In the middle of the night, a heavily armored half Orc walks into your "camp" and sits down on the log of a fallen tree. With everyone fast asleep she looks around and loudly clears her throat and nudges Louis with her sheathed long sword.
"Wake up, you're all dead. You got anything good to eat? Scavenging for nuts and berries in the forest may work for Druids, but I need some real food."
Louis, upon being poked by the long sword, looks up at the half-orc, and then slowly sits up.
Noticing the sleeping Kaemar, Louis gives her a swift kick to the butt and says, "So, K - invited a friend did we?"
Then addressing the half-orc replies, "Yeah, we have some rations - " - he starts rummaging through his pack - " - mighty nice of you to not kill us off in our sleep and just take them from us. To what do we owe the pleasure of your visit? And how might I convince you to keep your weapon sheathed?"
Louis glances around, but tries not to be obvious about it, to see if there are any other faces in the dark...
// Given the "tries not to be obvious about it" bit, I'm giving him disadvantage on the perception check - PERCEPTION 9 //
Kaemar comes to quickly, and seeing the half orc sitting near Louis she sits up quickly looking over at Merrick and checking that he is there and ok. She turns back to Louis and mouths "sorry" with a slightly over the top sad face that he might not be able to see anyway in the dark.
She also looks around the area scanning for signs of anyone else in the vicinity
Perception 19 (she is significantly less cautious about it than Louis.)
Kaemar stands and turns to the direction of the newest arrival(s).
"Busy out here tonight isn't it? Friends of yours? either way shall we see them a little more clearly? Merrick, Merrick, rise and shine - we've got visitors."
She casts dancing lights in a square shape looking to surround the latest arrival

The half-orc says "Friend, singular. We had to be certain that you lot would keep your weapons sheathed." To Louis "Thanks, but no thanks. We have rations. I was hoping for real food. Dwarves may make decent ale, but their food rations leave a lot to be desired."
// In the flash of the dancing lights, are the half-orc and elf wearing scarves around their necks? What other marks or armaments do they have on? //
"All right then. So I take it we're all friends then? I might as well finish the watch then, it was almost my time anyways. We can settle the details in the morning, I suppose. Would either of you two newcomers like to spend the watch with me - or will you trust me to let you rest?"
At this point I'll hand over the controls for the elf and the half orc to their players. Barlow is controlling the Elf. Quasimodal is controlling the Half-Orc.
"I don't think the light will have carried far, the light is dim and the trees will have reduced sight lines so I doubt we were seen but if you want to move a little ways away we can. So you guys didn't turn up by accident, are you reinforcements or did the plan change? My name's Kaemar by the way, what are we going to call you?"
she begins checking all her kit getting ready to move on. She also looks across to Merrick to see if he is awake and aware, if not she gently pokes him until he is.
welcome also folks, looking forward to this even more now!

Vhon - Level 2 Warlock - What shall become of the Drunken Sailor?
Neegalum introduces herself. Teenager. Although she is clearly half-orc (grey skin, black hair, black eyes), her features favor the other half (whatever mixture that was). She is wearing chainmail, carrying a shield, and a longsword. Legs spattered with mud (presumably from running through the forest), also significant spatters of blood (not hers) all over. In good health, but looks haggard.
To Louis: "Mr. Cleric, I'm sure that my companion Lynistra will be more than happy to do my share of the watch. You may not have heard (over and over and over again), but elves don't need to sleep, just a bit of meditation."
To Kaemar: "We were hoping that you were reinforcements for us. But considering how cheap those dwarves are were, I should have known better. You guys are on an errand?... Are you hiring more people? And how does it pay?"

I take back what I said befote about hoping those berries you ate weren't poisonous." The elf ignores the light and others as she enters. She wears a coat of scales fringed by chain covering her shoulders and hips. In her left hand is a round shield large enough to cover her torso and a pair of sword hang at het hips, one showing an elegant curve, the other straight and stocky. "Lynistra Stormchaser, and my friend here is, surprisingly, correct. Nuts and berries only go so far." When she noticed the small man bundled by the fire, she pokes him hard with a boot, "Get up! Ogre in the camp!"

"Don't joke about ogres, Lyn... Yes, Mr. Louis, that was where we were running from. A guild of dwarves had hired us to join their group to help them secure some mines that they purchased. We were only there a short time when some bandits and an ogre attacked. That was under control, until the rest of the ogres came out. We tried to get them to withdraw, but you know how dwarves get when someone tries to take their property. As far as we know, we are the only two survivors... (bitter grin) but we were too busy running for our lives to be certain."

"Wait... so this just happened? We're moving camp. If any of those ogres were chasing you, they definitely would have seen the dancing lights. Let's move about half a click and re-set camp for the rest of the night. Perhaps I'm being overly cautious, but I'm not sure I'm ready to find a band of ogres in the dark. Thoughts?"
