Jared will look at you quizzically for a moment, then shrug his shoulders. "Yeah, I suppose I haven't been feeling quite myself today. I'll go over after the breakfast rush. Those eggs aren't gonna scramble themselves!" <cough> <cough>
Jormund looks at Jared with the "mountain dwarf scowl", arms folded, and says, "Mr Talon, I think the breakfast must wait... unless you'd like all these fine customers getting a side of rat-plague... Now, let's rush over to the healers before everybody gets scrambled, eh?!"
Jared will pause for a moment as if he's about to argue, but then you see his shoulders fall in resignation and he'll resignedly take off his apron. "Alright, your right, I suppose I should see a healer. But who's gonna feed this motley crew though? Boris is out of the inn until noon! Can you guys mind the shop while I run over to see our beloved Dawn Father?" He'll gesture towards the busy tavern hall.
As Rowan and Ann begin to leave the villa, you hear a voice call out to you. "Leaving without me, mistress? At least let me get the horses!" and you see Quinry walking toward you through the courtyard, with an innocent smile on his face. There are several other servants milling about the area.

Jormund chimes in, "Is there a sign for kitchen closed until lunch? Meanwhile... I've got the bar..."
From the quiet scare of hearing someone addressing one of the two, Ann fluctuates to relieved when it's just Quinry but becomes apprehensive again, hearing his plan. "We cannot wait here. Either we find someplace else to wait and have him meet us there, or we go with him." Her voice is directed at Rowan, as she hopes the wizard would have a final say on it better than she would.
Jared will give you a wry grin: "We have customers we can't disappoint! I'm sure you guys have got this!" And he'll toss his apron towards Bryn and head towards the door. You guys are left with a tavern hall with about 25 people in it, scattered between a half dozen tables and the long oaken bar along the Northern side of the tavern. You see a caulk slate with orders on it hung up by the door to the kitchen, and a number of guardsmen at the bar staring down the barrels of empty glasses. They look like they just came in from a long night shift. What do you guys do?
Rowan considers the options for a moment, trying to figure out what will get them out without being noticed. "It might be easiest and stealthiest if we just leave on foot,"she suggests, glancing between Ann and Quinry."We won't have to keep sneaking around the house, and it won't take too much longer to get there. Quinry, you're welcome to join us if you'd like." Her attention shifts back to Ann, recalling the knight's earlier qualms about her coming along."If that's okay with you."

OOC: I could have sworn I responded to this a soon after it was posted... oh well...
Bryn looks at the orders, goes behind the bar pulls himself a pint, looks at Jormund, winks, and says, "You, my friend have the bar, though I suspect that like asking the fox to guard the henhouse.... Don't drink anyone under the table before noon, after that anyone's fair game... lets see if we can turn a tidy profit for Jared while he's gone. I'm going to survey the kitchen and do my best to fill the orders. Depending on what I find, and my skills, or more to the point my lack of them, our menu might change." With that he drains the pint, pulls another one and heads to the kitchen saying, "Well, I'm off to the mines, so to speak.... just ignore the Sylvan and Elvish cursing."
The lengthy answer and additional questions make Ann increasingly more unquiet, as she was hoping for a snap decision to be made and no such thing happened. "It seemed important since we had them before, and Quinry could grab them by himself. I have fewer qualms about him coming with us than I had with you. Now, can we move along?"

Jormund picks up a tankard and tips it at Bryn. "Fair nuff... wouldn't know a Sylvan curse from a strong breeze me-self. Let me-know if you need some good Dwarvish diatribes that'll make an owlbear blush. 'Es probably best this way wit' you cooking... Only practical thing I know to make is lentils & cave lizard in a mushroom broth, unless'n there's a wild boar to be spitted. Those are worth going top-side for mind ye'..."
He smiles, then...with a look of deep severity he plods—chainmail jingling—around to behind the bar. He hefts his crossbow off his back and onto the side of the bar out of the way. "That's only for the business side of the business. Fer later."
Then he looks up at the oncoming crew and belts out, "What'll it be? Grog or ale fer breakfast? ... Never can be sure which part of the world you'll be in by midday, thank the Mail-maker... eh?"

Ann and Rowan, as you converse with Quinry, you notice that several of the other servants have also taken notice of the three of you in the courtyard, and are watching casually as they are continuing about their work. You think there is little doubt that you have been noticed by somebody.
You also notice that Quinry is looking even more pale than usual, and appears to not have rested well, and is moving with a slight limp.
Bryn, you see 4 orders up on the chalkboard by the kitchen. As you tie on the apron, Bryn, you draw on your years of fending for yourself in the woods to produce some food for these expectant guests.
The orders:
1. Front Table: Ham and Scrambled Eggs. Make a sleight-of-hand check for scrambling the eggs.
2. Bar Stool #2: Biscuits and Boar sauce. Make a survival or nature check to see if you know how to make boar sauce
3. Steak, Medium well. Give me a perception check for the steak being done.
4. Sweet Potato Hash with a Side of Pidgeon Egg. Make an animal handling check as you notice a coop of pigeons along the kitchen's back wall.
Jormund, as you walk behind the bar, you notice a well-stocked bar will plenty of common ales, whiskey's and beers from around the region, as well as a few bottles of more exotic make. Of particular note you see a bottle labeled Undermountain Amber, with a label displaying a swarthy dwarven man holding a beer in one hand and a torch in another.
You notice several of the guardsmen discussing the night's activities. You only catch bits of the conversation. "...... Sewers, what a stench!" "Still no sign of those red-cloaked brigands, although..... ". Seeing you approach, the guardsmen pause and turn to you. One of them, a dark-skinned, thick-muscled, but somewhat overweight man with a belly full of last year's rum turns to you and says "Hello there, where's Jared? That boy promised me I'd not see the bottom of this cup, and it's getting mighty close to empty!'

