Ebony thinks a bit more. “While the offer is intriguing, I’m still new to all the trappings of Wadhaven myself. I’d need more time to get a feel for this place before I feel comfortable committing to any one guild. Not that I don’t take interest in your cause, it’s an admirable one. I’m just sure you don’t need an.....initiate who is not fully committed to it. Thank you for the offer however, I’ll will keep it in mind. I still don’t mind helping the others on their Beginning though.”

"The Beginning may only be witnessed by those undergoing the process. Those of you who wish to Begin, follow me. If you don't, wait here until your companions return."
He then turns and begins towards the spiral staircase, waiting for those of you who are willing to Begin to follow him.

“I will take responsibility for what I have done. [...] If must fall, I will rise each time a better man.” ― Brandon Sanderson, Oathbringer.
(An Agent is basically the equivalent of a "leased contractor", basically. Keepers are very strict about not giving knowledge to people who may misuse it. If you don't want to do the Beginning, you can stay with the others. If you do want to do the Beginning and get the benefits of being an Agent, you have to do the Beginning.)

(right, so the only way to get the knowledge is to do the Beginning...For Rp purposes Ash is gonna back out [Due to his alignment and personal beliefs and other reasons he dislikes being tied down and answering to higher powers])
As the Keeper talks about the initiation process Ash hesitates. When the others continue on, Ash doesn't follow. "I think I may have been a little hasty, we don't really know much about these guys...and there must be another way to find the knowledge I need." As he finishes, you hear doubt in his voice, but he still does not go.

(They'd still be willing to trade some information now, but if you want access to some other the books in the Keepers' catalogue, you would have to undergo the Beginning.)
He nods, and walks up the stairs with the two that are doing the Beginning. I will move this to PMs for now.

Seeing no one is in the room beside them, Ivory unfolds his wings and stretches them, flapping them a bit and momentarily lifting off the ground. He has had his wings held close to his body for a few hours now. Then he stands on his his leg and holds himself up with his front against the table to look at the map curiously.
Ebony, seeing where he is looking, looks at the map as well.
Grumm stands awkwardly for a moment, but after a few minutes of consideration, assuming the others do not return in that time, he will try to follow them out of the room
The map of the Sword Coast displays hundreds towns, cities, and locations, most of which you are vaguely familiar with, such as Wadhaven, Neverumber, Sylvarin, and so on. However, there is something that stands out, dozens of strange orange dots that magically emit light. They are scattered across the map, most of them lying along roads or besides major cities.

Kane stands up and looks at the elf. “I accept becoming an Agent of the Candle. I am ready for the Spark of Knowledge.”
Evas thinks about it for another 5 minutes, "I will join. Evas Arvanthoth will be an Agent of the Candle." Evas puts his hand out and glows.
