to hide as a bonus action (Stealth: 18) and then 5 Feet West to end where he started. Finally, he instead readies his attack on the second Ettin. If the first Ettin is dead and the hide attempt failed, please disregard the advantage.

Pocket's movements are almost automatic because Cami already knew what to do the moment her last turn started. The owl flies in and grabs the Protector off the floor, clutching it in its talons. Since Cami knew that the Ettins would lack the skills to hit the people at the back, Pocket is ordered to stay close to the melee people, but not too close to where they could get hit.
Movement: 5ft. northeast.
Interaction: Grab the Protector Cannon off the floor.
With the Protector set up, and immediately used again as soon as she can, Cami sets her sights on finishing up the ettin. Her resources were running really low, so she was limited to only using her portable cannon, which was fine. It was not a bad option, but being the only one was kinda worrisome. She aims at the ettin again, and fire. The explosive pellet went flying towards the giant.
Bonus Action: Activating Protector Cannon.
8Temporary HP to Halleth, Cami, Pocket, Fril, the cannon itself, and probably Farok. (depends on whether he moves out of the way of the Protector or not.)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Seeing the large creature attempt to squeeze itself through the hallway, Farok quickly runs over the bodies of the knocked out goblins to hold it in place, as the vines around him move as well. He then swings his sword at the creature hoping to take advantage of its inability to move.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Farok, you and the vines and flowers on the ground move to the mouth of the hallway and basically unleash hell with your sword on the giant monstrosity. It's pure gore as your sword cuts deep into its flesh, and large chunks of meat fall to the ground as you complete your precise slashes. The ettin's heads both yell out in pain which echo throughout the hallways.
Pocket grabs the cannon as described. Then Cami's protector cannon activates, and almost in the same moment, the small pellet flies towards the ettin. It connects, and immediately burns up the creature, cauterizing the huge wounds that were created by Farok (but not in a good way. Oh dear gosh not in a good way at all.) The ettin is now almost screaming in pain as the fire continues to burn it. The creature can barely stand now.
Fril, the first arrow is all it takes. You aim for the head, and it's a direct hit. The arrow sticks into the brain, killing the entire creature instantly. It falls hard to the ground.
Halleth laughs a sadistic laugh as he sees his new 'friends' just completely obliterate the ettin. He rushes forward like a savage, hunting down the other giant and taking it head on with two fists flying. No fear.
Attack: 26 Damage: 12
Attack: 24 Damage: 13
both fists connect and slam into the ettin's body.
Peek is able to hide quite well and does ready an arrow should the ettin come out.
The remaining ettin has one head who is crying because it's sad that it's friend (and lover) has just been brutally killed. The other head is screaming for revenge and the thing swings both weapons at Halleth.
Attack: 12 Damage: 10
Attack: 16 Damage: 11
both the axe and morningstar hit the undead, which would normally seem pretty brutal. Halleth takes the damage, but just keeps laughing.
Next Round: Farok, Pocket, Cami, Fril, Halleth, Peek, Ettin
Seeing the first giant fall at his feet, Farok sprints up and around the corner to put the hurt on the final one, swinging recklessly in an effort to bring it down as quickly as possible.
I have 40 feet movement. I should be able to just get to the north of it by making one, or two, diagonal movements up around the top Attack: 23 Damage: 13 Attack: 9 Damage: 9 round 5?
Seeing Farok charge in towards the Ettin, realizes that they are going to try and take this Ettin before it even makes it into the hallway. Flying at top speed, he bursts forward and staying in the air fire two arrows over the head of Halleth and into the Ettin. He also calls out to Peek, "Looks like we are taking this guy over here. You'll need to get closer to make your shot."
Move: 45 Feet North (Ending 5 Feet West of Halleth but 30 feet in the air)
Following Fril's direction, Peek sprints forward and nimbly fires an arrow up at the Ettin from behind Halleth before moving farther up to run around and get a better position on his next turn and make room for Cami or the cannon.
Move: 45 Feet North (Ending 5 Feet West of Halleth)
Action: Attack (Shortbow) (Against Ettin) Attack: 23 Damage: 5 (Ignore advantage if hide does not carry over between turns... I'm not super solid on the mechanics of this and I've had different DMs rule differently...)

