Ash, you avoid the tentacles and scoot up the stairs easily and through the hatch and into the room with everyone else! You're also able to easily cut the rope as it slithers back down the stairs.
((Korrik, you have about 25ft of slack left on the rope.))
All monsters to take 5 bludgeoning damage from the thrashing tentacles this round at the start of each of their turns.
As the octopus continues its onslaught, the ship continues to take on water. The entire lower deck now fills with water! There is water shooting up the stairs that you all just climbed. Also, Ben you would really notice this the most, but the port side of the main deck where Ben is located is now level with the water, while the tilted deck keeps the starboard edge 10 feet above it.
The creatures before Ess take their turns. They all take the damage. And difficult terrain.
Another creature now tries again to get that door open up on the upper deck that is tied shut. I rolled the natural 20 in the roller thread, so this time the door flies open and you would all see this chap emerge from the door!
A half orc. He emerges on to the deck, not quite reaching Ben. He looks around the deck and also towards the rowboat to the starboard side and the Soul of Winter and is just as surprised as you all might look when you see him. The picture of him is accurate including the small staff, and he also has a small flame hovering above his shoulder. "AAaarrrrggghh aaatttaaccckkkkk!" he yells in common, as a giant spider squeezes its way through the door and also bursts onto the deck. You see two more of those humanoid spiders as well in the north cabin.
Ess's DEX save at the start of his turn. 12 and damage if fail 4 from tentacles.
He avoids them!
Ess says "She's sinking!!! Kay, your rope bro! Hold still!" and Ess takes a whack with his sword against the floor where the rope is. Attack to be with advantage due to the non-moving target.
If he does roll a double 1, then Korrik will take this damage.
Rope cut: 26 Damage: 8
"Easy peasy bro. Let's GO!"
Korrik is now free from the ropes. Ess now uses his movement to get closer to Ben. He is surprised to see the new creatures too.
To make it simple, I'm going to assume the creatures now in that lower deck that is flooded will continue to fight each other underwater and then drown. They don't try to 'hold their breath' just due to what they are, and they are not smart enough to try and 'escape'. So, to keep it simple I'm basically writing them all off unless something drastic happens so I don't have to worry about them.
Bimz comes back and also back into range. Ben, you get a comm:
dwarf boat wait far hurry
and Bimz is startled to see the creatures emerge from the door. He flies and gets to almost the ship on the map, waiting to see what happens next, especially what his master does.
**One important thing to note. The rowboat is set to arrive at the ship on a set round which is unknown to you. Since you (Bimz) told it to wait farther away from the Wave Widow, it will listen, but right now it's still coming towards the Wave Widow because it's still quite far away. That kind of gives a hint as to how many rounds it would take for the boat to arrive. Hint, it's past round 10. This will also give you an idea of how far it will be to swim to the boat. Currently it is approximately 150 feet away.
**The rowboat is approaching from the Starboard side.**
I will add the boat to the one map very soon, likely in the next 2-3 rounds, and especially if someone jumps into the sea.
Ben, you can see the rowboat now as well from the deck as it makes its way closer.
Ben is up! DEX save needed, DC 10, and damage if fail 9 from tentacles. You see the water bursting up through that grate on the main deck along with all of the new monsters that have emerged from that door.
Korrik could also queue his turn (DC 10, and damage if fail 11 from tentacles) as I'm disregarding the creatures before him that will drown.
((We will only use the one map now which has been updated with the water and the rowboat. It will move at the start of each round and it moves 15 feet each round. The rowboat holds the four of you plus the 2 dwarves.))
Ben, you're getting quite used to dodging the tentacles by now and easily duck as one passes over your head and slams the ship's deck. You send the magical inspiration to Ess along with your comm. to Bimz as you proceed to jump off the ship 10 feet down into the water! SPLASH!!! It's difficult terrain in the water for you, but you get a few feet from the ship for sure.
Korrik, you also easily dodge the tentacles once again and dash to the lip of the rail up 10 feet from the sea, and hold your jump and dash(swim) actions as described once Ess and Ash are overboard.
Korrik:
Ok you're getting a BIG TIME flashback here. With Ben now overboard, and you waiting for the others, it takes you back to the moment when B. was run through and you went overboard.
The two humanoid spider people run out the door and dash towards the starboard rail as well. They also see the rowboat and the other ship. And they take their damage.
Ash is up! DEX save needed, DC 10, and damage if fail 5 from tentacles.
Ash uses her Feline Agility to double her movement for this round. She uses her movement, action and bonus action all to move (30ft + 30ft + 30ft, all x2 = 180ft). All of the the movement will be across difficult terrain, except her long jump which is at normal speed. Long jump = strength score (8) plus bonus from her Second Storey Work trait of her Dex mod (4). So total long jump is 12ft, remaining movement is 168ft (only 84ft over difficult terrain). Total of 84+12=96ft moved?)).
Ash runs, and jumps, and swims… as far towards the boat as she can get. Then, while treading water, she turns and pulls out her crossbow and aims it back towards the monsters on deck, just in case…
”Come on people!! I’ve got you covered! Swim for it !!!…”
((For flavour…)) on deck, as she races past for the jump, Ash would have dropped to all fours to utilise all her claws, and Feline Agility, to the full, to traverse the splintering floorboards as quickly and deftly as possible.
Something I think the party have only ever seen her do once or twice before.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
((cool jump!))
