Lumen removes a small bedroll from his pack along with a blanket and sets up a place to rest on the floor.
" Time and rest will heal some of our wounds. I will try to see if my restorative magics can help you any further in the morning Roc. Maybe this town has something else in store for us as well."
Lumen will wake early with the rising of the sun to perform his prayers to Amunator and then return to sleep until rested.
After waking and getting their belongings in order, the party makes their way downstairs. Bartaban, the proprietor, looks as sullen as ever. Rinaldo the bard is now present. As he sees the group, he begins to pluck his fiddle. "Friends of Lumen~? Adventurers from far~ Would you like to hear about the White Lady that haunts these lands~? A beauty she was~ her husband who perhaps loved his riches more than she~"
He does a little spin. "I am planning to do a seance tonight! In these dark times, perhaps the spirit of the White Lady can help. Aren't you curious to hear what she has to say?"
Errona rubs her chin and says "Oh come on, Roc! It might give me some ideas for your funeral." Errona ponders a bit more and says "Well since we are gonna stick around for another night let me see what else we could get into." Errona will scan the tavern for a mission board or a bounty board. If she does not locate one, she will ask the barkeeper if he knows of any strange stories.

Bartaban, slightly more awake this morning, looks wide-eyed at the robot in front of him. He pours a23 a drink before turning to Errona. "There is quite a stir this morning. They've linked a murder to a long-time suspect. It's said that he will be burned at the stake for all to see. I'm really not interested in any of that political stuff though." he says with a muted expression.
"Elder Lumen, yes~! You would be most welcome~!" says Rinaldo, continuing to pluck his fiddle. The bard puts on a slightly disappointed look towards Roc, who leaves the inn coolly.
...
The group makes their way towards the center of town, close to where Lumen's manor is located. As they approach the town square, the roars of a mob start to get louder. Adults and children alike get closer to the vicinity of the group as it gets more and more crowded around them.

"ANOTHER MURDER LAST NIGHT! THE SAME AS THE LAST! WE KNOW IT WAS YOU, DZAAN. WHO ELSE BUT A RED WIZARD!? WE SHOULD HAVE TRIED YOU LONG BEFORE IT WAS TOO LATE!"
A crowd has gathered in front of the Town hall to watch the public execution of Dzaan, a human wizard who, despite efforts to disguise himself, was recognized and arrested for the crimes he has inflicted upon dale-folk. he has been bound to a stake and gagged. Members of the militia use torches to light the straw tucked around his feet. Fanned by the wind, the fire catches quickly. Dzaan does not struggle or scream as he is quickly engulfed in flames. Bundled-up spectators move closer to the human bonfire, eager to feel its warmth.
Errona, who is never a fan of the cold, moves closer to the warmth of the flame. She will look at the scene closely to see if the guy is already dead and how he is bound.