Fril's still behind her when he sees her course of action (following initiative here). Cami asks for Pocket to approach and hand her the Protector, which she quickly puts back on her Bag of Holding. She then quietly walks 15 ft. northwest where she can find a wall far from the fight where she can sit close to. Sitting down, she never makes eye contact with anyone at all, except for Pocket, and she picks her portablecannon to try and fix it again.
(Not describing a turn except for movement because I'm intending to have Cami leave initiative. If you need a Cure Wounds from her because someone fell unconscious, she'll get up and do it, but probably nothing else.)
(End of turn situation: Cami and Pocket are standing together 15 ft. northwest of Cami's current position. Cami's sitting on the floor, and Pocket's on her shoulder. The Protector cannon is still very much active and working, but it's in her Bag of Holding for a little while.)
(yup, I have the exact same result with Farok's movement using 5x10x5 for diagonals.)
(I think that's another thing I didn't mention which I'd like to use in this game if you all don't mind. I like that 5x10x5 rule for diagonal movement and I don't think I've been following it and will going forward.)
Farok brings the gore again. Not quite as much as moments earlier, but the first swing cuts a good chunk of flesh from the ettin's body. The second swing misses and hits the wall, likely cracking some rock off the wall.
Cami and Pocket perform their movements, with Cami sitting on the floor and Pocket on her shoulder. (I'll keep the cannon icon small when it's in her bag.)
Fril cuts through the air at top speed, gracefully stops above Halleth and launches two arrows, both of which stick into each of the heads necks. They start to choke and gargle.
Halleth yells "Yes! Soon this shall be over and my vengeance we can seek!" and he jumps up as high as he can and swings both fists at the ettin's head, maybe hitting the bottom of their chins if he jumps high enough.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Ok, Peek's arrow hits the ettin the moment after Halleth's punches land. The arrow stick in the ettin's lower abdomen, and then Peek continues his movement up the hallway.
The ettin takes what it thinks might be its final attempt and swings both weapons again at Halleth.
Attack: 9 Damage: 12
Attack: 20 Damage: 13
both huge weapons slam into the undead half-elf. Again, he laughs as his body takes the large amount of damage and shakes violently from the impacts.
*Forgot to mention, on Halleth's turn would've mumbled some little nothings as a bonus action which replenished his HP by 10.
Next Round: Farok, Pocket, Cami, Fril, Halleth, Peek, Ettin
Two more huge pieces of ettin flesh fall to the ground, and the bleeding is too immense for the creature to continue with life. It crashes to the ground.
Combat is over. It's pretty messy in here with the two dead butchered ettins bleeding everywhere.
I will update the map in the next post once everyone gets their bearings and whatnot. Let me know specifically where you might want to look and/or what checks you might want to make as you do so.
Once any one of the group moves back to the room Cami was in, she'll stand up, leaving the cannon still in poor condition, but at least she thinks she probably identified how to fix it when she has more time. As though she forgot what she did, she gives a nod to who comes first and asks. "So, you think we're done here? I'll probably be able to still go for a little while until the Protector stops working."
Farok takes a deep breath calming himself from the battle as his vines seemingly fade back in towards him. Putting his shield and sword behind his back he first walks north a bit to scout around the corner and ensure that they are, in fact, alone.
Farok, when you move north, you confirm that the party is now in fact alone in this large chamber which was the main Xanathar outpost on this level of the dungeon.
Halleth says "There. We crush enemies. Goblins free now, yes? Now we go to second level? For Halleth's revenge. Stairs over there." and he points to the huge descending staircase to the west.
I have uncovered more of the map where Farok went - let me know what everyone might want to do next and what parts of this outpost you might want to investigate along with any appropriate rolls and I will give you the corresponding info.
Fril looks at Cami and Farok in response to Halleth's question. "I don't mind going down for a bit to finish Halleth's job as it shouldn't take that long once we find his former party. But we should come back and finish exploring this level once we are done. Any thoughts?" After he asks the party, he asks Peek what could be behind the eastern door where the Ettins were.