Ash, for the last time you dodge the tentacles and complete your movement as described, jumping into the sea and swimming out along with treading water and turning around with the crossbow drawn.
All monsters to take 4 bludgeoning damage from the thrashing tentacles this round at the start of each of their turns.
Starting this round, the waves begin to break over the ship. The port half of the main deck is 3 feet below water, while the starboard edge remains 5 feet above it.
Half orc takes his tentacle damage. You see the half orc rush out of the 3ft of water now on the deck and dash and leap off the starboard side of the ship, splashing in the water and he yells as he's jumping "WAIT! ME!" and then he curses something in what you assume to be orc. (anyone understand orc?)
The giant spider takes its damage. It isn't smart enough to try and save itself. It moves toward the people it considers hostile trying to scuttle off the ship, and this entices the spider to chase. It moves down, hisses and shoots a web at Ess.
The roll was made in the rolling thread. The web sticks to Ess and he's restrained.
Ess yells "AAAARRGGGHHHHH" as he tries to burst the webbing. STR check with advantage due to bulls, as well as using the d8 (I will know the outcome either way so I think it's fair if we just say that Ess is using the inspiration die regardless of what I roll.)
7 + 1
Ess breaks free of the webbing and moves 15 ft closer to the edge of the ship.
Bimz sends a yes to Ben and then flies back toward the dwarves within range and says something to them, then flies back in range of Ben and then sends yes coming
Ben is up!
Map is updated.
* actually it makes sense that everyone could queue up their turns if you want!
Ben's turn is still pending, but Korrik can I have an Athletics check to get an idea of how things go here with grabbing Ess and pulling him over the edge and then heading off yourself.
Ben starts swimming towards the rowboat at full speed, he looks over his shoulder at all the yelling.
He calls back between back strokes,
"The rowboat is on its way, best to put some distance between the overly large octopus and it's new toy though. Come on Ess, let's see what your armor can do."
To the half-orc he calls,
"Swim then! There's room abroad."
He'll send to Bimz,
<That half orc is trouble but I believe we have some questions for him. Can you pass that on to the others?>
He'll send images of Kay, Ess and Ash when he thinks others.
Ben, the half orc gargles something as he chokes on water but it sounds like he said "Yes I swim"
Ben, Bimz acknowledges your communications and will act accordingly on his turn.
((I moved Ben a total of 30 feet east, let me know if that is correct!))
Korrik, you avoid the tentacle like a boss while standing on the rail. However, the 12 isn't enough to pull Ess up and over the rail.
Oh, what do you mean when you say you want to help Ess? He won't need a roll to jump off the ship. Let me know if I am missing something! Otherwise Kay would just now remain on the deck rail after failing to pull him up and over.
The humanoid spiders will be next but just want to confirm that bit with Korrik first and that his turn is done.
((I'd gotten a bit confused on what he was doing when, but he used his action to try to pull Ess over and failed. So no action to be able to hold and do anything... hmmm... Korrik will flip over the rail and hang on, with his feet planted against the side and his back to the water. He doesn't want to leave the ship until Ess does, in case he gets webbed, mobbed, etc. But this way if something breaks Korrik's grip, he'll fall into the water rather than onto the deck?))

Cool... yeah that would work given Korrik's size and DEX.
Ok, so Korrik is on the outside of the rails as you've described.
((You are so nice to wait for Ess))
The humanoid spiders take their damage. They ignore Ess and Kay and then proceed to hurl themselves off the ship as well and swim as far as they can. (they both took the dash action here) Are they following their 'leader'? Are they trying to get to the boat(s)? Are they smart enough for all of that? You're not sure.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Ash, you don't seem to be able to get the steady aim that you're used to while in the water like this, but the crossbow bolt finds the mark on the already extremely injured giant spider from the tentacles. It takes the bolt in the abdomen and falls to the deck, dead. You remain where you are in the water as well.
Since no monsters are alive on the ship anymore (perhaps the drowning ones, but we won't worry about them, haha) I won't roll for the monster tentacle damage.
Nothing new happens this round. The rowboat moves forward the 15 feet.
The half orc dashes and swims a total of 40 feet towards the rowboat. He yells "YES! KRELL MAKE IT TO BOAT!"
He's got a decent front crawl.
The dwarves in the rowboat see everything happening by the way. Including all of you incoming plus the orc and the humanoid spiders. The dwarves in the Soul of Winter are starting to see it, at least the ones using a telescope. I mean, they all see the octopus taking out the ship, but the ones on the other ship don't see what's going on in the water just yet. Only the dwarves in the rowboat do. They are going to start speaking (yelling) at the start of every round after this one as they row closer.
Ess's DEX save at the start of his turn. 10 and damage if fail 8 from tentacles.
He easily avoids them again.
Ess says to Kay who is hanging off the railing "BRO thank you for waiting my man now let's get the fork outta here!!"and he runs to the rail and jumps into the sea. He only has 5ft of difficult terrain with his armor, so he makes it quite far right ahead of Ben, likely going to attempt to pull him on the next round.
Bimz sends this to Kay, Ess and Ash and then proceeds to fly 20 feet or so over the half orc.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"You got it bro! Get to the others, I'll deal with these creeps!"
DEX Save: 23
Korrik expertly dodges the tentacles, and as they are thrashing about, moves with them to kick off the side of the boat, arcing up and back to twist in mid air and knife into the water.
He swims up under one of the humanoid spiders, pulling out his staff and thrashing and jabbing at it from below.