A pair of children bump Roc as they run through the crowd.
Lumen recalls that Dzaan was suspected of multiple crimes in the town, leading the public closer to putting him on trial by the day. A nearby bystander responds to his inquiry:
"An ice dagger through the heart...not a tradesman this time but a guard!!! Not only that, but a decapitated man believed to have been from Easthaven...three victims here! Who else could it be but this man!?"
Errona approaches the fire, looking to see that Dzaan is tightly bound and gagged. After not too long, the smell of burning flesh starts to fill the air. It is far too late to save him.
"THE WARMTH! YES!!!" Many desperate shouts from the crowd suggest that such heat hasn't been felt for ages.
"Curious..." a woman mutters while passing by a23. Her demeaner is much more calm than the surrounding mob. Bedecked in a tailored coat and a fur hat, Lumen recognizes her as Imdra Arlaggath - the captain of Easthaven's militia.
" An ice dagger you say. Why I was just going to bring something regarding that to the attention of Arlaggath today." Lumen says loudly from the side of the crowd where he stands.
" I was attacked by some sort of undead creature there last night wielding blades of ice. He may have attacked the guard before me. It sounds like someone came by afterward, dispatched the creature, and removed its head. "
Lumen doesn't try to save the wizard. He knows the town has been looking for an excuse to kill him for a long time. Nothing he says will stop them, and it is too late now.
"AWAY WITH YOUR NONSENSE, CLERIC! WHAT OTHER MAN COULD HAVE DONE THIS BUT DZAAN!?" yells part of the mob at the base of the fire. "UNDEAD? SOON YOU WILL BE SAYING THAT SPIRITS ARE THE CULPRIT! HA HA HA"
Other onlookers further back in the crowd, such as housewives, look at Lumen with sympathy.
Imdra approaches the party. "Elder Lumen. Interesting information you bring to the table. I know your reputation for showing up in interesting places during cases like this, but things always seem to turn out better in the end... You wouldn't be suggesting that some sort of vigilante was involved, would you?"
Her gaze moves from a23 to Roc. "New friends?"
She looks as if she wants to say more, but not in the midst of such a large gathering.
Errona tries to Imdra in thieves cant to see if she has anymore information. If not she will scan the crowd for anyone that looks like they have more information regarding the red wizard's history and the location of his house or hide out.
Imdra eyes Errona from bottom up, her gaze landing on her lips as she starts spouting nonsense. Realizing that the four adventurers are together, she asks:
"Are you all looking forward to a brunch in Easthaven? Our knucklehead trout comes from Lac Dinneshere and is quite good. So lucky to have such dedicated fishermen to gather them for us. A group of four such as yourselves would probably clean the fish right off your plate. Why not try it at one of our taverns, such as The Wet Trout?"
She presses her fingers together in a steeple below her waist just before turning away. "Well, I must be back to work. Enjoy your stay. Just don't expect spectacles such as this to happen every day." she says, before walking past the crowd.
Errona turns to Lumen and says "Your friends are kinda weird... You know that?" She continues by asking lumen "So what was the deal with this red wizard? Why does everyone hate him?"
" Oh, you know. When someone can perform works others do not understand and has a disposition people do not appreciate, it can be easy for people to blame them when odd things happen."
Lumen removes a small bedroll from his pack along with a blanket and sets up a place to rest on the floor.

A séance or seance (/ˈseɪ.ɑːns/; French: [seɑ̃s]) is an attempt to communicate with spirits. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Séance
This event will take place at the White Lady Inn during nighttime hours.
" Oh, yes. I'm sure it would be enjoyable to participate in one of your rituals. I have heard they are very exciting."
"Until then, I might like to check on my abode."
“Summoning the dead ones. I think I’ll pass on that. Y’all have fun though.” says Roc.

sporting his newly acquired trench coat, a23 seats himself at the bar near bartaban
”one beverage please...” *bzzzzt*
the bards enthusiasm for limericks and melodies catch his attention.
”ah, music. i do not care for it.”
he spins his head back to bartaban unimpressed with not just rinaldos performance, but art in general.

" That is unfortunate. The people here can be quite eager for violence when they feel in danger. "
Do I know anything of Dazaan?

As they pass, Lumen calls to some of the outliers of the crowd. "Who was the victim this time?"
Errona, who is never a fan of the cold, moves closer to the warmth of the flame. She will look at the scene closely to see if the guy is already dead and how he is bound.
Perception 16
a23 stares into the crowd making mental calculations and reconfirming a noticeable pattern of human behavior.
“endless human induced violence. it seems these people wish death upon this man. unfortunate”
he walks up to one of the angry spectators.
”has this man wronged you?”

"Ugh that smell. To think a Red Wizard all the way up in the Dale."

Lumen turns to the rest.
"That restaurant does sound appetizing." He will make sure to check if his home is undamaged by the mob before making his way to the Lac Dinneshere.

an awkward grimace forms across his face...some may even consider it a smile.