Ann and Rowan, as you converse with Quinry, you notice that several of the other servants have also taken notice of the three of you in the courtyard, and are watching casually as they are continuing about their work. You think there is little doubt that you have been noticed by somebody.
Ann's building frustration actually melts at the realization they had been spotted. It's not replaced by anger, instead, she resigns, sighing deeply in an already tired state, made worse by the situation that never seemed to get better.
(I'm still waiting on Rowan. Ann's determined to leave regardless, but not without her day being made worse.)
(Sorry, I thought I had stated in my previous post that Rowan was ready to leave, but seems like I've misremembered. Once again, I was confused why things were going slowly, and it turns out it was entirely my fault. So sorry guys, I really need to pay better attention.)
Over the past couple minutes, Rowan's budding excitement has waned, shrinking back into something more closely resembling her posture when being scolded by her mother. She glances back and forth from Ann to Quinry to the milling servants, hands twisting into the fabric of her cloak, not wanting to mess anything else up. "Let's just go, before my mother comes and finds us too,"she suggests quietly, already holding her breath and shying away as if her idea is going to be shot down.
Jormund, as you walk behind the bar, you notice a well-stocked bar will plenty of common ales, whiskey's and beers from around the region, as well as a few bottles of more exotic make. Jormund grabs the bottle of Undermountain Amber and walks over to the vocal one, "Oy! Jared's business be his own. But I know me draught... and if ye's wanting to be sure not to reach the bottom yer gotta start with summin' a tad heartier, lad."
And he fills the guardsmen's cup with the Amber. "Mind ye dunne spill it... attracts the cave slugs and ye canne get em off o' ye once they've crawled on."
After that he looks to see if anyone else is looking for more.
Despite your inexperience in the kitchen, Bryn, you know your way around a skillet from your years of cooking in the wild and quickly set to work.
Ham and Scrambled Eggs quickly make their way onto plates. You follow with a Savory mixture of fresh-made biscuits you find in the oven and a dark gravy, seasoned with a crumble of quickly fried Boar bacon. In a moment of inspiration, you add in a dash of herbs out of your own collection. This dish is extremely well received by the customer, who makes a special note to come to the kitchen window to express his gratitude. "Best Boar sauce I've had since my grandma passed away. Brought me back to her kitchen table in me mind!" And he'll toss you a gold piece in gratitude.
While you're conversing with this customer, you begin throwing the next order on the grill, then go to fetch a pidgeon egg from the nearby roost. After a few moments search, you find a clutch of eggs and quickly remove them, and add them to a small mountain of cubed potatoes and garlic. It's only after you finish with this dish that you recall the steak you'd thrown on the grill earlier, and come back to blackened hunk of meat. You attempt to scrape off the worst parts, but in the end, you're forced to throw away the whole dish and start from scratch. The next time around you cook a palatable steak, but it is just barely done since you were in a hurry, and the customer, a kindly looking older gentleman, only eats a few bites from around the edge before pushing it away and leaving.
However, all-in-all the customers you've served earn you about 1 gold and 5 silver in tips.

Quniry, will a bit too loudly call out "Oh mistress, you're just going out for a walk around the garden? I guess you won't be needing MY help then. My mistake! Well if you need your horses, just let me know! (wink wink)" He'll then lock eyes with you and you hear his voice inside your head say "My apologies mistress, it appears I've made an ass of myself. I'll have horses saddled behind the stable in 5 minutes if you wish for them, otherwise, I'll do my best to cover your tracks."
Jormund, as you walk behind the bar, you notice a well-stocked bar will plenty of common ales, whiskey's and beers from around the region, as well as a few bottles of more exotic make. Jormund, you see the guardsmen take a sip of his Amber and raise his eyebrows in surprise, 18 Consitution. He'll let out a small choked cough, then quickly try to cover it up as the others turn toward him. One will speak up "What's the matter Cooper, can't hold your ale?" Which is greeted by a swarm of laughter and good-natured ribbing.
After the laugher dies down, you see Cooper slowly begin to nurse his amber down in small sips, treating it more like a liquor than a beer. Surface dwellers can't hold their beer after all it seems.
As you bus the bar, and keep up with the other guardsmen's drinks, one of them will turn to you and say "Say, aren't you one of the crew that drove out the rats from the marketplace yesterday?" I suppose we owe you some thanks, although we've had an awful slog through the sewers because of those red-cloaked rats you spooked ever since. Why couldn't you have found some nice tree faeries to stir up trouble with, eh?"

"Well met there Cooper! The sun dunne set in the Underdark... that'll keep ye warm, will'n it?"
To the questioner, "Ya, I had a tangle with them red-cloaked vermin... just came into town for some business and suddenly the market's a roilin' mob of rats. Bad ore in all those red-cloaks, to set that loose in the midst of shopping mothers with their bobbins... If they'da been fairies, then all that rat-transformation stuff'd be just a prank worn off by afternoon. If ye ask me, those vermin mean to infect as many as they can and rot be to the rest."
"So they've been leading you through the wash, have they? Is that where they're holed up?! I'd be more'n happy to go and lay a bit more hammer and fire down on 'em if only they'd sit still, and if there weren't so many of 'em. Catch any of em?"
"Being as you're after 'em, let me get you a round on me. I'll toast to ye lads of the same campaign! ... do ye gents work fer Sir Henry?" With that Jormund reaches into his pouch and throws a small stack of his own coins into the till and then starts distributing the beverages.
