Ben, you evade the tentacles, scoop the box into the bag, and then move up the stairs the 15ft quite easily. Once up the stairs, you call back to Korrik and he benefits from the inspiration!
The monsters after Ben take their actions. They take the damage, etc. etc.
Korrik, a tentacle JUST misses your head as you try once again to climb the ladder with the undead bodies getting closer and closer. It takes you longer than you would've wanted, but you're able to scoot up the ladder and then kind of instinctively close and re-bolt the trap door, essentially trapping those undead bodies down in the cargo hold!
The creatures after Korrik take their turns. They take their damage, etc. etc.
One of the creatures makes a STR check because it has tried to open the door that Ben (or whoever) tied earlier on the main deck, north door.
STR: 14
The door remains shut.
Ben, since you made it up to the main deck, you would've seen that door open slightly a few times, but you see the rope holds the door shut.
The creatures after Korrik take their turn, damage applied, etc.
Ash reaches down the hatch and hauls Korrik towards the opening. It’s not quite enough, and then Ben shouts something to him and Korrik pulls some extra effort out of nowhere. He barrels through, and then bars the hatch again. “My gods that was close!”, she says.
Ash sees Ben haul the box into the bag-of-holding, and stash it away.
Ash then looks around: hatch bolted; box stashed away; other door pinned closed somehow… ‘We did it!’, she thinks! The way up and out seems clear…
But Korrik beseeches Ash and everyone to open the barricaded door on this floor!! Ash glances that way…
@DM…
((OOC: So ash has passed her dex save, but done nothing else this turn yet… if she glances at the pinned/barricaded door on this floor, what does she see? Does it look like they could get in quickly? Or would it take t-i-m-e?? Let me know what she surmises, with a glance, then I’ll decide what to do…))
((Also, Ash it trying to figure out exactly how desperate Korrik is about getting in there. Without using her turn, is there any way of gauging that? Insight check for Ash? Persuasion check for Korrik? Not sure any of the makes sense, or would help. What do you think? Or just RP Ash’s decision. Thanks))
Ash would've saw the spiked shut door earlier and now glancing back at it again she can clearly see that it's going to take some effort to either force open or break apart. In other words, it will take an action, at least.
@Grwobert - the second part of the question I will make public.
Korrik, Ash is trying to figure out exactly how desperate Korrik is about getting into the spiked shut room.
If Korrik is trying to hide any type of feelings he might have towards getting in there (which it seems from his RP that he is), then I will need Ash to roll an insight check, and Korrik roll a deception check. If Ash rolls higher, Korrik has to share what Ash notices, ie. does he seem desperate, what type of vibe is he giving off, etc. and if Korrik rolls higher, nothing happens. Tie, nothing happens.
Ash, you are still up. You do not get hit by the tentacles.
The insight vs deception checks will not take a turn. Kind of a side thing going on.
((More that he is processing things and it's all happening too quickly for him to push pause and fill anyone in fully, so I'll respond truthfully based on what Ash's insight looks like.))

Ash looks as Korrik. No simple greed in his eyes, something else. She looks puzzled, and angry, then companionate, and resigned. “For fork’s sake! Rrraaaagh!…”. She turns to the door and tears at the barricades and the pins holding the door shut…
Some kind of check (flat d20): 18 (no mods added… -1 for athletics, -1 for strength, etc!! Eek…)
“Grragh!!… We don’t have time!”, Ash growls and shouts (more to herself), as she continues to rage at the devices holding the door fast… “What’s in here anyway, that’s so important?!… If we get this open, what am I looking for??”, she asks Korrik over her shoulder.

Once the box is bagged he moves up the stairs.

Before heading up the stairs he yells down the hatch,
"Kay, I know you want to try getting eaten by a tentacle monster but get up here!"
D8 of bardic inspiration to Kay!
((Gonna go ahead and post since the ones between Ben and Korrik didn't go last time, I'm presuming their actions won't affect Korrik.))

*** Ash, Please make a DEX save first, DC 10, and you take 3 bludgeoning damage on a fail from the thrashing tentacles.
sorry, forgot that piece!
As Korrik emerges from below, he looks at the spiked door. "I need to see what's in there!"
There's an edge of pleading panic to his voice.

Ben hears the 'for fork's sake' and calls down,
"Ash? What are you doing down there? Did you cut the ropes? You're going to need to do that..."
He hears the soft thump of kitty body versus door.
"Did you just try to...? Oh for the love of all the gods. Ess, open it!"
